Lumine was out of crystalifly cores again, and where was a better spot to hunt them than wind rise? The flies there were easy to catch and there wasn't anything threatening around to bother her. Of course slimes and hillichurls were everywhere but none would get close to the lone tree by the water. It was the forth one that caused trouble. “It slipped out of my hand… catch it, Paimon!” She almost screamed as the crystalifly flied away. “Don't call Paimon like that…Paimon isn't a hound!” Paimon said but went after it anyway. “But you can fly. You should be the one who catches them." Lumine said as pulled off the transparent wings of the flies and put their core in her bag. Paimon had to fly as high as the branches and yet lost the forth fly. Instead, she found a person resting beside the tree. “Paimon found someone.” She said as hurried back to Lumine. “Someone or something?” Lumine wasn't sure if Paimon had used the right word so went to the other side of the tree to see for herself. And there she saw the young man who was supposed to be resting there before they come and start a ruckus. “Uh…hi… didn't see you there... Sorry…” She said with an apologizing smile.
“Ah, let Paimon do the introduction!” Paimon floated forward. “This is Lumine and Paimon is Paimon.” She said proudly. “May I ask your name?” Lumine spoke up. It wasn't usual to ask a stranger's name before introducing oneself. “Your outfit is different from people of Mondstat. Are you a traveler?” She asked curiously.
(How much has Lumine done in Teyvat? Honorary Knight? Savior if the harbor? The one who withstood shogun's blad? The sage of Buer?)
He shook his head “I’m not a traveler” he said with a shrug “Just don’t dress the same as the rest of them” he said “wat about you?” He asked looking at the two of them
(Like before they get the title of Honorary knight)
“Paimon forgot to ask your name but Lumine asked. I think you forgot. Hm…who are you, anyway?” Paimon asked as crossed her arms defiantly, before Lumine could answer his question. She looked at Paimon with a wry smile but waited for the stranger to answer her. She knew that her flying companion would get mad and nag the whole day if people ignore her.
(So, they have not met Zhongli yet?)
He paused before saying “My names is Xaviar Flores” he said looking at the two “and what exactly is this?… creature?” He asked looking at Lumine
(nope, they only just saw storm terror for the first time)
“Paimon isn't a creature! Paimon is her guide.” Paimon protested as stomped her feet in the air. Lumine nodded. “Your guess is right; I'm a traveler from another land and Paimon is my guide in Teyvat. I've lost my brother so I'm looking for him. That's why I came to Mondstat. He looks like me but is a little taller. He used to fashion his hair in a long braid. Have you probably seen him or heard of him?” She asked Xaviar.
He looked at the two of them and paused. “No I don’t think so… at least not recently” he said with a shrug “sorry”
“It's fine, don't worry. There are still many places left to search.” Lumine answered. “Yeah, we're going to search every inch of Teyvat. Next stop is Liyue. Paimon knows a good route to Liyue that has many delicious boars, birds, and slimes to hunt! Also, Liyue has many delicacies…Paimon can't wait to try them…" Paimon added excitedly. “But we're not leaving so soon. I've made a few friends here and I want to spend some time with them.” Lumine said. In fact, there were many mysteries in Mondstat that she wanted to figure out before leaving. And she had planned to go to Liyue on a special day that everyone could meet the geo archon. But Xaviar was a stranger and didn't need to know every detail.
(I thought they still haven't fought stormterror))
Xaviar nodded “So you've met the rest of the knights?” he said standing up. “how was their first impression on you two?” he asked
(Sorry. I thought for the first time means when they fought him for the first time. If they have just met him it means that they know almost no one in Mondstat. Should I redo it or just continue?)
In case we continue:
“They were all very welcoming.” Paimon answered. Lumine nodded. “They're nice.” She said and remembered how Kaeya suspected her being a new storm. That guy had to paranoid or something.
In case I correct my mistake:
“It's fine, don't worry. There are still many places left to search.” Lumine answered. “Yeah, we're going to search every inch of Teyvat. First stop is Mondstat. Paimon knows that city within the walls is the capital. So we have to go there to meet people and ask around." Paimon added excitedly. “But Paimon was hungry so we stopped here to catch fish and cook something. Then I saw these pretty butterflies and thought they might be useful.” Lumine said as showed a crystal core to Xaviar.
(i'm going with redo) Xaviar looked at them and nodded “well I can introduce you to a couple people that might be able to help with that” he said with a shrug ‘though I should let you know we haven’t seen our archon for 500 years" he said shaking his head. He hated that Barbatos had left them, even when he did come to visit in his mortal form.
“That would be great. Thank you very much.” Lumine said with a bright smile. But Paimon wasn't sharp enough to read the mood. “How … how did you know that we are looking for archons?” She asked. “Oh, Paimon…” Lumine still was smiling but Paimon felt threatened from her direction. “Don't be silly. Of course he knows who can be the biggest help.” She looked at Xaviar for confirmation. “Right?”
“Um…uh…Paimon understands.” Paimon said, dropping her head. “Thanks. That's will help a lot. Shall we go?” Lumine couldn't wait to enter the city. Among all those people inside, someone must have heard about her brother. Both of them had forgotten about feeding Paimon, which didn't matter since she was always ready to eat.
(he doesn't summon his weapon? Everyone with a vision does it.)
Lumine followed Xaviar and whispered to Paimon to keep quiet for a while. She didn't want her to tell something that could make him change his mind. But Paimon couldn't remain silent for long. “Can all Mondstaters talk to dragons?” She asked. She was worried that they kept dragons as pets and then one of them might eat her. “We saw a boy in green who was talking to a blue dragon.” Lumine explained since Paimon's question sounded too random.
“Storm terror?” Paimon asked anxiously. “That's probably how people call that blue dragon.” Lumine explained to her. “Even his name gives Paimon chills…” Paimon whispered. “Keep the chilling for hot summer days.” Lumine teased her. “Hey…” Paimon forgot about being scared and focused on getting angry. “I can see the gate. We should be almost there, Paimon. Looks like a peaceful city…with plump juicy paragons…” They were distracted by the sight of Timmy's birds on the bridge.
“No…we weren't thinking of that…” Both of them said simultaneously but turned pinkish and looked away. Paimon's tommy decided to grumble to make the situation more awkward. The birds flied away as they passed the bridge and Timmy glared daggers at them. “It's not like I have bow with me.” Lumine mumbled to herself.
A red hyped girl appeared in front of the gate. Seemed like she was just leaving the city. “Good morning!” She greeted Xaviar as soon as they met, then looked at Lumine and Paimon. “It's the first time I meet you. Are you going to visit Mondstat?” She asked.
(I'm not taking Amber. I'm just borrowing her.)
“According to the code I have to welcome them officially but if you're in a hurry… Acting grand master Jean is in the headquarters.” Amber answered Xaviar then looked at the guests. “Seems like you don't need my help. See you later, respectable guests.” She said before going off to her business. “Such…an energetic girl.” Paimon spoke. She hadn't had chance to speak when Amber was there.
“An outrider? She looked too young to be a knight.” Lumine mused. “What's and out rider and why is acting grandmaster the acting grandmaster? What's happened to the grandmaster?” Paimon asked.
As they passed by the Good Hunter, the smell of roasting meat charmed their noses. Paimon gulped down and looked at the lady behind the counter. “Paimon was already hungry when you went after crystaliflies…” She groaned.
“Yay! Let's go eat~” Paimon looked so happy that one would wonder if she had been starving for days. But Lumine shoved an apple in her hands. “We can come back here later. Let's hurry and meet Miss Jean sooner.” She said. Paimon was disappointed but bit into the apple anyway. “It's a promise.” She said to make sure she wasn't going to lose her chance.
(Sure)
Venti was playing his lyre sitting on the edge of a cliff. He was thinking of what had changed Devalin so much and how he could help him. He kept playing his favorite music but it wouldn't work with a normal lyre. “How can I help you when you keep away from me…” he spoke to himself and sighed. “I wish I hadn't left you alone. I thought you'd be happy, living your life freely like the wind…”
Venti stopped playing. He knew the voice. He could just greet him with a smile and say long time no see or it's been a while, but that would be too bland after so many years. And he wasn't going to disappear any soon. So he preferred to pull a little prank to make a memory to laugh later at. “Hello, good friend~ Do you need a bard? You can pay me with apple or wine. Where's the party?” He pretended that he hadn't recognized Xaviar and treated him like a customer.
