The sound of crunching leaves, breaking branches, and heavy running fills the forest. Morrel pants as he tries his best to stay ahead of his pursuers. His pace slowly decreases till he is just out of their reach. His mind races with plans to escape but none seem possible in his situation. He shakes his head and uses a small amount of magic to up his stamina. He reaches a clearing and finds himself cornered by giant wall-like rocks. ‘Crap…looks like I’ve bee caught!' He puts his hands up and turns to the guards, now holding swords in his direction.
(Here ya go. I'm starting off with a semi-small reply.)
Morrel looked up, startled by the sudden sound and aura of two others. ‘More guards?’ He quickly stepped back but tripped. One guard lunge at him and slashed his shoulder. “Ah! Damn you!” A dark tendril lashed out from behind him and sent the the guard flying backwards. He sat up and quickly put pressure on his wound. “Morrel Luna! Surrender now! You are to be executed for the use of illegal use of dark magic!” One guards sword became engulfed in blue flames and he stepped forward.
TJ jumped in front of the guards and signaled Charcoal to take Morrel somewhere else, so he did. TJ then started knocking out a couple of guards without using magic at the moment. After the guards were knocked out, he teleported them to a basement and locked them in there, then guided Morrel to TJ's house, where he unlocked the door and Charcoal led Morrel to the couch and TJ locked the door and followed Charcoal
Morrel, in pain and dazed from the events, went along silently the whole way. Once he was able to think clearly he moved away from the large wolf-like creature and it's owner. “Who are you?! What do you plan to do?!” Clearly not trusting either of you he released more tendrils that floated around him in a protective manner. He flinched and clenched his shoulder tightly. “Crap…!”
TJ sighed and looked at his shoulder “Let me heal that” Then magic started swirling around his shoulder, healing the wound. “You're lucky I helped you… I could've gotten myself killed doing that… Not like I haven't been arrested before by those exact people.” Then sudden banging was heard from underneath them and he looked at the ground and the noise suddenly stopped, like it was never there. TJ sighed and Charcoal walked up to him and sat down.
Morrel shivered at the feel of the magic. “Okay…but why did you help me?” He sat up and stared at the large creature now sitting obediently at the humans side. “And what the hell is it? Some kind of guardian or curse?” He was obviously interested. The tendrils moved back a little but still stayed alert. “And what do you mean arrested? You too are a criminal?” He was trembling and looked much like a small frightened dog.
Charcoal looked at Morrel and growled, but stopped after TJ put his hand on Charcoal's head. “He's a guardian my sister sent to me after she died. And I helped you cause all those people kill for no reason, they killed my sister and I'm not letting them kill someone else. And yes, I have been arrested before, but I broke out a while back, they're still looking for me now” He sighed and sat down in front of Charcoal
Morrel goes quiet for a minute then sighs. “Well thanks I guess.” He gets up but stumbles. The tendrils make a hissing noise and disappear. “Ugh…I shouldn't have used them.” He sits back down and pulls his knees to his chest. “I need time to regain my strength.” He takes some deep breaths then pulls a vial of glowing black liquid. He opens and drinks it then leans against the wall. Smaller, thinner, tendrils wrap around his body. “I need something to eat…or I might faint.” His eyes are closed and he is taking shallow breathes now.
Charcoal went and grabbed something from the fridge and brought it to Morrel and then walked back to TJ and sat down. TJ then spoke “There, that should help you” TJ pet Charcoal and smiled “Thank you for giving him that, I'm glad you didn't try harming him… But you know that was my food, right” Charcoal then gave a big smile and laid down. Then, TJ walked over to Morrel and sat down next to him.
Morrel was eating the food quickly though when you approached he froze. He inched away a bit then began eating again. He finished the food then sighed deeply. “Thank you. I feel better now.” He sat more comfortably but still looked weary of you two. After a few minutes of silence he spoke. “What's you name…and his?” He looked over to the wolf. “He's very powerful by the looks of it, and has a very handsome coat.” A slight smile formed on his face. “Does he like pets? If so may I feel his fur?” He kept his eyes scanning over the wolf.
“I'm glad you feel better, and there's no need to be afraid of me.” He scooted closer to Morrel and smiled “I'm TJ and that over there is Charcoal” Charcoal then looked up and tilted his head “He is a pretty powerful pup.Yes, I just said pup. He's only a year and a half old. And he does enjoy pets, but only if he likes you” TJ called Charcoal over and sighed “Now, be nice, alright?” Charcoal nodded and placed his head in Morrel's lap
Morrel made a happy noise and playfully held Charcoal's face in his hands. “Well you are certainly a very good-looking pup! A very good boy too!” His mood had completely switched now. “Oh, and I'm Morrel.” He looked to TJ and grinned. “I'm sorry I was so uncertain of you, I'm just not used to being treated kindly I guess.” He continued to gently pet Charcoal. “Oh and I'd also like to ask if, have you seen a small squirrel-looking creature around here anywhere? She usually follows me but I sent her into the trees in the forest when I was bein chased.” He now looked a little worried. “Her name is Artemis, she is my familiar.”
