Sorbet hummed as he sat in his father's bar, closing his eyes and sighing while hoping Sparkling didn't come and find him. He'd been thinking about Sea Fairy, and why she had taken him away from his parents once. He'd always wondered why, even if he'd accepted it then as just something people did. It was only recently he remembered and tried to figure out what was going on with that. He sighed as Sparkling called for him, responding before standing up and walking out to meet his parents. "I'm right here, Vati." He sighed quietly, Sparkling patting his shoulder. "The captain's waiting to take you to see Sea Fairy."
Currently, Sea Fairy was at the bottom of the ocean amongst coral, various forms of aquatic wildlife, and her personal Atlantis; a city she had faithfully protected from many land-dwellers, worried about preserving and keeping the aquatic Cookies around. All she ever did was worry, even if her stoic expression and demeanour were a constant testament otherwise much like the tides of her oceans were always softly directed by the moon that hung in the sky. She worried about the sun evaporating her currents dried, and the salt leaking into freshwater springs, and her family; [i especially] so her family considering how rarely she had time to visit or vice versa. Though, today was different as her icy child had offered to voyage out with one of her grandchildren; Captain Ice's nephew; Sea Fairy eagerly awaiting for their arrival whilst hidden under the waves. Even she had to be careful sometimes, one could never be too safe in the unforgiving sea most often.
As soon as they got close, Sorbet took a soft breath and leaned against the edge of the ship to look out over it. His grandmother's domain, always moving and sheltering life delicately within...he'd spent practically his whole life living on the ocean, and yet he felt like he barely knew it. He'd recently heard that the ancients and mythical Cookies could bless others with more power, more than Support Cookies, and he softly wondered something. He'd heard that they could only bless one Cookie, and no other, until their first blessed Cookie shattered. His parents always told him he had gotten blessed, but...it took him a moment to suddenly realize something, and he let out a soft grumble as he hoisted himself up onto the edge and dove into the ocean. He was quite speedy in the water, his lean but strong form pushing him through the water quickly down to the city where his grandmother awaited him.
Sea Fairy quickly looked up at the sound of water swirling around and bubbles following in its place, a small, barely visibly smile showing up on her face when she realized exactly who it would be. The fish had been calm that way, so there was no chance it was any form of typical aquatic life. "Ah, my little shark, welcome back!" She, cheerfully in comparison to her usual self, greeted with a pleased hum, rubbing his head softly with her free hand, the other one forever keeping a hold on her dagger. "Have you grown? My my, Moonlight must have blessed you with her height." Sea Fairy lightly joked, smiling a touch more.
"Hallo, Oma." He greeted softly, smiling at her before putting his arms around her gently in a hug. "Herb and Sparkling send their best." He nuzzled her cheek a bit, trying not to let his slight unhappiness show as he let out the mildest of sighs. "I- How have you been?" He asked as he smiled at her sheepishly, letting out a soft warbling noise out of habit as he shifted and began to play with his hands.
"I should be the one asking [i you] that instead, young shark," Sea Fairy commented with a soft sigh, it mixing with a gentle chuckle as she set her dagger down upon a bed of coral. "I have been fine though, but the seas have recently been growing restless. They seem calmed by your appearance back down here, however, which is nice. Moonlight sends her apologies that she cannot be here, Wizard City asked for her attendance today; she loves helping out with magic. Though, how have you been?"
"I've been fine. It's a bit rough up there, but at least Vati and Papa have places for me to stay." He mumbled out as he fidgeted softly, looking away with a soft sigh. His eyes glimmered softly as he rubbed his arm softly, shaking his head and hugging close to himself tightly. "I'm a bit confused about something, though..." He mumbled out as he looked at her, seeming fidgety.
"You are confused?" Sea Fairy asked out in repetition to ensure she had heard him correctly, pausing for a moment to allow him to confirm what she had heard was the case before humming out. "What about, my little guppy? I'm certain I can be of, at least some, help to you or provide advice if that is what you need. If not, I can show you to other people who could help better than I," She softly informed, quietly taking seat on a nearby smooth-faced rock brimming with coral every few patches, looking to her grandson to see if she could help.
"So...you and the others like you can bless other Cookies, right?" He asked after a moment of hesitation, then looked up at her with a softly concerned look on his face. "Did you...bless [i me?] Because..." He looked at his hands, seeing them shake a bit before he closed them and sighed quietly. "Vati and papa always say I've been blessed, but never by who, and...I don't know...I just don't want to be the one you kinda wasted your blessing on..."
The ruler of the oceans let out a thoughtful hum, watching little marine angelfish calmly swim by just beside her. Letting out a silent sigh and figuring now was the best time to explain, she motioned for Sorbet to join her sitting down before giving her explanation. "Truthfully? Yes, you are the one I've chosen. Despite the fact that we are family, you are as worthy as anybody else would be; on top of that, you have a natural favour for the ocean which is admittedly desirable for when I choose who to bless. Why would you think my blessing would be wasted on you?"
Sorbet stuttered a bit when he started to respond, flushing slightly at the stutter before sighing and hugging himself. "Why wouldn't I? I'm not really deserving of your blessing." He mumbled out, closing his eyes and sighing shakily as he ran his hand through his hair slightly. "I don't deserve this, I'm just a teenager."
Sea Fairy couldn't help but let out a snort, erupting into genuine laughter at her grandson's last comment, the entire nearby ocean around them coming alive while she laughed. "You were but a tiny child when I originally chose you, and you decide to say that now after how much you've grown? Oh you amuse me so, Sorbet."
