Note; Please do not request into the thread until I give you the go ahead. If you do request before getting the okay I will deny you right then and there. If you are under the age of Eighteen then don't bother applying for this thread. There will be a lot of mature topics covered here. Please make sure you read everything before requesting the thread. I'm tired of people not reading everything. Thank you.

Everyone is supposed to have a soulmate. Sometimes it's better to keep to themselves. It wasn't like everything people do makes someone else feel better. There's always something deep inside of a person. Something that makes them feel like they aren't worth the fight anymore. The Pierce siblings all have their own issues. Things have been hard for them, and they don't believe in love anymore. At one point they all felt like they had met the woman of their dreams. That's until they found out what they really had done. Now they don't believe in anything anymore. That is until fate decides to step in, and bring love back into their lives.

Malachi Pierce is the oldest out of the four boys. He's always trying to have everything under his control. He doesn't care what other's think about him. He's always busting his ass at work, and when he's not at work he's out and about on the town trying to find things to pass the time. Ever since he was little, he was always needing something to keep him busy. Not many people understood that, so when his parents tried sending him to see someone, he threw a huge fit. He wasn't going to be locked inside a room talking about his 'Feelings' to a total stranger. He wasn't the one to open up, and he sure as hell wasn't going to do it to please his parents either, even if it meant they would be proud of him.

As the years passed, he made a name for himself. He showed the world that he was a strong person, and didn't need anyone to tell him otherwise. He built his own company from the ground up, and he busted his ass day in and day out to keep it going. Even though people told him it wouldn't happen, he knew it would. He wasn't going to give up. People would tell him he needed a woman in his life, when in reality it would only hold him back. He didn't want someone to hold him back, he wanted someone to support him, and the last woman he dated never did that. She was nothing but a lying bitch, and he realized that too late. He promised he wouldn't fall head over heels again, until Female One showed up one day at his office, asking for a job.

Hunter Pierce is the second oldest in the family. He's also the 'Man Whore'. He would sleep with whatever had legs. He didn't care if it was a male, or a female. He didn't like getting attached to people. It wasn't his style either. He didn't want to get attached to people, because of the fact he always got hurt. He didn't want to wear his heart on his sleeve like his other brothers. He would rater screw someone, and be on his way. He knew people got attached to him, and the moment he found out he cut all ties. He didn't want people getting attached to him at all. He had an image to keep up, even if it meant hurting people at the same time.

Hunter liked his space. He liked feeling like he could control something. Sometimes it wasn't the best idea to do that, but it was how he was. That's until Female Two randomly pops up into his life. Even though she didn't know anything about him, she could tell there was something special about him. She wanted to get to know him, dig into his mind and see what he was really like. Hunter on the other hand didn't like that. He didn't like how he wanted to see her all of the time. He wanted to keep his distance, because for once he didn't want to hurt anyone. This time he wanted to make something happen, but he didn't know how to do it. He didn't even know if it would be worth it either.

Andrew Pierce is the second to youngest. He's been with one woman for the past six years. He had planned on asking her to marry him, when he found out she was sleeping with his best friend. He didn't want to believe it at first, but the signs had always been there. When she would draw away from him, not look at him, or even touch him. He knew something was off about her, but he didn't want to believe it. He's always trying to see the good in people. He wore his heart on his sleeve, and he would always put other's before him. The night when he was to pop the question was when everything came out into the open. Scarlett had been sleeping with Wyatt, and she was carrying his baby. It tore Andrew apart. He was planning on spending his whole life with her, but now it's gone.

He became the kind of man he didn't want to be. He didn't want to trust anyone again. He knew he wouldn't trust anyone, but deep down he wanted the feeling of being loved back. He wanted to feel like he meant something to someone. Even if it meant hurting himself in the end. He didn't like feeling pain, that's why he hardly let those feelings show. He was always trying his best. That's when Female Three pops into his life. She's a whirl wind of personality. She's the kind of person who won't take anyone's shit, and that's what drew him to her. At first he didn't want anything to do with her, because of Scarlett, but he knew he wouldn't be able to move on if he didn't get attached to someone else. It might be a bad idea, but he might as well take a leap, and see where it takes him.

Shawn Pierce is the baby of the family. He was always spoiled, and he could get away with a lot more shit than his brothers. That's when he met and feel head over heels for an older woman. She had taught him things he wouldn't have been able to learn alone. She was a spit fire, but he knew it wouldn't last. He didn't want to seem like a child, so he made sure to keep his distance most of the time. Sometimes he would get jealous because she was always on the arm of another man. He wanted her, and he wanted her badly. When he told her what he was feeling, she told him he was nothing but a play thing for her. She didn't care about him, and she never would. He was a good lay, and that was it. It tore him apart to hear those words, but it made him realize something, he was worth so much more.

Female Four had been best friends with Shawn for years. She had kept her feelings to herself, because she didn't want him knowing. She didn't want to get her hopes up, but she wanted him to know how she felt. One night while they were out and about on the town, was when she finally got the guts to tell him. At first Shawn didn't know what to say. He had felt the same way, but he had been too focused on the other woman. He didn't mean to brush his best friend aside, but there was something stirring inside of him. Something he wanted to act upon, but he didn't know how too. He didn't want to scare the woman away, but he didn't want to deal with the heartbreak again either.

Everything these brothers do will plan out their lives. They can't keep to themselves forever, but sometimes it better that way. Will the women be able to break them out of their shells? Will the brother's find the love they deserve? Will everything fall apart? Or will everything finally come together? You'll never know unless you join, Love & Hate.

What I need from you.

I'm going to make this super easy on you. I would like you to title your message the name of the role play, and inside of that message I would like you to have this small skeleton filled out. If I have to ask you three times to change something I will deny you the spots. Plus you are playing all four females. If you refuse to play all four females I will deny you the spot. So please make sure to apply for all four. Now onto the skeleton.

Picture Links {don't fully link them} || Character Names || Ages || Likes {five total} || Dislikes {five total} || Dream Job || Job Title

See it's not that hard. Please make sure to title your message Help Me Through This so I know you read this, along with the rules below. Please make sure that everything I am asking for is in the message as well. Now onto the lovely rules.

The rules of Love & Hate.

First- The pictures are going to be real. None of the over used shit either. If it's too big, I will ask you to resize it to a smaller size. If you can't find one to your liking, simply message me and ask me for help. I would be more than happy to help you look, or edit your picture for you. Just don't get mad at me, if I ask you to change/edit it.

Second- Romance will be a big part of this story, but not at first. Just like in real life you have to work up to it. It's not a love at first sight type of thing. Cybering is a no on this site, if you want to keep the story line going, then we can move this to e-mail, or just skip it all together. That won't happen for awhile though, so we won't need to talk about that right away.

Third- Joining and then ditching is a no. If you don't like where this role play is going, simply message me and we can plot something out. Or if you are simply bored of it, and don't want to do it anymore, simply message me and tell me. I won't be mad if you get tired of it. Just if you join and then never post, is when I will be slightly annoyed with you. So please, at least talk to me about leaving the thread.

Forth- Plot twists is a must. I love plotting things out, and see where we want it to go. It's not that hard to become my friend either. So if you have something in mind, and wanna run it by me, all you gotta do is message me and be like 'Hey! I have an idea, and I just wanted to see what you thought about it!'. Because honestly I will do the same thing to you, so don't be surprised if you get messages from me about ideas.

Fifth- Stealing this idea is a no. It's something that's important to me. If I see anything like it, or someone stealing the main idea I will make it known you stole it from me. I have worked hard on this idea, and if you like it that much, ask me if you can borrow it. Just make sure to give me the credit for it. I will most likely say yes to letting you borrow it, as long as you ask me first.

Sixth- Posting. I know we all have lives outside of this site. I work full time, and sometimes on my day's off I'm not always on until later that night. So if you need a couple of days to post, I'm okay with that. If you are gonna be gone for a week or two, please let me know because if you don't, then I'll think you ditched out on me. I will do the same thing for you as well. If I can't post, or having a hard time I will make sure to let you know.

Seventh- Playing all four characters is a must. As you can see I'm playing all four males, so I'm looking for someone who will play all four females. If you message me asking to play one female only I will deny you the spot. So please make sure you apply for all four roles and I'll be a happy camper. Step out of your comfort zone a little bit, it's not that bad I promise you that.

Eighth- I will be putting a time limit for posting. I have high hopes for this thread, and I don't want it dying out before it even gets started. You have 14 days to get a post done. I know it's hard to do four characters in one post, that's why I have the time limit. If you are needing more time please let me know. If you don't post within 16 days then I will message you and see what's going on. Please don't wait a month between posts, because I will lose interest.

Ninth- Please for the love of God don't do one liners. Those kill the story for me quickly. I'm a literate writer, and looking for someone to give me something to work with. Don't make me put a posting limit, because that's something I don't want to do. So please make sure to give me something to work with, and I'll do the same for you.

Tenth- Now that I'm done sounding like a total bitch, I want this to be enjoyable for the both of us. That's what writing is about anyway. Having fun, and making something beautiful together. So please enjoy writing with me, and let's make something amazing, and see where this will lead.

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Malachi let out a sigh, as his eyes moved to the clock on the computer screen. He cocked his head slightly to the side, and groaned. It's been an hour since he had gotten back from lunch, and so far no one has bothered him. He knew it wasn't going to be long till it happened, but he held his breath and waited for the ball to drop. As he leaned back into his chair, a knock sounded on the door. [#0075D0 "Come on in"] he called. The door to his office opened up, and in walked a red headed female.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 The male cocked his head to the side, and leaned back into his chair. He crossed his arms over his chest, and raised a 'brow slightly. [#0075D0 "Can I help you Scarlett?"] he asked her. The woman cocked her head to the side, and smiled at him. [b "I figured I would come and find you, when you never called me. You told me you would the other night, and when you didn't, I got slightly worried that you weren't interested in me"] she said with a small pout of her lips.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#0075D0 "And you are right. I'm not interested. It was a one time thing. If you don't mind, I would like you to leave my office, and go find someone who's into people like you"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Excuse me? You aren't interested anymore? Well that's fine with me. But what do you mean 'Find someone who's into people like you?'"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#0075D0 "You are nothing but an attention seeking whore. You threw yourself at me the other night, and that's the only reason why I even slept with you. I don't sleep with women the first night, and honestly I regret doing it"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "So in other words, you are calling me a whore? That's good to know. Just watch yourself from now on"] the woman hissed. The male cocked his head to the side, and watched as she stormed out of the office. He shook his head lightly, as he turned to the computer. He looked at the time again, and groaned. He loved his job, but at the same time he didn't. Like right now he wanted to be anywhere but here at the moment.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He pulled some papers out of the drawer by the computer, and as he was about to start filing them away, another knock sounded. [#0075D0 "What the hell do you want?"] he snapped. That's when the woman who worked for him poked her head around the side. [i "I'm sorry to intrude, but you have a phone call from the Prime Minister. He doesn't want to wait another day to talk to you"] she said lightly, as she bit the inside of her cheek. The man nodded, and said he would take it finally.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He watched as the woman closed the door behind her, before he lifted the phone out of it's cradle. [#0075D0 "Good afternoon Prime Minister Jones. How can I help you?"] he asked. He knew he was laying it on thick, but at the moment he didn't care. He wanted to get this phone call over with. The Prime Minister wasn't always that willing to talk. He sighed lightly as he leaned back into the chair. [b "I'm just wondering why you haven't taken any of my calls until today."] he snapped, making the man wince slightly.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#0075D0 "I've been dealing with a lot as of late. As you remember my parents just passed away, and everything at the office has been eating my time up."]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "I'm sorry about the loss of your parents, and I don't believe the office can take up that much of your time. When are you coming to Rome? We need your business here more than ever."]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#0075D0 "I've been thinking about that a lot lately, and as of right now, I don't think I'll be coming out there anytime soon. The business here needs me, and I can't just up and leave like I wanted too"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Or is that your way of saying you aren't coming period? You've been getting everyone's hopes up over here. You need to pack your things, and leave in the week. I'm booking your flight right now, and I will not take a no any longer"] click... Malachi just sat there, the phone beeping in his ear. What the hell just happened? He sighed lightly placing the phone down. Did that really just happen? He sighed as he rubbed his face a bit.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He didn't know how to even bring this up to his brother's. He didn't want to leave, but he had no choice in the matter now. He stood and gathered up his things. [#0075D0 "Heather, I'm leaving for the afternoon. I'm not taking any phone calls at home, so please make sure everyone knows that"] he said, as he walked out of the office. [i "I'll try too, have a good rest of the day"] the woman called. He nodded lightly as he made his way to the parking garage.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He walked to his car, slid inside and started it up. He pulled out of the parking spot, and headed towards the park. He didn't know what to even do now. As he drove his mind went back to the phone call he had. He knew he had to let his brother's know, but right now he had to gather his thoughts. He pulled into the parking lot of the park, parked his car and climbed out. He then moved over to the play ground and sat on a swing. He started pushing himself back and forth.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 This was going to be a long ass day, and it still wasn't over yet.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Hunter let out a small moan as he rolled over and felt another body against his side. A small smile passed over his lips, as he wrapped his arms around the slender waist. He pulled the woman against his chest, and buried his nose into his hair. He took a deep breath and sighed again. [#47A747 "It's time to wake up"] he said lightly. A small moan passed though the woman's lips as she rolled onto her side, and locked her eyes on his. [b "Do we really have to?"] she whined, as she tangled herself around him.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 She managed to flip him onto his back, and she was on top of him. They were both nude, and the night before had been amazing. The pleasure, the sounds she made. He didn't even remember her name either. [#47A747 "Yes we kinda do. I have to get home before my brother's freak out on me"] he admitted. The woman shook her head lightly, as she leaned down and pressed her lips against his. She pulled back and giggled a little. [b "Do you really have too? You can stay here in bed all day"] she offered.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 The offer was tempting, but he knew he couldn't. He sighed lightly as he drew her down and kissed her again. [#47A747 "I can't stay, I have to go"] he said as he lifted her up and off of him. He then climbed out of the bed, and found his clothes. The woman sighed and rolled her eyes. [b "Honestly, if you walk out that door right now you will never see me again"] she snapped. Damn, she was demanding. Hunter looked over his shoulder and shrugged a bit as he got dressed.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#47A747 "Honestly, I don't care if I ever see you again. I only wanted you for the sex, and I got what I wanted. So it's time for me to leave"] he said with a smirk. The hurt look on her face was enough for him. He grabbed his shoes, sat on the edge of the bed to put them on. When he tied them, he stood and pulled his shirt on. [b "Is that really how you treat every woman you sleep with? Like she's a fucking whore?"] she snapped as she wrapped the sheet around herself.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#47A747 "No this isn't how I always treat them. I'm always gone the night of. I never wake up beside a woman, because that's just how I roll. Honestly, because you are such a whiner it's making me feel sick to my stomach. That's why I'm leaving"] he snapped back. The woman grabbed a vase off the side table, and threw it at him. He ducked it, flipped her off and walked out of the room. [b "You are a fucking man whore!"] she screamed at his back. That made the male smirk even more.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 The male knew he was a man whore, and he didn't need her yelling that at him to remind him. He wanted to turn around and smack her. He was somewhat a gentleman though. He would never raise a hand to a woman. He wasn't like all of those other assholes in the world. He sighed a bit as he opened the front door, and walked out of the apartment. He was kind of regretting even staying as long as he did. He walked down the hall, and out the front door. He found his car, unlocked it and climbed inside.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He started the car and pulled out of the parking spot. He then got his bearings, and then headed towards the highway. He didn't realize he had come out this far. He smirked a bit wondering if the woman had her car or not. If she didn't, she was shit outta luck on that one. He shook his head lightly and headed back home. He would need to make a stop and get something to eat though. He needed to gather his thoughts, and really think about what's happening with his life.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He laughed at himself, as he rolled down the windows, turned up the volume and just let himself drive. He didn't know if it would be worth going home. He shook his head, as he let the drive take his mind off of things. Pretty soon he was at his turn off, and he pulled into the parking lot of a Denny's. He shut the car off, climbed out and went inside. He got a table, and a waitress gave him a menu. He looked her up and down and smirked a bit. Maybe she would be his tonight.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He wasn't in the mood to really think about that. He looked the menu over, placed his order, and then leaned back against the booth. He put his hands on his stomach, and waited for his food to arrive. His mind did go back to the woman he had slept with she was a spit fire, but he was glad he didn't have to deal with her anymore. He looked around the small place, and people watched as he waited for his food.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Boxes were everywhere. It was moving day, and it was the last thing Andrew wanted at the moment. He had just gotten his heart shattered by the one person he thought wouldn't want to hurt him. He had given the woman six years of his life, and for what? Just to have his heart ripped out, stomped on, and to find out she had been cheating on him all along. He had been so blind, that he didn't even want to believe the signs he had been seeing. He shook his head and looked up when the front door opened.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Andrew? Are you here?"] Star called out. Andrew sighed, and looked back into the box he was working on. [#D35400 "I'm in our bedroom"] he called back. He knew he should change his wording, but he didn't care. Not anymore. This was still their room, and she still had his heart. There wasn't a day that wouldn't go by, that he wouldn't miss her. [b "I thought you would have been gone by now"] she said as she walked into the room, a couple coffee's in her hands. She walked over and handed him a cup.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#D35400 "I figured I'd get all my shit out"] he said as he took the cup. She smiled lightly, as she sat down on the bed. [b "That's how you always are though. Wanting to get things done"] she said lightly. That's when the silence washed over them. She lifted the cup to her lips, and then looked around the room. [b "It's going to be weird when this place sells"] she breathed. That made Andrew's heart skip a beat. She really was thinking about selling the place, and he didn't blame her.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#D35400 "It'll be sad, but it just means that you'll be able to fuck anyone you want, anywhere you want"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Will you please not be like that? I told you how sorry I was.. What more do you want me to say?"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#D35400 "Oh I don't know. That you are done sleeping around, and that you want to work on things with us. We were supposed to be making our family"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Andrew, things change. People change, and so do feelings. I didn't want to hurt you, but I knew if I didn't tell you, it would hurt you even more. I'm not in love with you anymore. We jumped into things when we were still in high school, and I knew it wasn't going to work"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#D35400 "It honestly feels like you didn't want it to work. You weren't home, and when you were, it felt like you weren't. So just because we were together in High School, doesn't mean it wouldn't have worked. You just didn't want to work on shit"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Andrew please.. This is hard on us both. I do care about you, but I won't be in love with you again"] she said lightly. That's when they both fell silent again. Andrew just sat there, and he shook his head. [#D35400 "You are wrong"] he breathed. He then placed the cup on the side table, taped up the box, and then he was ready to go. He didn't even say anything else to her. There wasn't anything to say. He was tired of the abuse from her, the lies, and the fact she didn't love him, tore him apart.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12[b "Andrew, please say something. I don't want to leave things like this"] she pleaded with him. He shook his head, as he looked back towards her. [#D35400 "There's nothing more to say. You made up your mind, and are so willing to let someone who loves you more than anyone go. What should I say?"] he snapped. He bent down and picked up the boxes and carried them out of the bedroom. He only had three boxes total, and that was it. Everything else of his had been moved out during the week. He didn't need anything more.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Star on the other hand, just sat there. She shook her head lightly and looked down at her hands in her lap. [b "I guess you are right"] she said lightly. Andrew didn't say anything more as he walked down the hallway, and out the front door. He took his things to the beat up truck, and placed them in the bed. He then climbed into the drivers seat, started the truck and looked back towards the house. This was the last time he would ever see it. He cocked his head, when he saw Star standing there.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He hoped she would realize what she had done. That she lost the one person who loved her, and that she would be hurt in the end. He shook his head lightly as he pulled away from the curb, and headed into town. His brother's were expecting him home soon, so he stopped at a bar, parked in a spot and walked inside. He might as well get shit faced drunk. No one would even care. He walked over to the counter, took a seat and ordered a couple drinks.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He hoped that these would numb the pain in his heart, and he hoped that he could find another woman sometime soon, but right now he just needed the drinks and the pain to leave his heart.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Shawn? Can you come in here please?"] the sound of Rosa's voice sent shivers down Shawn's body. She was beautiful, had legs for days, and she was at least ten years older than he was. He sighed as he dropped his sketch pad down, and stood. [#7D3C98 "What is it Rosa?"] he asked as he walked to the bedroom. She was laying on the bed wearing close to nothing. He took one look at her, and he nearly attacked her, and pleased her till she screamed. That would have been a good idea, but he stayed where he was.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "I need you to help me choose what to wear tonight. Daniel is taking me out to dinner, and out on the town"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#7D3C98 "Why the hell do you need me to help you with that? You know how I feel about you going out with other men"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Oh Shawn darling, you and I aren't really a thing. You are too young for me. Yes you are amazing in bed, but that's all you will be to me. I don't need someone like you, I need a man like Daniel"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#7D3C98 "Then why keep me around? Why keep me for the bedroom romp? If that's all I am to you, then why don't you let me go and you can have whomever you want"]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 [b "Do you really think that Shawn? Or darling, you are free to leave whenever you want too. I'm not stopping you"] she said lightly as she looked up towards him. Her eyes drew him in, and it made him weak. That's all he would ever be to her. Just a good fuck, and that's it.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He shook his head lightly, as he turned and walked out of the room. [b "Where are you going?"] she called as she scrambled off the bed and ran out of the room. [b "You can't leave me. You know you'll be nothing without me. It's because of me, you've become the man you are today"] she cooed lightly. Shawn spun around, and glared at her. [#7D3C98 "Yeah, you might have taught me a couple things, but that doesn't matter. I'm done being your sex toy"] he snapped, seeing the look of pain in her eyes.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He gathered up his sketch pad and pencils. He put them into his back pack, and then he was ready to go. He gave her the bird, and walked out of the house. He didn't need her anymore. The person he needed was Fiona though. He needed his best friend. He pulled out his phone, scrolled to her number and sent her a text. [#7D3C98 [i Fiona, what are you doing? Will you meet me at the mall? Rosa and I got into it, and I need a friend right now.]]]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He read the message over a couple times, and then hit send. He didn't care if it sounded like he was begging. He needed his best friend. [google-font][noto+sans [size12 The moment that the mall came into view he pulled into the parking lot, parked under some trees and then took the long walk inside. The walk helped clear his head a little bit, and then he pulled out his phone to see if Fiona had messaged him back. Nothing yet. He sighed a bit, as he sent her another message. [#7D3C98 [i If you do show up, I'm going to be in the book store. Need some new sketch books, and books for school.]] and then hit send. He slid his phone back into his pocket.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He walked towards the bookstore and went inside. One of the workers smiled as he walked in. [b "If you need anything, please come and ask"] she called. The male nodded lightly as he went straight to where he needed to be. He started scanning the books he was needing, and then pretty soon he had two sketch books. He then went to find the ones he needed for classes on Monday. He sighed lightly wondering if Fiona would even show her face or not. He wouldn't blame her if she didn't. He had been brushing her off.]]

HoshizoraIrene   15d ago

"Have a lovely day," Irene said with a smile to the last customer in her checkout line before sitting back and stretching. God, her cheeks hurt from smiling and her back from sitting. "I'm done for the day. See you tomorrow," she called over to her colleague before leaving the little booth and made her was into the back to the small break room to grab her bag. Working at a supermarket wasn't grand nor did it really pay well, but at least you got some discounts on food. With another bag filled with groceries she left out the backdoor.

The sun tickled her face and that did make her feel a bit better. Though she knew she had to hurry. Normally she had maybe an hour at home before she had to go to her second job, waitressing at a restaurant. It made for long days, but she knew she had to push on. Since she was supporting her mother, it left her strapped for cash always and that left her landlord less that happy. Not that you could expect much when you drop out of high school during your last year.
Today, however, she had a day off because she had a job interview. The first one in forever. If it went well, Irene hoped that maybe she could hope for one steady job with maybe slightly better pay. It didn't take long for her to reach her rundown apartment building. In a way it was a miracle it hadn't been torn down yet like the rest of the buildings around it to be turned into fancy highrises that only the super rich could afford. This area was becoming popular and Irene wasn't sure if she could still live here if the rent increased again. The front door creaked as though it might fall out of the frame at any second as she stepped in, quickly checking her mail. Bills, bills and more bills. Signing, Irene made her was up the steps to her apartment, entering the shoebox. It was tiny and old, with it being clear that someone with less than good skills had tried to repair things here and there, such as the wallpaper that was coming off.
Dumping the mail on the counter, Irene quickly showered, allowing her hair to dry on its own into her natural curls. She quickly found a nice skirt and blouse that would hopefully look nice enough to overlook the fact that it was dirt cheap. With a banana in hand Irene made her way out the door once more, hoping to rather be early than late.
Maybe she should take public transport to get there and turned down the street. She was nearly there when she came across a playground. It was empty, which wasn't all too surprising at this time of day, save for a man sitting on the swing. He looked downright depressed. Irene knew she didn't have much time before she would be late, but she couldn't help herself. Helping people was something she enjoyed and he clearly needed it. Slowly she made her way over and sat down on the second swing. "You know, you won't have this swing for yourself much longer. School will let out soon," she told him, "So you might have to move soon unless you want to have an argument with a five year old why you are hogging the swing." She gave him a teasing smile before it turned more friendly. "Penny for your thoughts." If he turned her away, so be it, but at least she tried.

Kiara had settled down in her usual booth. Jodie, a friend of hers, was working here today and they used the time before Kiara had to go in to talk and have a nice breakfast. Mornings were typically slow so that she could enjoy her breakfast and had some time to sketch. She loved to sketch, especially in these settings where people were just themselves.
Taking the pencil and notebook from her backpack, she let her gaze glide over the customers present. "Looking for the next subject of your drawing?" Jodie asked as she sat down opposite of her. Kiara nodded. "Well, you know I'm always available," her friend teased, knowing she had been caught on paper several times, "Or how about that guy over there? Now if that isn't a guy that screams sketch me. Now I'm a taken woman, but even I'm not immune to such a look." She recalled how she had shivered pleasantly when he had given her a once over as she handed him the menu. Kiara curiously glanced over. It was true. There was something about the man that just screamed... sex, honestly. He exuded it. "Haven't seen him before," she said before nodding and tying her hair up into a pineapple so it didn't get in her face, "We have a winner."
Though there was something about him that made her pause as her pencil made contact with the paper. Yes, there was sex, but the closer you looked... his gaze, posture, there was something about him that was drawing her in that wasn't physical. There was a seriousness and conflict inside him. With a final glance efficient and elegant strokes soon filled the paper, turning the blank canvas into art.
It didn't take long for her to finish and the sketch was a perfect likeness of the man. Even on paper you could see that conflict. Typically she wasn't one to just share her sketches with a random stranger, but she wanted to talk to him. Wanted to get to know him. Under her friend's watchful eyes, Kiara got up and walked over to him. "This seat taken?" she inquired, though sat down regardless. Up close he was even more gorgeous, but her eye hadn't been wrong. He looked deeply troubled and yet fascinating. "I hope you don't mind that I decided to draw you," Kiara went on and pushed the notebook with his sketch across the table for him to see, "I'm here every now and then and most of the regulars know about it. Thought it only fair you did too." A smile accompanied her words. "So what brings you here so early in the morning?" she asked just as Jodie brought over both his and her meal. A questioning gaze to Hunter clearly asking if it was okay that she did so.

"Now slide your foot across the ground and hook it," Caro told her and with one swift and efficient movement did exactly that and her test partner had their feet knocked out from under them, "Okay, now try on your own. I'll come around." In her white gi she walked the rows of her students, watching their movements as they tried to replicate hers, sometimes giving pointers. She loved working as a fighting instructor and she was good at it. Many people came to her courses, much like this self defense course that was visited by men and women alike.
Soon she let out class and for today she was done. After bidding everyone farewell she closed up and made her back, changing into her normal clothes. She was proud of what she had accomplished, building up this brand. For the eldest of three children from immigrants this was a huge step. Taking a sip of water, she decided to stop for an evening drink, maybe work on a post afterwards.
It hadn't been easy. Her parents had worked so hard for them to have what they had and Caro wanted to support them as best as she could and also not be a burden to them. So she had financed college herself, working odd jobs until her roommate told her of a far more lucrative way. She had become an exotic dancer. Now she had never slept with a man and only gone as far as she had wanted, but looking back it hadn't been her shining moment. That said, she had been able to finance college and give back to her family.
Though one fateful day she had been attacked by a guy, waiting outside the club she worked. While she had gotten away, it left her scared and she had gone to self defense classes and gotten hooked. Dropping out of college, she worked her way up in the fighting school she worked and made a name for herself on social media. This was her passion and calling.
Arriving at the bar, Caro brushed her long dark hair over her shoulder before ordering her drink, a whisky on the rocks. Receiving her drink, she also saw the guy beside her receive his. Though he had ordered several, it was clear he was intent on drinking them all on his own. Caro sat down beside him, sipping her drink. "Let me tell you from experience that drinks don't help. Only for the time that they are there and afterwards you feel even worse," she told him softly, "If I may recommend something that will be more beneficial, I would say you should try beating up a punching bag." That at least didn't hurt anyone, not even yourself, if you do it correctly. Her gaze stayed on him, wondering what had happened. "Want to talk about it?" Caro asked, feeling like sometimes you needed a stranger to unload to. Isn't that how therapists made a living?

Her hips rose as every muscle in her body tensened. Bang! With the shot from the gun Fiona was off, sprinting down the red track lane. A glance to the side told her she was doing well, but someone was edging ahead. Summoning more of her energy, she increased her speed for the final yards. Then came the finish line. Second place. Breathing heavily, Fiona hunched over to catch her breath as her ribs expanded and contracted rapidly.
It was silly, but her gaze went to the stands, hoping to see Shawn. Of course, he wasn't there. Sure, she had just qualified for the state level and has reminded him of the meet several times, but he only had eyes for Rosa. It was a stab to her heart. Her friend Amy came over to hand Fiona some water, which she gladly took as she made her way off the track. "That was amazing. You were close to your season best," Amy said. "Yeah, though the other girl... God, don't know how I could have caught her," she replied with a shake of her head before hearing her phone beep.
Pulling out her phone, Fiona paused at reading the text. What did she say to that? "You aren't seriously going to reply? He's just using you, Fi," Amy demanded to know, furiously, "Come on, he doesn't give you the time of day, doesn't come to the one thing you ask of him. Only when he has trouble with his cougar does he suddenly remember you exist." Fiona averted her eyes. Her friend, who knew some vague details about the situation, was right and she knew she didn't want to face it. "On the track with you Hayworth. Your run is next," their coach mercifully interrupted so that she didn't need to think on it more.
Their team had done well, really well and after they had showered they were going out to an ice cream parlor to celebrate. Fiona had just finished drying her hair and changing when she saw the second text from Shawn. Sighing, she knew what she was going to do, as stupid as it was. Shouldering her bag, Fiona made her way to leave the locker room. "You're not coming?" Amy asked and being the coward that Fiona was all she could do was shake her head, "You're such a fool, Fi. Don't come crying to me when it's only for a day that the mighty lord graces you with his presence." Fiona knew her friend didn't mean it, but was she being stupid? Why was she always his rebound?
Once in her car she drove off, thinking of Shawn. They had been friends for ages and she had always been a tomboy. Was that it? Was she not feminine enough? Fiona had once seen a picture of Rosa, all sexy and curvy. How could Shawn not find her attractive? At the stoplight she looked down at her own frame. Lean from sports, her chest not much to look at. Was that why she had only a while ago decided to grow out her hair that she had for so long kept as a bob? In the hopes that Shawn would realize she was a woman and not just one of the guys? If it was, it sure as hell hadn't worked.
Sighing, Fiona pulled up into the parking lot mall, spotting Shawn's beetle and parking next to it. She made her way into the mall and soon entered the bookstore. It wasn't hard to find him and her heart did that little pitter patter it always did when she saw him. Seeing the book he needed beside her, as she had already grabbed it last week, she took it from the shelf and nudged his arm with it. "I believe this is what you are looking for," she mused, a smile on her face, before handing it over. Fiona was a terrible artist, but she had taken the class to be close to Shawn. Her gaze shifted to worry as she looked at him. He looked down. "How are you doing?" Fiona asked softly as she leaned against the bookshelf, "How about we grab a bite and talk?" Was she hoping that he would finally leave Rosa behind him? Yes, but how often had she hoped that before she asked him to come back and he jumped at the chance. Either way, she was definitely hungry after the meet and needed to eat something.

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Malachi didn't realize he had been so wrapped up in his own thoughts until he heard a woman's voice. He looked up and the sight of the woman beside him made him pause. She was talking about school letting out, and him arguing with a five year old. He couldn't help but smile at that. [#0075D0 "Honestly it would be better than having a woman you slept with once on your ass about shit"] he admitted. The woman beside him was breathtaking, and he couldn't help but wonder where she popped up from. He would save that for later.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 She was asking about what was on his mind, and he didn't know if it would be wise to tell a total stranger. Might as well, he wouldn't have to see her again anyway. [google-font][noto+sans [size12 He didn't understand why the woman was being kind to him, and he needed it, that's for damn sure. He cocked his head to the side as he looked her up and down. [google-font][noto+sans [size12 The way her hair fell over her shoulders, the way she was so kind to him just now, the air around her was comforting. [google-font][noto+sans [size12 He was about to say something else, when his phone buzzed in his pocket and he pulled it out. [google-font][noto+sans [size12 He felt like a horrible person for leaving all of a sudden, but he had no choice. He took one last look at the woman, before he was heading back to his car, slid in behind the wheel, and made his way back to the company. His mind was on the female the whole time. Something about her seemed to interest him in more ways than one. He hoped he would be seeing her again, and soon.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Hunter's mind was racing. He didn't know what to do with himself. He didn't know what to do with the thoughts running around in his mind. His whole world had come crumbling down, and no one seemed to care. Why should they? He wasn't anyone special anyway. He sighed lightly as he heard someone approaching his table. He cocked his head to the side [#47A747 "It's taken by you"] he said in a soft voice as she sat down.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He let her ask her question, and shrugged a bit. [#47A747 "Just a bad morning, and I needed a place to escape pretty much"] he admitted. Which was true. As the woman was speaking about drawing him, he raised a 'brow slightly and looked down towards the sketch pad she slid towards him. The drawing was of him, and the likeness was uncanny.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 Before he could say anything, his food was brought over, along with her own. He thanked the waitress and then turned his eyes back to the page before him. I'm not weirded out or anything that I caught your attention to make you want to draw me, but I'm honored all the same"] he said as he reached for the pad and picked it up. It was a really good drawing, and he was really, really impressed with it.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He placed the pad back down and slid it back towards the woman, being careful not to get it dirty. [#47A747 "I take it you are an artist? Do you always draw strangers, and then approach them about it? I'm not meaning to sound rude, I'm just all around curious"] he said lightly. Taking in the woman's sight before him, made his heart skip a beat. She was easy on the eyes, and her voice was heart melting as well. He wouldn't mind trying to woo her into his bed. He honestly didn't know where those thoughts came from.]]

[google-font][noto+sans [size12 He had taken strangers to his bed before, but something about this woman before him was different. He wanted to [i keep] her in his bed if he could. He cocked his head to the side and smiled warmly towards her. [#47A747 "My name's Hunter by the way, and thank you for the drawing, and the company as well"] he said as he picked up his food and took a bite. [google-font][noto+sans [size12 He placed the glass back onto the counter top, and looked around the bar. People were slowly coming in more and more. [google-font][noto+sans [size12 [#D35400 "I'm sorry, if I did something wrong, please tell me"] he said as he slid his arms around her waist, and moved both their bodies to the beat of the music. He was done with the mind games, and he hoped Fiona could tell he had finally reached his breaking point.]]
HoshizoraIrene   11d ago

Honestly, Irene has expected that the man would tell her to piss off. It was a fifty/fifty shot with things like this. Either they wanted to be left alone with their problems or they wanted to open up. Somehow, maybe it was the expensive suit, she would have thought he was the former. They, she guessed, had expensive therapists to ease the load off their shoulders and didn't need random strangers.
Instead he actually smiled at her and it certainly made him seem even more handsome than he already was. "I don't know. Five year olds these days can be quite tough," Irene couldn't help teasing, giving him a smile. Not that she had any real way to know. She was an only child so she didn't have any nieces and nephews. Some friends had kids, but she didn't see them that often.
Irene gave a soft nod as he explained what was on his mind. "That does sound like a lot," she agreed softly, "I mean, I don't know the whole story so I can hardly give the best advice." Which likely made her stopping to talk to him seem even more silly and pointless. "Maybe it would be easier to think about what you really want. Take a moment to stop and breath," Irene suggested, her hands on the chains as her feet lightly made her swing back and forth.
Her face flushed slightly at being called beautiful, especially in her not so great looking job application clothes, and from such a handsome man no less. "A job interview," Irene replied, brushing her hair over her shoulder, "I was on my way to the train." With the way she said that it seemed far too non chalant. Most people certainly would have had other things on their mind than talking to some random stranger. The question made her pause, tilting her head for a moment. "I suppose, because I sometimes wished that people would do that for me. And I always felt like you should act how you want to be treated. So... I guess I just sat down," Irene mused, blushing slightly.
Before Irene could think about what else to say, his phone buzzer. Of course, he was a busy man with how he looked. "No need to thank me. I'm glad I could help," Irene assured him. Of course, she was under no illusions that he would actually repay her in any way, but that wasn't the point of this. She just wanted to help. After all, he didn't even know her name nor anything else. Irene looked after the man, going over their exchange in her head. He had been extremely nice and she was glad that she had been able to brighten up his day, even if for a moment.
She was still thinking on what had happened when she paused. Wasn't she on her way somewhere? Then she remembered. Her interview! With a start Irene jumped from the swing and hurried to the station. Checking her watch, she cursed. She had already missed the train she had wanted to take. Now she only had a few minutes to catch the next one if she wanted to be on time. Irene sprinted down the street, seeing the sign for the station in the distance. Taking several steps at a time, she nearly fell down the stairs, hearing the telltale sign of a train coming, her train.
Irene reached the platform just as the door closed. Frantically she pressed the button to open the door, but the beeping told her she was too late as the train started up without her. No, this couldn't be. Now she had to wait ten minutes and she would be late. She would already be the least qualified person at the interview and now she would be late. Likely they wouldn't even allow her into the room. Her body trembled slightly out of nerves, but she knew there was nothing she could do now. Her only solace in this was that she had helped the man.
Finally the train came and she got on. In her head she tried to review questions and answers and so the ride flew by. Getting off at the stop, Irene made her way above ground. Luckily, the company wasn't far and she arrived soon. Late, of course, and likely looking pretty terrible. Her curls starting to frizz from the run and Irene wouldn't be surprised if she had sweat stains under her armpits. Just great. At least the receptionist let her in the building and after a quick call she was led up into a conference room.
It was all glass and slick, the view of the city stunning. Irene stayed standing, imaging this wouldn't last very long with the first impression she had given. Captivated by the skyline she was looking that way when she heard the door open. "I'm so sorry for being late. I missed my train. I know that's not an excuse, but...," Irene began and turned, only pausing when she recognized the man that had only a while ago sat on the swing next to her, "You..." Not very eloquent and she was certainly at a lose for words right now. Here stood the one man she had never expected to see again.

His answer to her question made her smile. Even his words were charming and yet, he clearly wasn't in the mood to be that charming. How odd. Especially so when he admitted as much with his response. "Well, this place is certainly good for that," Kiara agreed with a nod. In a way this place seemed to have something soothing about it, even if it was a chain. Perhaps, it was the people, but then again she was biased in that regard with Jodie.
She honestly hadn't been sure how he would react to her drawing him. Some people might not be that pleased about that. Their attention was momentarily distracted by their food arriving and Jodie left hers as well as the guy didn't say anything otherwise. His words made her smile. "Well, I'm glad. The last thing I wanted was to weird you out," she mused and accepted her pad back, placing it carefully beside her on the bench before turning to her food.
"I wish unfortunately. My parents wanted me to do something proper with my life. So I am only an artist in my pastime, but I make up for it with passion," Kiara told him. Being the daughter of a biracial couple hadn't been easy. Growing up, she hadn't quite belonged to either, but at the same time her parents had wanted to make sure that she had all the options she wanted available to her. "It depends. Here most people know and don't mind so I don't come over unless they ask. With people I don't know I do feel like it's better to at least inform them about it. I mean, you wouldn't necessarily be thrilled about someone taking your picture without permission either," she went on before chuckling, "And before you ask, yes people have ripped my work to shreds before because they didn't like the idea of being drawn without knowing." She could take it with humor now, even if it sucked.
The way he looked at her made her feel good. She certainly understood where Jodie was coming from. He had that look that just got to a woman. While Kiara was not opposed to causal things, there was something about him that made her curious about him. In the him behind his casual facade. "Kiara. It's nice to meet you," she replied with a smile, "You're welcome." Taking a bite of her food, she regarded him thoughtfully, not bothering to hide her gaze. "So Hunter... what qualifies for you for such a bad morning that you had to escape?" she inquired, tilting her head. By no means did she have a problem with the idea of spending some time with him. A glance to her watch told her she still had some time.

This was a haunt for her that she liked to frequent occasionally. They had good drinks and the music was pretty good too. Usually the people came here for an after work beer or good night out so that it had a good crowd. Certainly a different crowd than from her dancer days. Though with the way the guy looked at her, he was either drunk or thought her to be some kind of angel. With the amount of glasses before him maybe both. Caro couldn't help a small smile.
She was glad she hadn't laughed at his expression with what he said. That... was rough. "I'm sorry about that," Caro genuinely said, "Sometimes, you can't do anything. When things are like that, as hard as it might be, accepting them is best. Think of it like this. Would you have preferred that you only found out later? When you were possibly married, maybe kids?" It could always be worse. She wasn't sure if she was actually making him feel better. "This situation says nothing about you, but everything about her. You sound like a good guy," she assured him. Though wasn't it the good guys that had it the hardest? Always overlooked for the bad boy that supposedly was more exciting and thrilling.
Caro took a sip of her drink when she noticed his gaze. Something certainly caught his attention and judging by the way the woman acted towards her and spoke to him, she was the said ex. While it was certainly none of her business, she was about to tell the woman to beat it, if Andrew hadn't beaten her to the punch. She wasn't afraid of this girly girl. Still, she was proud of him for standing up to her, as she knew how hard that could be, especially when things were still fresh.
What she hadn't expected was him taking her hand and pulling her to the dance floor. Caro couldn't help a laugh as he suddenly seemed almost apologetic, though had his arms around her waist. "It's quite alright. Can I say as a bystander I'm more than proud? It's not easy to say no to something like that," she told him truthfully, "Don't worry. I can handle myself." Against someone like that for sure. She could still feel the woman shooting daggers at them and Caro couldn't resist giving her a smirk as her arms wrapped around his neck.
A thought came to her and perhaps it was a stupid one, but she couldn't help it as a smile appeared on her lips. "You know... if you really want to make a point, there is a way," Caro mused and somehow imagining that he would be on board, leaned up to kiss him, her arms wrapping around him more. When she pulled back it was her turn to give him an almost apologetic look. "I'm Carolina, by the way," she told him, an almost teasing smile befalling her lips. Had she really just kissed a guy she didn't even know the name of?

Fiona wasn't even sure when she had fallen in love with Shawn. They genuinely only had been friends for so long. Only gradually over time did she notice things were changing on her side. How seeing him was the best part of her day. Or how him touching her made her skin feel warm. He understood her better than anyone. Only when he had told her that he was seeing an older woman did she realize it. With that stab in the heart that she was in love. From then on, it was a constant struggle of wanting to tell him, but at the same time not. He wasn't available and more so, it would jeapardize their friendship, something she didn't want to risk. Fiona had even tried to date another guy, hoping that somehow it would make her feelings for Shawn go away. They hadn't and the relationship had gone up in flames gloriously. Though Shawn had been there at the end of it, once more only proving how amazing he was.
She knew that she had every right to be mad at Shawn for flaking on her meet, but somehow just that smile he gave her made up for it. "It's okay. You had other problems," she assured him, though couldn't help grinning, "Though you better be there when the state meet comes." That was her way of telling him that things had gone well and Fiona was sure that he would be thrilled for her.
Though it was clear that he wasn't okay and nodding, Fiona took half of his stake before walking to the checkout. Even the briefest of touches made her shiver and not for the first time did she wonder if Shawn felt anything at all or if she was simply Fi, the friend he had always had. Not a girl or woman with her own thoughts and feelings.
Fiona decided on pizza, because honestly she could use the carbs after those runs and she was damn hungry. Taking a slice, she listened to what Shawn said. He was leaving Rosa. For good. The words made her heart flutter, though she quickly told herself to keep her head straight. How often had he said that before only to end in her bed a week later? She paused, unsure how to respond. "I do think it's good that you realized how she's treating you. You deserve someone so much better," Fiona told him, wishing she could say that he deserved her but instead continued, "Someone who will support you and be there for you. Always, not just during the nights when the bed is cold. You have so much more to offer. You are an amazing artist." That was certainly all true for her.
The question of whether she would come with him to get his things made her pause, the pizza halfway to her lips. Slowly, she lowered it to her plate. She had never met Rosa, never wanted to. Fiona knew what Amy would say. Why should she support him when he didn't do the same? "Okay, I'll come," Fiona finally agreed, wondering if she wouldn't regret this, "And afterwards we'll go out onto town to just have a good time so you can't even think about her." She gave him a smile before taking another bite. "But don't think for a second that you are getting around anything. I still have to think on what that will be," she told him, her smile turning into a teasing grin, "Cause this is a big ask."
Once she was finished Fiona looked to Shawn, placing a hand on his hand gently. "Ready when you are," she told him softly, "You can do this." At least she hoped. Cause she honestly didn't know how she could continue to watch him be around Rosa. Not with what it did to him nor how she treated him. Her hand tingled pleasantly where their hands touched and she waited for him to be ready so they could go to his car. Amy would be cursing her off for being this docile to just do this.
