How did we end up like this under a burning sky? Some things are
better left unsaid. It's easier to lie. I'm burning, but my heart is on the wire.
Don't need a thousand guards to lock me in. Doesn't take a fool to start a fire.
Solitary spark and wars begin. How did it all come to this?

We stared off as friends. It makes it easy to leave
If we're strangers by the end. You say it's only words.
And that it will get easier with time. Nothing's only words.
It doesn't matter if they're yours or mine. That's how hearts get hurt.

Teagan's whole life people have been telling her that homosexuality is a sin. She didn't believe it was. She always knew she was different, but sometimes she would just do things to please her family. She didn't want them looking down on her, but the moment that she knew she wasn't into men, she had a really hard choice to make. Either please her family, or please herself. For once in her life she was going to make herself happy. She told her family that she wasn't into men, and at first they didn't believe her. They said she was just dealing with a lot cause of college coming up, and she would realize she was talking crazy when classes started.

That had been the night Your Name Here had gotten kicked out of her own home. She told her mother the same thing. She had been dating a male from High School, but she didn't want to put on the mask anymore. She told her mother, and her mother kicked her out then and there. Your Name Here had a really close friend, that knew Teagan as well. This friend was trying her hardest to get Teagan and Your Name Here to go out with each other for months. Neither of them wanted too, but now it was like fate was stepping in, and showing them their path. Your Name Here called up Diana and was going to crash on her couch for the night. Not knowing that across town Teagan was packing up her things as well.

Teagan wasn't going to stand there and let her family talk down to her. She told them straight up that she was lesbian, and they didn't want to believe her. That was when she decided to move out. She didn't really have a place to go, besides Diana's house. While she was packing up her things, she called Diana in tears. Diana agreed to let her crash at her place, and then Diana's plan was rolling. When Teagan shows up and Your Name Here answers the door, is when something clicks in both of their minds. They don't really say anything at first, until Diana is in the room, and looking them both in the eyes, and tapping her foot. This was like a dream come true for Diana. For the other two, it was like a nightmare.

Your Name Here was the first to break the ice and ask what was going on. Diana told them, that it was time they realized their true feelings. They needed to work on things between themselves, and Diana was leaving for the week. She had her things packed, and a list of things for the two to do while she was gone. The moment she was gone, was when they both looked at one another, and both went into different rooms. Because Diana was gone, Teagan took her room, and Your Name Here took the guest room. It was really awkward, because the two had been eyeing each other on campus, but because Teagan came from money, she was a so called snob. Your Name Here came from the wrong side of the tracks and was a so called poor man's daughter.

Now that they are in the same house, they have no choice but to get to know each other. They both have jobs, and they both still go to college, so that's something to be thankful for. That night when neither of them could really sleep, was when they decided to sit down and talk to each other. What'll happen when they really get to know each other? Will they test the waters of a relationship and prove their families wrong? Or will they end up finding someone else in the end? You'll never know unless you join Simple Desires.

The cast of Simple Desires.

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Teagan, I need you to come into the kitchen please"] the sound of her father's voice reaching her ears. She bit the inside of her cheek, as she pushed herself up and to her feet. That's not a good sign. She made her way to the kitchen from the living room, and she spotted her parents at the table. [#FFBBBB "Yes daddy?"] she asked when she walked in. The male looked up and crossed his arms over his chest, locking his eyes on his daughters. The silence was getting to her, and she didn't like it.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Your mother and I have been talking. We both feel like it's time you either start dating the man we chose for you, or you need to start talking and tell us what you want to do with your life. We are getting tired of you sitting around the house and moping"] the male snapped. That seemed to sting a little bit. Teagan hadn't heard her father use that kind of tone with her. She moved over to a chair and she sat down. [#FFBBBB "I don't know what you want me to say"] she admitted.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [i "Are you dating anyone right now Teagan? Or are you just wanting to enjoy the single life? Your father and I want nothing but the best for you"] her mother said lightly. Teagan sighed a little bit. It was time she came clean. She didn't want it playing out like this, but what other choice did she have? She took a breath and started talking. [#FFBBBB "Momma, daddy I have something to tell you, and I honestly don't know how to put it all into words. I don't want you hating me though"] she said lightly.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 When neither of her parents spoke, that gave her the green light. She took a breath and started talking once more. [#FFBBBB "I'm not dating anyone, because I haven't found the right girl for me.. I know you've taught me that homosexuality is a sin, but I don't see it like that. I see it as loving someone for who they are. I'm not straight like you thought I was. I'm a lesbian"] she said. She looked between her parents, and her father was the first one to break the silence.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "No child of mine will be into the same sex as themselves. You need to get a bag, and leave. Right now"] he said. The anger in his voice, and the look in his eyes scared the woman a little bit. She looked towards her mother, and her mother shook her head. [i "I have to agree with your father."] she said her voice cracking. Teagan stood, and put her hands onto the table, looking at both of her parents. [#FFBBBB "I hope you both are happy with yourselves"] she hissed, before turning on her heel and storming out.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 She went straight to her bedroom, slammed her door closed and grabbed her duffle bag out of the closet. She heard her phone buzzing, and she walked over to the dresser where it was charging. [b [i Gan! Come on, it's time we get out dance on! Make sure you have your sexy dress, cause we are going to a homosexual bar!]] the message read. Teagan shook her head lightly, as she unplugged the phone from the charger and started typing away. [#FFBBBB [i It's like your read my mind. I need to talk to you though first.]] was all she sent.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 She grabbed her charger from the wall, tore open her dresser drawers and started throwing her clothes into her duffle bag. She then found her suitcase, and started packing that up as well. What other choice did she have? She bit the inside of her cheek, trying not to break out into tears. Her parents pretty much disowned her, and that hurt more than anything. She wanted nothing more than to talk to her mother about this, but her mother was against her too.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 When she had everything packed up, she made sure her closet was cleaned out too. She then zipped up her bags, and grabbed her wallet. She made sure her bank card was inside, and she walked out of the room. Her mother was standing in the hallway, her hands folded. [i "Please don't be mad at me"] she breathed out. Teagan turned her eyes to her. [#FFBBBB "You were supposed to protect me, not throw me out. You no longer have a daughter"] she snapped, as she brushed past the older woman. Her heart breaking inside of her chest.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 She made her way to her car, she then threw her things into the back of the car, and climbed in behind the wheel. She started the car and pulled out of the driveway. She then sent another message to Diana. [#FFBBBB [i I'm on my way over. I'll see you soon.]] was all she sent. She tossed her phone onto the seat beside her, and headed into town. A couple minutes later she pulled up to Diana's house, and she shut off the car and climbed out. She left her things in the car for the time being.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Diana was already standing there with open arms. [b [i "Oh sweetheart, whatever happened I'm sorry"]] she said wrapping Teagan into her arms. She then led the woman into the house, and closed the door. [b [i "I have another friend coming over, it's going to be a girls night"]] she said lightly. Teagan nodded a bit. [#FFBBBB "That's fine"] was all she said. She moved over to the couch, sat down, and the tears started to fall. She was homeless, and broken. Her own parents didn't want anything to do with her, and she didn't have anywhere else to go.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 When she got herself under control a little bit, she looked towards Diana. [#FFBBBB "So who's this other friend of yours?"] she asked. Diana smirked a bit and shrugged. [b [i "You kind of know her, but not really. You'll like her though. She should be here soon"]] she said lightly. Sure enough the doorbell rang, and Diana went to answer it. Teagan took a breath, and looked up. Her breath caught in her throat at the sight of the other woman with Diana. She smiled lightly and stayed where she was.]]

[font "Times New Roman" [size14 [center [b [i "ADALINA! GET YOUR ASS IN HERE!"]] her mother cried out from the kitchen. Ada sighed harshly and rolled her eyes as she stood from her bed in her room and made her way through the small house to the kitchen. Her mother stood at the stove, though she wasn't cooking anything. She had the landline in her hand, one of those old cordless pieces that you had to remember to set back on the hook to charge. Her mother never liked cell phones, not even the cheap ones you could get. Her mother was making a face at the phone, a clenched jaw that made a vein her temple pop when she was truly pissed. Already Ada knew this wasn't going to end well. She propped herself against the doorway of the kitchen and crossed her arms under her chest. [b [i "Do you mind explaining to me why your boyfriend thought to call me to tell me that my daughter was harassing him? What the hell is going on?!"]

[b [i "I was NOT harassing him! And he isn't my boyfriend anymore, I called shit off...."]]

[b [i "Why? He's good looking, has a great career going, you could finally get out of this craphole we call home. You could make something decent of yourself! Instead of thinking its ok to run around looking like some grungy, oil stained hippie working at the garage! A woman mechanic.... honestly?! You are to call him back, and tell him that you were wrong. Claim you were PMSing or whatever, but you fix this now!"]] Adalina pushed from the doorway in anger and exasperation as she looked to her mother.

[b [i "No way in hell! You want to know why I ended it?! He wanted me to sleep with him! For no other reason than to brag to his office buddies! When I said no, he started harassing ME! He's lucky all I did was knee his boys! I could have gone to the cops for attempted rape!"]]

[b [i "Oh please, you're no virgin.... and so what if he wanted a little ass? What would it have hurt? That's how men are! You're just being selfish!"]]

[b [i "Then YOU go sleep with him! I'm done with him, and I'm done with men!"]] Ada cried out and immediately regretted it. Or did she? Any man she got with was going to want to hook up sooner or later, and she just didn't want that. She was so tired of hiding it, it was becoming exhausting. [b [i "I'm done with men...."]] she said again, softer, as if making it more true this time.

[b [i "The hell is that supposed to mean?!"]]

[b [i "It means exactly that, Mom. I'm tired of..... of the lies.... and... I can't do this anymore..... I don't like men! I gave it a serious go, even lost my virginity!! But its just..... not who I am.... That's why I broke things off with that asshole.... You really think that creep would have ever married me anyway? Play nice like some Lady while I hide the grease and oil under my nails? Please.... if you want to hoe around for money and power, then do it yourself...."]] Her mother was quiet a moment, simply staring at Ada. She waited for her to say something, and when her mother spoke up, it was about what she had expected.

[b [i ".....get out..... get the hell.... out... of my house.... NOW!"]] The last word accentuated with her mother throwing the cordless phone at her. [b [i "You're no daughter of mine! You ungrateful abomination!!"]] Ada ducked from the phone and shook her head in disgust at her mother. Without a word she flipped her off and walked to her room, throwing her things into a few bags, though it was mostly clothes as she didn't have much to begin with. She picked up her cell and shot Diana a text.

[i Hey Di, cat's outta the bag here. Been dropped. Taking you up on the crash pad offer. On my way.]

She didn't wait for an answer, simply finished packing. She even pulled a board loose form her wall in the closet and pulled out a box she'd been stashing some extra cash in that her mother wouldn't find. Packing that away, too, she made sure that she took her Grandmother's jewelry - what little the woman had - so that her mother didn't have the chance to pawn it off for the cash. Without another word, Ada took up her bags - a duffel and a backpack - and left the house, leaving the house key on the floor in the living room, and slamming the door behind her. Diana's place was about an hour's walk since she didn't have a car. She had always used her mother's, but she was sure the garage had a loaner she could borrow until she could manage to afford one of her own.

When she finally made it to Diana's she rang the doorbell and sighed pushing some hair from her face as she waited. The door opened, and Di answered cheerily. When the woman stepped back to let her in, she took a few steps before realizing they weren't alone. [b [i "Ah, hell, Di... I didn't know you had comp-" she stopped as she really looked to the woman waiting there. [i 'Ah, hell....'] she thought to herself with a mental groan.

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 When Diana opened the door, Teagan walked into the house and dropped her things in the middle of the living room. [b "Talk to me Tea, what going on?"] Diana asked as she made herself comfortable on the couch. Her phone went off and she read the message from Adalna, and smirked lightly. [b [i You know you are more than welcome here! I have the spare bedrooms after all. I'll see you soon.]] She then hit send and turned back to Teagan. The woman threw her hands up in the air, and blew out a breath.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#FFBBBB "I honestly don't know where to start.. Daddy seemed really chill about everything, but momma.. Momma was a different story. The moment the words left my mouth, momma was kicking me out. I feel like I'm lost, and I sure as hell don't know what to do.."] she admitted. She walked over and sat down beside Diana, and put her head into her hands, trying to fight back the panic attack she felt coming on. Diana reached over and touched the woman's back lightly. [b "Everything's okay Tea, I promise you. You are safe here"] she said softly.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 That's when there was another knock on the door a few minutes later. Teagan's head snapped up as Diana moved towards the door and opened it. [b "Hello Ada"] she said as she opened the door and let the other woman in. She shook her head lightly and nodded towards Teagan. [b "Don't worry about a thing. You both are safe here with me. That and you both have something in common as well"] she said with a clap of her hands. She let out a small squeek and shut the door behind Ada.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b Adalina I want you to meet Teagan. Teagan this is Adalina, another really good friend of mine. I'm sorry to cut this super short, and I know you both need me, [i but] I have plans with my boyfriend, so you both make yourselves at home"] she said with a grin. Teagan's heart skipped a beat as she took in the sight of the other woman. She wasn't gonna lie, the woman was breathtaking, and her heart seemed to skip a beat, but she was at a loss for words all of a sudden. She wasn't expecting someone else to be here.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 She then realized that the silence was streaching out longer than it should have, and she finally spoke up. [#FFBBBB "It's nice to meet you Adalina.. Like Diana said I'm Teagan"] she said softly as she wrapped her arms around herself. She didn't like the fact they were alone. She could hear Diana in her room getting ready for her night out. What was the woman planning anyway? She couldn't help but wonder that. She looked down at her hands in her lap, and bit the inside of her cheek, falling silent once more.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 A few minutes later Diana walked out in a really skimpy dress, her hair piled on top of her head, and her makeup done. She put her hands on her hips and looked between the two women. [b "So, Maverick and I are planning on going away this weekend, so you both have the house to yourselves. Just make sure you clean up after yourselves, and if you have company over, make sure they are gone at a decent time. I don't want to come home and find my house trashed"] she said with a teasing grin on her face.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#FFBBBB "Diana.. Do you really think it wise to leave Adalina and I here alone?"] she asked, her voice shaking slightly. Diana nodded and looked between the two of them. [b "I trust the both of you with my life. So there's nothing to worry about."] she said with a smile. She walked over and hugged Adalina first, and then Teagan. [b "I'll see you both in a couple days"] she cooed, and then grabbed her things and hurried out of the house, closing the door behind her, leaving the two strangers alone.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Teagan was a little surprised, and when the front door closed, she looked towards the stranger before speaking again. [#FFBBBB "So what do we do now?"] she asked softly. She then fell silent not knowing what else to say.]]

[font "Times New Roman" [size14 [center Adalina hadn't been expecting an extra house guest. She couldn't gripe about it, it wasn't her house, even if she was staying here, but she could get upset about the fact that she wasn't warned. She watched Diana whirl around with introductions and then springing the weekend trip on them. Sure, Diana had the spare rooms, there was room for the both of them, but Ada felt there was more to this. [b [i "Whoa, whoa...."]] but before she could finish her words, Diana was in her room getting ready.

Ada started to walk towards one of the guest rooms and stumbled a bit over a bag simply thrown in the middle of the floor. She looked to the bags and then to the woman named Teagan. She was beautiful, Ada could admit that. But she had seen the woman around town here and there. She was one of those rich girls. Her looks and family ties and money got her whatever she wanted. That didn't go well with Ada. She was raised over making her own money, standing on her own. Which was why her mother pushing her to marry someone over money instead of love irritated her so much. Her mother had only been with her father for his money, and that made things hard when her father passed, and they didn't have money left. He'd passed when she was only a little girl.

Ada slid the bags in her way to the side with her foot and continued on to one of the guest rooms, officially claiming one, and tossed her bags in on the bed before coming back out to wait for Diana. The woman, Teagan, was still in the same place, apparently waiting for Diana as well. When she finally came out, she was dressed to kill. And toting a weekend bag. Diana said how they were leaving for the weekend, and it would just be Teagan and herself for the weekend. The only upside was that Ada worked on the weekends, so there would be a chance to get out of the house and not seem obvious about it. Diana was a whirlwind as she gave her house rules and then took off out the door for her weekend getaway.

Ada stared at the door a moment or so after she had seen the headlights of Di's car take off. She was clenching her jaw to keep her hotheadedness in check. She wasn't mad at Di or this Teagan woman, she was just irritated at the whole situation. She wasn't sure how long the silence had settled when Teagan spoke up of what to do next. Ada looked to her a moment before sighing and deciding to answer so she didn't come off as too much of a bitch. She was trying to keep her anger at her mother under control.

[b [i "I don't know about you..... but I've had a shit day.... So I plan to have a few drinks.... and probably crash as I have to work in the morning.... "]] [i '....and since I have no car, I'll have to get up extra early to walk there.....'] She thought to herself that last bit. [b [i ".....might order pizza..... if you tell me what kind you like, I'll get you one, too...... then I'm gonna shower....."]] She said as she pulled out her phone to tap in the order on the app of her phone, before looking to Teagan expectedly for her order.
StolenRelics-ѕιмple   63d ago

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Teagan was a little upset that Diana had pretty much bailed on them both. She sighed lightly when she realized her bags were in the middle of the room, and she was about to grab them when Adalina just pushed them aside. She shrugged it off, not really caring at the moment. So far things were getting off on the wrong foot. She chewed on her lower lip lightly, as she sat down on the couch, waiting for the other to come back. She might as well let Adalina have first choice of the guest rooms.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 When the woman came back, and started speaking. She could hear the tone of the woman's voice. It was kind of rubbing her the wrong way, and she wasn't in the mood to deal with the woman's attitude right then. [#FFBBBB "I mean I'm fine with whatever. If you'd like we can go and pick it up, and get some booze as well, cause I know Diana doesn't have any booze in the house"] she offered. She wouldn't mind driving into town to get the food and drinks. It was the best offer, cause Adalina was ordering food after all.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#FFBBBB "In answer to your statement about a shitty day, yes it's been terrible, so booze, and pizza sound good. Since you are ordering the food, I'll buy the drinks. Let's go"] she said as she stood and grabbed her keys, and then slipped her feet into her shoes once more. She opened the door and stepped out into the cool night air. The cool air felt amazing on her skin. She just hoped that Adalina wasn't going to have the attitude the whole night, but she would keep herself in check though, and not let it get to her.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 She unlocked the car, and slid in behind the wheel. When Adalina was tucked in the passenger seat, she started up the car and pulled away from the curb. [#FFBBBB "If you want, I can take you to work in the morning, I heard it's supposed to rain tonight, and turn into snow by morning. Just let me know what time you need to be in, and I'll be up and ready to go"] she offered. As she headed into town, the silence washed over them, her head spinning slightly.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 She couldn't help but wonder what had made the other's day so horrible, and she was curious. She knew better than to ask though, so she bit her tongue. When the liquor store as in view, she pulled into the parking lot, shut off the car and turned to the woman in the darkness. [#FFBBBB "What's your poison? Wine, beer, or something fruity?"] she asked. Hell knowing her, she would get all three if she needed too. She waited for the other to tell her what she was in the mood for. The warmth of the car, relaxed her a bit. Maybe tonight won't be so bad after all.]]

[font "Times New Roman" [size14 [center Ada looked at Teagan as she said she was good with anything, and so she put in for a couple large meat lovers with extra sauce for pick up. She mentioned getting booze and Ada's look softened. Ok, so the princess wasn't too terrible. Ada didn't like being given orders, but she brushed it off as she followed Teagan out to her car. She sat in the passenger seat, pulling her coat closer around her to stave off the cold until the heater in the car kicked on. A glance at the woman while she pulled out of the drive had Ada sighing to herself. She put a hand to the back of her neck as she stretched to try and release the tension from it.

Teagan spoke up as they drove, about taking her to work. Ada would have started to decline, but at the thought of it snowing overnight had her grimacing. [b "I.... yeah...... sure. I normally don't have to be in until nine, but I have a car that needs to be finished tomorrow so I planned to go in early to button it up.... think you can be ready to go by seven? If you drive me, I can be there by seven-thirty...."] The ride after that was quiet, Ada didn't really know what more to say to her, so she just stared out the window and watched all the houses pass by. So many lives going on without her and her drama. It was a bit surreal to think on, and she decided to ignore it. Their lives weren't her problem, just as hers wasn't theirs. When they finally pulled into the lot for the liquor store, Teagan started asking what she was into. Ada wasn't used to this store; this was bigger than the one near her home- her old home. [b "I don't know this store... I'll come in and take a look around before deciding. I don't do beer though, tastes like piss...."] she said as she unbuckled and started to get out of the car before stopping and turning back to Teagan, though she didn't meet her gaze. [b ".... I'm... sorry.... for being a bitch. I don't handle my anger very well.... and it's hard for me to remember that not everyone's lives are as happy and perfect as they look, even if they are better off than I am.... I'm sorry you're having a shit night, too......"] saying nothing more she got out of the car and pulled the zipper up more on her brown leather jacket. [b "I hate the cold...."] she murmured with a slight growl to herself as she walked into the store.

The clerk called a cheery hello, and she just lifted a hand in a wave. She wandered the shelves, sorting through all the fruitier drinks. She didn't mind them, but sometimes they were too sticky sweet and hard to swallow. She wandered a bit further in and began to find the stronger Rums and Vodkas. [b "Here we go...."] She would chew on the corner of her bottom lip as she tried to decide mentally. Malibu was good, though usually needed a mixer. Captain Morgan was good, though sometimes the burn was a bit much. Bacardi was the easiest to swallow, though sometimes too easily, and if she ended up going into work that hungover again, she'd probably lose a finger. Not to mention she didn't like worshipping the Porcelain Gods. She followed the shelves until she found a section of Everclear. She couldn't remember the last time she'd had that. A grin took her face, and she sorted bottles until she found the right one, then grabbed a couple of juices to mix into it. She held her choices as she waited for Teagan to make hers and then would follow her to the counter. The clerk kept eyeing her and she gave a sneer before opening her jacket up to reveal her slightly tight top to show she hadn't stolen anything. She was used to it.]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Teagan understood how the female was feeling. She was in a bad place as well, and she wasn't about to let someone else walk all over her. Before they entered, she heard the woman's apology and it warmed her heart a bit. Maybe things could turn out a bit better. They had gotten there before she could tell the woman she'd be ready by seven tomorrow morning. When they were inside, she watched as the other walked off to find what she liked. She went down the wine aisle, and found her favorite one, and picked it up.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 She picked up a couple of wine coolers as well, and then waited for Adalina to join her. The two went to the counter, and Teagan saw the way the clerk was looking at Ada, and it rubbed her the wrong way. [#FFBBBB "You do know it's cold outside right? Just because someone has their jacket zipped up, doesn't mean they stole anything"] she snapped. The clerk turned her attention to Teagan, and she rolled her eyes. [b "It's just something we have to do is all"] the other said as she started ringing the two of them out.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Tegan narrowed her eyes as she looked the woman up and down. [#FFBBBB "No it's not. Because you didn't give me that same look"] she said trying to keep her temper in check. [b "That's because you don't look like her [i kind]. The kind of people who will steal right out from under your nose"] she said, as she finished ringing up their order. Teagan pulled her card out and paid for the booze, and then she reached for the bags, and looked the clerk dead in the eyes. Her temper showing a bit more.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#FFBBBB "You don't know what a person's life is like. So don't go around judging someone without getting to know them"] she hissed. She then grabbed Ada's arm and led her out of the liquor store and back to the car. She unlocked the doors and put the bags into the back of the car, and then made sure Ada was tucked away first, before sliding in behind the wheel herself. She started up the car, slammed the door shut, backed out of the parking stall, and headed towards the pizza place.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#FFBBBB "I'm sorry about that back there. People shouldn't judge someone without walking in their shoes. And for being ready by seven tomorrow morning, I'll be up and ready to take you wherever you need to go"] she said with a note of promise in her voice. When the pizza parlor was in view, she pulled into the parking lot, found an open spot, parked the car, left it running and ran inside to pick up their food. It was getting colder the longer they were out and about. Plus she wasn't in the mood to deal with more people either.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 At the counter she gave the name on the order, and then picked up the boxes and headed back to the car. She put the pizza in the back, and slid in behind the wheel once more. She kept silent the rest of the way back to the house, her mind reeling from how Ada had been treated.]]

[font "Times New Roman" [size14 [center Ada had met up with Teagan at the counter, and when she had unzipped her leather to show that she wasn't stealing, Teagan spoke up in Ada's favor which surprised her. She didn't expect the woman to say anything about it. Instead, she took up for Ada. When the woman at the counter sneered about Ada's [i kind], she was ready to jump the counter on the snooty bitch. But Teagan pulled Ada to the door by her arm, so she took her free hand and flipped the woman off at the counter. Once they were outside again, Ada rezipped her jacket, she really hated being cold.

Once they were back in the car and on the road to the pizza place, Piscary's Pizzeria, Teagan started apologizing for the prick in the liquor store. Ada shook her head and waved her off. [b "Forget about it... I'm used to douchebags judging me just because I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks..... literally. I was a block away from the rail yard."] She shrugged and pulled out her cell to scroll through social media as Teagan drove. When they reached Piscary's, Ada sat in the car where it was warm while Teagan went in to get the food. It had been paid for through the app already, so all she had to do was pick it up. Once it was in the car, the entire interior smelled like marinara, garlic, and cheese. It made her mouth water. She was so ready to get back to the house, maybe grab a shower before eating, so she could chase the chill off her.

The drive back was silent, sure Ada was mad, but she had other problems to deal with. She had sent a text or two bitching at Di for how she did her and Teagan, and even threatened to overwater her house plants while she was gone. It had been a joke, Di's plants were plastic. After some thought she gave a light nod. [b "When we get back, I want to jump in the shower before I get smashed.... Otherwise it takes forever for me to warm back up. Winter needs to hurry up and go away...."] The last bit was a grumble to herself. Once they were back, she helped pack the food and drinks into the house, setting things up in the living room. [b "If you grab some cups and napkins from the kitchen, I'll go shower. Won't be long."] She had been speaking while walking, so by the time she had reached her room and shut the door, she had stripped out of her shoes, socks, jacket, and her shirt before closing the door.

Once in her room, she stripped down completely, took a hot shower to warm her body back up, then dressed her panties and an oversized band T-shirt that hung off one shoulder from its size, and reached her at mid-thigh. After brushing her curls, and wrapping them in one of her scarves, she made her way into the living room to sit on the couch with one leg tucked beneath her and began mixing drinks without a second thought.

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 The silence that filled the car wasn't awkward, at least not to Tegan it wasn't. She was still pissed of with how Ada was treated. Just because she looked the way she did, didn't mean she was a bad person. She bit the inside of her cheek lightly as she drove. When they were back at the house she shut the car off, and grabbed one of the bags and headed inside. [#FFBBBB "Oh, of course. I don't blame you for hating winter"] she said with a small smile. She herself didn't enjoy it either, but didn't show it.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 While Ada was showering her phone went off. She reached for it, and fished it out of her pocket. She read the message from Diana, and rolled her eyes. Diana wasn't one to take bullshit, and she made it clear. [b [i I know you and Ada feel cheated with me dipping, but I felt like you both needed each other. You both are going through something I could never dream of. Both of your families are fucked up, and I'm sending Ada the same message as you are getting Tea. Just try to make the best of it.]]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b [i If I didn't trust either of you, I wouldn't have left you both alone. Trust me. You both need each other more than you know. I love you Tea, and just make sure the house is clean. I'll be home in a couple days.]] Teagan read the message over a couple of times. Where had that come from? She shrugged lightly as she replied back. [#FFBBBB [i Everything's going okay, thanks for asking. I'll make sure the house is picked up, I promise. Thank you for being an amazing friend Diana.]]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#FFBBBB [i I know I don't say it often, but you really are a life saver. I'll see you in a couple of days. I love you too.]] She read the message a couple times, before finally sending it. She could still hear the shower running, and wondered what had set Diana off like that. She wouldn't bother Ada about it though, it wasn't any of her business anyway. She found the paper plates, napkins, and red solo cups, and carried them into the living room. She set the stack down onto the table, and then kicked her shoes off.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 She sat on the couch, and leaned her head back. Everything was messed up, she felt like she was lost, and she knew Diana had a good heart, and she didn't know how Ada really felt. Was she just pretending to like her? Was she, herself trying too hard to have someone like her? There was so many different things running around in her mind, that she didn't hear Ada come into the living room, until the woman was on the couch making drinks. She lifted her head and looked towards the woman. Her breath caught in her throat.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Seeing the woman in nothing but an over sized t-shirt set her heart racing. What was happening here? She shook her head lightly as she nodded towards the drink she was making. [#FFBBBB "What are you creating?"] she asked softly, as she fought to keep her eyes from wandering to the woman's bare thighs, trying to keep her cool was going to be harder than she thought.]]

[font "Times New Roman" [size14 [center Adalina began mixing drinks and waited for Teagan to speak up of what she wanted. She had noted the woman on the couch with her eyes closed and had wondered if she was already tired. If so, drinking wouldn't get very far. She was mixing her liquor with the various juices and created something that looked vaguely tropical. When Teagan spoke up, she glanced up at her and made a second one handing it to her to try. [b "I call it 'Fuck the beach'...."] she smirked. It was a play on words as well as an actual meaning. She had found when she started drinking, that she could make her drinks taste like wherever she wanted to be any time of the year.

She was also really good at masking the taste of alcohol most of the time, so she could be three drinks in before she feels the alcohol taking effect. She took a long drink of her own cup before opening the pizzas and grabbing a few slices onto her plate. She leaned back in her seat on the couch as she at her slices, grabbing one of the marinara dipping sauces they had lined the boxes with. She resituated to sit with her feet tucked under her.

[b "So...."] She started around a bite of pizza. [b "How did you come to know Di?"] she asked, trying to make conversation. She got through a slice and a half of her pizza before she finished her drink and made a new one to replace it. She was starting to feel it's warmth and began to relax. Waiting for Teagan to answer, she would pick toppings off here or there between bites, or dunk a dry part into the sauce before eating it.

It felt good to let the buzz of alcohol take the edge of the day off of her. She was sure she would have to take extra hours at the shop to be able to start affording things on her own. Di wouldn't be able to let her stay here forever. She needed to start figuring her situation out. She would pay Teagan gas money for the trips to or from somewhere. She didn't believe in free rides, even if offered. She didn't like being in debt to someone, and she didn't want Teagan to end up thinking that she was taking advantage of her in the end either.
