[center The last thing Evelyn Gardner wanted to be doing after finding her fiance of three years cheating on her was go out to a bar and get drunk. Unfortunately for her, that's exactly what she was doing. Her best friend Lydia had insisted that the two of them get out and try to loosen up, possibly make some bad decisions in order to forget about "that worthless bastard," as she had stated once the two were leaving her apartment. Evie had been sitting on the couch, watching some kind of cheesy rom-com when Lydia had even suggested the idea, curled up under a blanket in a pair of sweat pants and oversized t-shirt she'd been allowed to borrow from her best friend's husband.] [center Now, here she was, an hour and a half later, dressed in a black mini dress and matching heels that she could barely walk in, casually sipping on a glass of whiskey as her friend danced all around the floor. She had tried to pull the brunette out onto the floor with her, but she had convinced her to let her stay behind.] [center She appreciated the girls' efforts to try and make her feel better, but it wasn't as easy and she wanted it to be. She had really thought she'd found the one, having bought the wedding dress and everything. Their wedding had been scheduled for three months to the day. Instead of making last-minute changes or triple checking every detail, she had spent her morning canceling every reservation that had been made, making sure they charged his card for any cancellation fees.] [center Groaning, she laid her head down on the table, forcing herself to swallow the lump in her throat. It would be so bad if she knew she didn't have to see the woman he had cheated on her with at her job. For months, she'd sat next to the desk of Kate, with who she'd discussed wedding ideas, had brought with to look at dresses, and who was even a bridesmaid. It was painful knowing now that the whole time she had been her friend, she had been sleeping with the man Evie was supposed to marry.] [center Hearing her ringtone begin blaring from her purse, she sat up and pulled it out, rolling her eyes as his name appeared across her screen. Declining the call, she shut the phone off, finally tired of listening to the stupid love song that played.]

Being a notorious mafia boss had its perks and then it also had its downfall. The male constantly watched people die. That part didn't bug him too much, because most of the time people crossed him. He doesn't do well with someone that crosses him.  Benjamin has lived this life for a very long time. He learned from the best. His father. Unfortunately, his father passed away. So that is why he had to take the throne basically. At first when he started all of this, he hated it. He didn't even like the idea of killing people. Someone would've thought that was going to be a major problem. But... It was. At first.  It was another long day. Another long list of people that screwed him over. Another long list of people that had to die. Everyone in this town knew exactly who he was. He was definitely someone you didn't want to mess with. And a lot of people knew that. Benjamin looked down at his watch and saw the time. He wanted some fresh meat. Benjamin has had his eye on someone, but he hasn't attempted to approach her. There was something about her that caught his interest. And he wanted to investigate and find out more.  He knew that this female was going to the bar tonight. He just wasn't sure how this was going to go. But he knew if he didn't attempt something now, it probably wouldn't go anywhere. But he knew it wouldn't hurt to try.  Benjamin looked at himself in the mirror and decided he would go without the jacket that went with his suit. He didn't want to scare people away. He headed for the bar. When he got there, he saw that there was a lot of vehicles there. He groaned, as he eventually found a parking spot, and sat around the same area as the female. He was watching as she scrambling to grab the ringing phone. But notice how she ignored it. Benjamin felt like this was the right time.  He took a sip on his whiskey, and then looked at her with dark eyes. [b "Rough night?"]

[center Evelyn wasn't much of a drinker. She never had been. It was one of the things her ex-fiance had supposedly loved about her. [i [b "I never have to worry about you getting drunk and falling into some stranger's bed!"]] He'd always said it in a joking tone. Who knew that he'd finally be the one falling into someone's bed... She groaned and rested her head on the bar, closing her eyes for a moment. She needed to drown out the pain. This was beginning to feel like too much right now. Maybe she should've stayed home.] [center [b [i "Rough night?"]] Her head snapped up, blue eyes wide as she looked at the stranger beside her. How long had he been sitting there? How had she not noticed? Letting out a sigh, and shrugged and ran a hand through her hair. [b "You could say that,"] she said with a bitter laugh. Flagging down the bartender, she asked for a shot of tequila before she glanced at the man again. He was handsome, that much she would admit, and there was a tense air about him. His intense gaze caused her skin to prickle just a little. He almost seemed dangerous.] [center Tearing her eyes away, she grabbed at the shot glass that was placed before her and quickly downed it, shivering as the liquid burned down her throat and to her stomach. [b "It'll get better eventually,"] she said with a dismissive wave of her hand. [b "No need to worry about little ole' me, though I do appreciate you asking."] She wouldn't bore this handsome man with her tragic life story. It most definitely wouldn't be fair.]

Benjamin couldn't seem to take his eyes off of her. Even though, he already knew about her, he had to act like he didn't. He was watching her as sometimes she was in her own head. It didn't seem to bother him too much.  Benjamin could tell her that she had no idea that he was sitting down next to her. He could only tell from her jumping from his words. He chuckled lightly, and then noticed her eyes were basically glued to him. He wanted this to work. Not only was it going to be a distraction from his day, but there was more motive behind it all. He just had to make sure that he didn't let that part slip.  Benjamin listened to her talk, and watched as she chugged that tequila. Benjamin's eyes got a bit wide as he continued to sip on his drink. Benjamin was no fool, but he could see that she definitely was having a rough night. And the fact that she is chuckling at her own despair. This female definitely was going through something.  [b "I mean, you just chugged a pretty strong shot."] He ordered her another drink. He was never one to pressure her into talking. But he knew how the alcohol worked in someone's system. [b "Will it get better though? Maybe eventually."]  One thing he loved is when a female eyes him she was eying him. He got pure enjoyment out of someone looking at him like he was eye candy. He just needed her to drink more, so he could really start on his plan. The nice thing about a hot mafia boss. Usually, he gets in bed a lot of women. She was defientely his prey for the night.

[center A faint blush painted Evelyn's cheeks as she looked away, a little embarrassed. [b "I suppose I did,"] she said with a soft chuckle, though it sounded a little bitter. Surly he wouldn't blame her if he knew. She then shrugged before she rested her elbow on the bar top, placing her cheek in her hand. Tears threatened to appear in the corners of her eyes but she quickly blinked them away. [b "It'll get better with time. Right now, however? It hurts like a bitch and I just want the pain to go away."] With that, she ordered another shot, downing it just as fast as she had the last one.] [center [b "My fiance,"] a pause, [b "no, [i ex]-fiance, decided to cheat on me by sleeping with my best friend and coworker, who, might I add, is pregnant. That was a fun little announcement she made a few days ago. I was excited for her. I thought she and her boyfriend were finally taking the next step."] She sighed. [b "Nope. Turns out she was just shacking up with mine. I'm not even sure her other half knows yet. Doesn't help that I had to walk in on the two of them."]] [center The words came tumbling out so fast that she didn't even realize right away that she'd done the one thing she'd just told herself she wasn't going to do. [i Son of a...] [b "I'm sorry,"] she said a moment later. [b "I wasn't supposed to tell you all of that. It's not your problem. Just ignore me,"] she said, waving her hand dismissively.]

Benjamin continued to watch her. And with minutes, this female was downing another shot. [i My type of woman...] He shook the thought from his head. He could not get himself entangled in any type of relationship right now.  Benjamin realized that the alcohol was hitting her hard, when she blurted out what was going on with her. It was a lot to take in. He had to sit there and think for a moment. [b "You could tell the other half, you know."] Benjamin was all about revenge and pain. And if this female was pregnant, she would have to figure out if it was her current boyfriend or her little side lover she had. Benjamin was thinking about it all. He wasn't sure if she was going to like the idea of telling the other party. It would be wise too.  Benjamin watched as she realized what she just said. Benjamin wasn't supposed to know any of that. But he didn't really mind. But now he really needed to think about his options. Did he really want to go through with his plan? This female has already been enough. And bringing her into the mafia family. He was doubting everything he thought. He wasn't for sure if she would be cut out of this. He already felt like she thought it was a big mistake that people thought she could be part of the mafia family.  [b "No no. You have to speak about it with someone. Why not a stranger that you probably won't ever see again after tonight?"] Unfortunately, that last part wasn't all true. But right now, what she doesn't know won't kill her.

[center Admittedly, the thought [i had] crossed Evies' mind. It wasn't like she didn't have the boyfriend's number. There had been many a time they had messaged each other back and forth for advice on what to get their significant other when it came to birthdays and the like. She liked to think that she and Carter were fairly good friends. She, however, wasn't quite sure that he would believe her. Not without some sort of proof, which she didn't have much of. The only thing she had right now were the apologies Josh was sending, and even then, they only showed that he had cheated. Not with who.] [center [b "I would, I really would, but I have no way to back up those accusations outside of what I saw. I could tell him to demand a paternity test once the baby is born, before he signs anything. If she denies it then he'll know, but that's still months away. It won't be as satisfying as it would be right now."] She could feel the slight buzz coming on now. It wasn't enough to say that she was drunk, but it was enough to make her feel just a little bit better.] [center She glanced at Benjamin again, raising a brow. He really didn't mind her rambling on about it? She was surprised. She would've thought most people would. [b "I... thank you. I appreciate that."] He also made a good point. There was a really good chance she wouldn't see him again, and even if she did, surely it would only be in passing, like at a store or something.] [center [b "Can I ask you a question?"] She didn't actually wait for his answer before she continued. [b "You're a very handsome man. You could get the attention of any woman in this bar. So why are you talking to me? Is it really because you could tell I wasn't okay? If so, that's very sweet of you."] It was touching, really.]

Benjamin smirked as this female called him handsome. Something about being called that made him really happy. But happy in a way different level. Benjamin took a little sip of his drink as his finger traced around the rim. Benjamin couldn't help but keep his eyes on her. Something about her was alluring.  Benjamin cleared his throat. [b "I like to be a listening ear."] That wasn't really the case. He could care less about someone. But there was a plan in place. And he needed to stick to that plan. Even if that meant being someone who he wasn't at all.  He had a job. And he needed to finish the job. But this kind of job took time. Time he supposedly had tonight. Listening to her talk about how she could talk to the other party about what was going on. [b "I mean, that's what I would do. As heartbreaking that may sound. But that's what I would do."] He shrugged. This was too much drama for him to even remotely think about. That's when he decided to finish off his drink.

[center Evelyn watched the way that he moved his finger along his glass, doing her best to ignore the intrusive thoughts in her mind. Maybe she'd had too much to drink. She normally didn't think about those kinds of things, especially when it came to strangers. It was very out of character for her. She raised a brow as she looked up at him, meeting his gaze for just a moment. [b "Is that so?"] He didn't look like the listening type, but she knew better than anyone that looks could be deceiving.] [center She sighed before she shook her head and ran a hand through her hair. [b "I'm not that petty. I wish I was, I really do, but I'm not. I think I'd feel too guilty even when I don't need to."] The assholes deserved whatever karma would come their way, that much she knew for sure. She, however, didn't think she could be the one to dish it to them. She'd never been a revenge kind of person.] [center Finishing off her own drink, she leaned back in her chair and placed her hands over her face for just a moment. She could definitely feel the alcohol making its way through her system. Not a good thing by any means, and yet a part of her didn't care. It was then that a thought crossed her mind, one that a sober Evie wouldn't have even dared to think about. However, she was feeling a bit on the risky side tonight. It didn't help that she didn't have anyone to tie her down anymore.] [center Sliding out of the chair, she held a hand out to Benjamin, watching him. [b "Why don't you and I take this party to the dance floor?"] she asked, smiling at him. [b "I could do with getting my mind off of the sad shit for a while."] She was not a dancer by any means, but did that really matter, so long as she was having fun?]
MoonlightBeauty_ƒєℓℓ   243d ago

ƒєℓℓ
Benjamin was surprised at her sudden asking him to dance. Benjamin has never ever done this much work for something that she isn't going to enjoy later down the road. Was he actually going to sit here and dance with a female he doesn't even know? Probably.  This is why sometimes he actually hated the job. Benjamin finished the rest of his drink. [I What the hell.] Benjamin put his glass down and looked back over at her. [b "Lets do this. Don't laugh at me."]  Immediately, he grabbed her hand, and they made their way to the dance floor. He still couldn't believe that this is what he is doing. But he didn't have enough time to even think about his own thoughts because next thing he knows is that he is dancing with this female. He just let her dance how she wanted to dance and he was going to follow her lead.  One thing he had to admit, she was definitely fine looking. One where he feel like this plan was going to work out smoothly. And he couldn't wait for everything to work out. He was thinking about everything. How everything was going to work out. His next step was to get in her bed. And he had to figure out how to get in her bed. She was pretty drunk, so he was pretty sure this next part wasn't going to take much work. But hey, she might make him work for it.

[center Evie watched the man before her, practically batting her eyelashes. She would bite her lower lip just a little, keeping her hand out as she waited for him to say yes. In the back of her mind, she could hear the sirens going off, warning her to step away and go home. She knew that nothing good would come of this, surely, and yet she continued to hold her hand out, ignoring each bell that was going off.] [center A smile quickly broke out across her face when he finally agreed, enjoying the warmth of his hand in hers. She tugged on him a little, taking him to the dance floor with that grin still on her face. On the dance floor, she really let herself relax. Now, she didn’t act like she was a pole dancer or anything. She wasn’t [i that] far gone. Still, she laced her fingers with his, dancing him with as best she could without tripping over her own two feet.] [center [b “You know, I won’t judge you for how you dance, but I [i will] judge you if you can’t have a little fun with it,”] she said with another smile, stopping long enough to look up at him. Her smile turned into a frown just a moment before she reached up, tapping his nose with her finger. [b “You really are quite handsome. How is it that you’re here alone?”] Sober Evie never would’ve asked that question. Sober Evie would have gone home to cry it all out.] [center Quite the shame that Sober Evelyn was currently taking a nap while Drunk Evelyn flirted with a stranger.]
