Kenny took his time, reading a book called bridge to terabithia, his jacket supporting him in the breezy weather. When he sat up from the bench, he stretched himself about and began to watch the birds, documenting them in a small pocket sized notebook with what seemed to be a pen. He began to walk around the park on a sunny and breezy day in the summer. He dusted off his jacket as to look presentable. He gazed at a beautiful cardinal in the distance and got straight to writing about this magnifiicent creature he had seen. He had sat down on the bench, and got back to his reading when he saw Andrew walking and batted an eye to him walking but quickly took heed at his book. This is Kenny. He's 27 and was born in Bruges, Belgium to a family of 2. He was now adulting, reading bridge to terabithia for a dose of nostalgia. As he read, he saw Ashley coming and batted an eye to the person as well. He went back to his book. He waved at the two and went back to reading.
Ashley was walking through the park, giggling and teasing her brother. Life had been bad to her, but that didn't matter, this being her second time leaving the house since Boston. Ashley was a free girl now, 22 with no loving parents a dark past, and an older brother whom she nicknamed “Andy”. She was enjoying herself and noticed a fellow parkgoer watching birds on a bench. She smiled, and thought he looked a bit like Andy, whispering, “You never told me you had a twin!” and giggling. She was going through rehab, and was getting less manipulative. She quickly looked away and blushed when the young man looked back at her though, gasping quickly and surprisedly.
Oh, I'm not his twin. Kenny put down his book and went to sit next to the siblings. "I'm Kenny DeVos. And you are?" Asked Kenny. He gazed at a bird, many actually. He saw a cardinal, a pigeon, an owl, a finch, a blackbird, and wrote as he was fascinated by these birds. When he heard the words Ashley and Andrew, he shook both of their hands, courteously. “So where are you from, I am from Belgium. You guys are somewhere from the tristate area, right? That accent reminds me of new yorkers and people from boston.” Said Kenny. We were the ones who invented fries in Belgium. “You guys wanna go eat mussels for lunch?” He grabbed the car keys to a lamborghini sian and smiled courteously, offering the thought of mussels for lunch. “It's a traditional Belgian dish.” Said Kenny. He threw his keys up and down, awaiting an answer.
She gasped and threw her hands over her mouth. This must be a trick., she thought. She quickly replied to his kind offer with, “S-sure! Dad loved mussels, remember Andy?” She noticed she was blushing and quickly ran over to the car, her jaw dropping. This guy is rich! she thought. She slowly entered the car, and closed the door gently as to not damage the hardware. “Come on, Andy. Get in!” It had been a while since she last had real food, so she was excited.
As he drove to the restaurant, he played some Belgian music. He parallel parked into the driveway and opened the car doors. They went inside, sat down, and Kenny made his order. “Hi, I'd like the deluxe Mussels for us 3. I'd like a pitcher of your finest chardonnay, I'd like a well-done steak and a beef wellington for our appetizer, and that will be all.” Said Kenny. “Ok, that'll be 50,000 dollars with a 5,000 dollar tax.” Said the waitress. “I'll cover the tab.” Said Kenny. Within 35 minutes of chatter and laughing, their expensive meals had arrived. 3 plates of deluxe mussels for 10,000 dollars. A pitcher of chardonany that cost 5,000 dollars, a well-done steak that costed 15,000 dollars, and a beef wellington that costed 20,000 dollars. "Chow down, fellas." Said Kenny.
“W-wow, thanks Kenny.” she said. She was very confused. She smiled and started eating some mussels, and glared at Andy as he rudely shouted, “Where's the waffles?” and laughed. That seemed very rude, and she noticed she wasn't wearing formal clothing. She embarrassedly stated, “If I knew we were coming to this fancy of a place, I would have dressed differently." Saying words like I and fancy exposed her British accent more prominently. She was flattered that he would take them to such a nice establishment.
