Xaviar was leaning against the tree in Windrise. It was somewhere he felt comfortable at. Of course there was many memories surrounding this place but for the time being he could forget it. 

Mondstadt was peaceful, as it was on most nights. A light breeze keeping a constant movement on the grass and leaves. The breeze is what made Mondstadt so special, for it allows people to do whatever they please. The creator of that breeze was not too far. He was sitting in the tavern of Dawn Winery. What a surprise.

Xaviar stood up and sighed as he started waling back to the city. He was hoping to find Venti just to talk to him again. it had been a while sense they last spoke

Venti was sitting at one of the barstools in the Dawn Winery Tavern, talking Kaeya and Rosaria’s ear off. Of course, he was normally careful when drunk, but he had no clue what he had said when sober. No matter what, he was sure he could trust the two.

Xaviar walking into the bar and saw Venti drinking and talking to the two. He smiled and shook his head deciding that now wasn't the time to try and talk. he'd see Venti like this many times before though he didn't mind it, it wasn't something he would encurage. 

“All the way to the tippy tippy top- And then BOOM! The tower would come crashing down.” He giggled, waving his drink as he spoke. “It makes sense, I promise! Tales say Morax had the biggest castle!” Venti hummed, sipping the wine.

he sighed and smiled as he exited the tavern as he started walking through the city. It was a pretty calm day thankfully. He decided to take a walk through the woods, se what he could collect for later.

He turned around, glancing back as the door shut, “Aw, guy didn't want to have fun.” He frowned. “But he should be back, for it's courage he..” Venti trailed off, he always struggled with ryhmes when drunk. “Er.. Courage he doesn't lack!” He laughed.

(can he meet Aether while he's out on his walk?) 

He walked towards the stormbearer peaks, it was always a nice place to relax. As he was walking he had heard people talking though he just ignored it for the time being.

Along the walk, there was chatter up ahead. Seemingly a young man and a child, as he continued walking this talk would become louder, and somehow, the little girl seemed to just be upset.

Xaviar raised an eyebrow as he walked closer wondering who they might have been. “Hello?” he called once he had gotten close enough to see the two talking.

The man turned around. He had a long blonde braid, and an outfit clearly for hotter temperatures then the windy climate of Mondstadt. “Hello, can we help you?” The boy questioned, his arms dropping to his side as the girl floating next to him crossed her arms.

“Oh well I just heard talking and was wondering who it was” he said looking at the two of them. he could tell from Aethers outfit that he was’t from around here. “So are you two travelers?”

“I guess you could say that.” He nodded, putting his hands on his hips. “Yeah- Traveler.” He nodded, and the girl nodded. “Paimon’s not! Paimon just tags along.”

He nodded “well then, Welcome to mondstadt, my name is Xaviar” he said looking at the two “and who are you?” He asked rubbing the back of his neck.

“I’m Aether.” The man said, rolling his neck slightly to crack it as he smiled. “And I’m Paimon!” The girl, who was floating by his side spoke, crossing her arms. Perhaps she just wanted to get going.

He nodded “well then do you want me to bring yu the city?” He asked “and ah, if I may ask where are you from? Your clothing I havent seen before”

“Sure!” Aether nodded, and Paimon followed in suite, “To answer your question,” He started, following after Xaviar as he led him to the city. “I'm from a completely different world, I guess I'm a big traveler.” He laughed, smiiling.

He looked at him and raised an eyebrow “from another world huh?…” he said softly. Now that was something he had never heard of before. “So… then how long have you been here?”

“It's a long story.” Paimon answered, and Aether nodded in agreement. “Me and my sister were separated, though. So it's my goal to find her.” The man sighed softly, still following Xaviar. “I'll worry about my own problems, though. What's your story?” Aether asked.

He chuckled “well if I told you everything we’d be here for a while, but I’ve lived here for most of my life and what I remember” he said as he lead them to the city

“I see.” He laughed, “Is Mondstadt a good city?” He asked calmly, seemingly enjoying the calm walk. The breeze was equally as calm, which he took note of. It was pretty chilly, but he didn’t really mind all that much.

“For now yes, but… I’m worried something will happen” he sighed looking at Aether “I’m not sure if you’ve seen him yet but there is this dragon, he’s been attacking the city recently and its getting bad”

“A dragon?” He raised an eyebrow, looking over at him. “Ah, I think we saw him on our walk here. Along with some guy in green with blue hair.” Aether noted, thinking for a moment. 

He looked at him and paused for a moment. He had known that Barbatos had returned, he had felt it. “Right… though I’m not sure who that person may be” he lied.

“It was strange, the man was talking to the dragon- Crazy right?” The girl, Paimon, shook her head. “The dragon seemed off too.” Aether nodded. “We've already met someone named Amber, and we have to talk to her later, but I'm sure we can hang here for a moment.” Aether nodded.

He nodded “well I know of the dragon that your talking about, he’s called stormterror now and he was once one of the 4 winds” he said softly looking at Aether. “Though he’s been acting dierent recently”

“Hm, strange.” He shrugged, “Guess it's not our problem though!” Paimon shrugged, shaking her head as if to prove a point. Aether just nodded along with her, agreeing is always the best option, even if you don't agree with what she's saying.

He nodded slowly “right, well sense I take it youve seen the city a bit, how do you like it so far?” He asked as they walking. 

“It’s great so far!” He smiled, “the breeze is cold, and it’s not too cloudy- that’s just the weather though, I guess the buildings are neatly put, and the castle is nice- who’s the king?”

He shook his head “we have no king, no god, and not really any ruler” he said “This is a kingdom thats free, the closest thing we have to a ruler is our acting grandmaster miss Jean”

He blinked, but nodded slowly, “Ah, okay.. Is all of Teyvat like that?” He questioned, tilting his head at the man slightly, the fact that there was no ruler, or god- Confused him. But, all worlds were different, so he didn't question it aloud.

He shook his head “no we’re the only ones without a god, we haven’t seen him in about 100 years” he sighed. “But we’re still able to function normally and we do have people ot keep the peace”

He nodded his head to show that he understood, “Huh, that's interesting. I've been to a lot of places, and some of them don't even have Monarchs." He shrugged

He nodded “right, we’re the only ones in this world that don’t have an archon, or our god” he said as if he were proud of it

“Sounds like bad guidance.” He shrugged, “No offence, I just think that without some form of that type of thing- it’ll backfire eventually.” Aether noted.

He sighed and nodded “your not wrong…” he muttered he had his own worry’s anyway. He did try to convince Barbatos to stay all those years ago. He still wanted to protect the people. “We do have somewhat a leader…”

“You know- I also really do doubt that he's not here- From what I understand so far is that you have visions- And I'm sure that whatever your god is, there's still those visions from him, right? So he's not gone if he's giving away those visions.” He hummed, smiling.

“Well he can give them away remotely, and still he might be watching but he’s not going to interfere with our lives” he said.

“Hm, then he doesn’t care, right? If there’s a dragon attacking your city… wouldn’t that be a time to step in? Seems like you have a lazy god.” Aether shrugged, shaking his head

He sighed softly and looked down. “I’m sure he knows what he’s doing and thinks we can handle ourselves…” he muttered. It did worry him sometimes he wondered if Barbatos was just trying to get away from his godly duties. He knew Venti never wanted to be a god. 

“Or he is lazy.” He repeated, “But I probably shouldn’t insult your god- my bad.” Aether smiled, putting his hands on his hips.

He sighed “whatever… well i should be off, I have some of my own things to do, I just wanted to check in and see that you were doing well” he said “if you need me you can ask one of the knights”

He nodded, and waved as he turned around to leave. He would have to go check with Amber, get that license- Pretty big law for not having any form of leadership.

he had left him and went to windrise. He was hoping to find Venti just trying hoping to tell him whats been going on. 

(Sorry! I’ve been really busy, but I’ll try to respond more!)

Venti wasn’t there, but he did find the man walking down the sidewalk, trying to bargain with a stand owner for an apple.

Xaviar had finally found him and walked back towards him. “Hey Venti can I have a word with you?” He called walking over to his old friend. 

Venti looked over, “Later! I’m trying to get an apple from this stubborn gentleman, for he shall not block my plan!” The bard giggled
