The night of the annual purge arrives, and Y/C is off to seek revenge on the drunk driver who killed their mother/father/girlfriend/daughter or whatever, when she/he comes across M/C who is fighting off some people but there was to many of them. After a few moments of pondering if they should help M/C or not, they finally decided to help M/C out since it was the right thing to do, M/C was armed and Y/C was armed as well. Y/C and M/C mangged to kill the other people, now that M/C's home has been invaded she/he has nowhere to go but Y/C asked them if M/C wants to stay with them for the night, M/C agreed to the offer. The two can bicker as a result of their contrasting personalities, but they become closer and build trust in each other. That's where the people overthrow the system and the purge continues even after the 12 hours are up so Y/C and M/C have to stick together in order to survive and they can learn about each other along the way.
