Bad hummed as he walked through the halls of their home, oftentimes finding himself lost in the place that should never have to be a place where you get lost. "Skeppy! Where are you?" He called out, looking around curiously before whining in soft worry. "Where is he...?" He mumbled nervously to himself, swallowing heavily and continuing to walk. Skeppy tended to get himself stuck in things in the house too. His eyes flicked around as the candle looked for his kissmate, peeking into rooms before sighing and calling his phone. "Pick up, Skeppy...or at least let it ring long enough for me to find you, please..."
Knelt down on the icy cold and smooth marble of his personal powder room where he kept a good majority of his various makeup supplies and palettes, Skeppy barely managed to violently hack out a shard of diamond lodged in his throat, wincing at the metallic taste of goopy blue liquid that came up with it. The diamond golem thought he had kept his carbon pressure and temperature under control that week, but clearly, he had been painfully proven wrong. Weakly coughing out in another attempt to clear his windpipe of the diamonds that furiously grew inside, his phone; that he had set on the countertop before sudden pain ensued; chimed with a happy and cheerful tone, a complete contrast to his current state. Skeppy didn't answer, however, too busy focusing on forcing a mouthful of diamond shards and deep blue blood free from his throat before the diamonds got a chance to grow any further. He didn't want to have his throat impaled; that was a painful lesson learnt in the past when one of his eyes got stabbed through by a patch of diamond growth.
The candle demon perked up at the sound of coughing, running to where he heard the sound and opening the door. "Skeppy?!" His eyes widened a bit at the sight, covering his mouth in both surprise and a sudden urge to both cough and throw up at the sight of his kissmate hacking up diamonds. He ran over and knelt by Skeppy, patting his back hesitantly as he watched him softly. "Skeppy...What's going on?" He spoke hesitantly, clearly concerned for him as he tried to figure out how he could possibly help him. It seemed like the diamonds were coming from within, so he couldn't exactly...help him get them out...Skeppy would have to get them out, Bad could only offer emotional support. He put a wing around him as he kept trying to comfort him.
Skeppy briefly gestured to the few diamonds he had thus far managed to pry free, his hand smearing a strand of the blue goop across the floor as he did so. He then pointed to his throat before erupting into a violent coughing fit; despite the circumstances, it was his best way to try and explain what exactly was happening. Diamonds, blood, and his throat. It didn't take a genius to figure out that he tried to say he got diamond patches not only outside, but inside of him as well, forcing out a large chunk after a few moments of struggling. Hopefully, for his own sake, going off appearances and size in comparison to the others, it seemed to be the main centre stone of the diamonds, meaning he wouldn't have to worry about large stones. However, it did mean Skeppy would have to worry about the risk of smaller pieces going into his stomach or lungs. To prevent any further internal damage, he weakly collapsed onto his side, laying on the floor to keep the shards from falling down. It was a painful process to the diamond golem, and surely somewhat disturbing to anyone who witnessed, but eventually, Skeppy managed to cough out the last stone lodged in his throat, looking like a gruesome mess by that point.
The candle watched with a concerned whine, his tail curling a bit before quietly moving to grab a few cleaning supplies. He set them aside first though, preferring to gently pick up his kissmate and hold him close. "Skeppy...are you gonna be okay...?" He asked softly, clearly worried for him as he brushed some of the diamond golem's hair out of his face. "That looked really painful..." His voice shook a bit as he spoke, watching him after a moment before sighing and trying to figure out what to do. "That kinda seemed like my melting stages, does that happen a lot?" He asked hesitantly, the demon hoping that there was some way for him to keep Skeppy feeling okay even when it wasn't.
Skeppy hummed out in a so-so manner, wiping at his mouth in desperate attempt to rid the metallic taste of blood his tongue was overwhelmed with at the moment while he struggled to find the right words to speak. Pray to HD his vocal chords still worked and didn't get damaged in the process. "Ki- inda...? Carbon buil-" He took a sharp breath, gagging up a tiny shard, sticking it out on his tongue before tossing it onto the floor to join the others. "Buildup a-and heat makes diamonds. Natur- rally have lot of carbon, internal body tem-p got too high. Di- diamond grows anywhere. Stops when rem- moved" Skeppy spoke out in a raspy voice with fragmated, incomplete sentences, not finding enough motivation to want to speak fluently. Too much pain, too much blood loss, but he tried his unmotivated best to explain just for the demon.
"Oh, Skeppy..." He mumbled, clearly concerned before standing up with the diamond golem in his arms. He wandered off and quietly hummed to himself, placing Skeppy down on the chest next to his brewing stand before pulling some materials out of another chest nearby. Once he got the right ones, he placed them together and sat with him as he sighed softly. The demon was clearly concerned about him, but at least trying to make it seem like everything was going to be okay. He leaned the other's head on his shoulder gently, petting his hair gently and only getting up when he heard and smelled the potions finishing on the armor stand. He'd made two just in case that was what Skeppy needed, corking one before handing the other to him gently. "Here..."
Skeppy eyed the potion handed to him silently for a few moments, but, just like before, not finding enough motivation or want to speak fluently, or even at all at that point. Reluctantly, he downed the potion in a few heavy gulps as if it were nothing but water, his face visibly retorting and cringing at the taste. However, the diamond golem didn't complain about the putrid taste for once, instead focused on letting his throat rest while it healed. With a newfound silent determination to not speak to allow his voice to rest, Skeppy set the empty bottle aside once the liquid had been completely downed, making grabby hands at his kissmate soon after in order to ask for hugs, or kisses, or cuddles; affection in general; with the hopes to turn the bitter moment into bitter-sweet at the very least. As much as he generally wouldn't admit it, he hated ever making Bad worry so much or burden the demon with taking care of him if something were to happen.
Bad immediately scooped up his kissmate, starting to kiss and nuzzle at him as he smiled softly. "There's my Skeppy." He spoke gently, closing his eyes and smiling as he gently nuzzled his head under Skeppy's. "There's my pretty kissmate." His voice was soft and affectionate as he smiled down at him, nuzzling him with soft giggles spilling from his lips at the idea of Skeppy's witty quips. "I love you~!" He chirped out, trying his best to sound cheery despite his fear that Skeppy could be growing more diamonds inside him that could...he shook his head a bit to shake that fear away.
Skeppy brightly smiled, returning the nuzzles he was given before scattering happy kisses across Bad's face without a moment of hesitation, his usual excitable demeanour rapid and quick to return. He let his throat properly recover as he did so, happy to pass a small portion of time smothering Bad with reciprocated affection as if his bloody episode hadn't commenced mere minutes ago. In a sense, he was trying to ignore it altogether, as if it was something he had complete control over; even though he didn't whatsoever; and brought him unparalleled amounts of shame. Regardless, he pressed a kiss to the demon's forehead, "I love you too~!" Skepy chirped out in return with a fond grin once he was confident that it was alright to speak again considering his throat felt millions of times better than before.
"Ah-haha!!" He giggled happily as he snuggled with him, nuzzling him while letting out soft demon chirps and trills. "You're so pretty, Skeppy!!" He chirped excitedly, giggling and kissing him over and over to try and bring an even bigger smile to his beloved's face. His eyes glimmered as he wiggled with an insatiable energy, leaning in and bonking their heads together. "...My pretty kissmate..." He mumbled, refusing to let go of him even if Skeppy tried to squirm out of his grip.
Skeppy grinned from ear to ear, letting out a surprised, but otherwise perfectly happy laugh upon their heads being bonked together. Then again, he really shouldn't be surprised considering it was [i Bad] and they oftentimes did so, but in his defence, he wasn't super used to being bonked. Whatever, he happily laughed it off as he stuck out his tongue for a moment before nuzzling at the demon once more. "...You're amazing Bad, did you know that?... You're also a bit of a muffin head from time to time, I'm just saying." Skeppy playfully commented with a lighthearted snicker.
Bad gasped softly, putting an offended hand on his chest as he glared at him. "How dare you!?" He scoffed softly, rolling his eyes before perking up as he heard the door. "Huh...? Who's that?" He asked as he walked out of the room, trotting up to the door and opening it. "Oh. Hey Eret!" He chirped, waving to the fashionista queen. He pulled his sunglasses down as she smiled, humming to himself. "Hey, Bad. Skeppy." They hummed with a light smile, walking inside once the demon allowed him inside. "I had a few ideas for outfits for you two." She chuckled lightly while watching the kissmates, Bad coming to wrap his arms around Skeppy as he tilted his head curiously. "Really-?"
Skeppy raised a brow at Eret's sudden appearance but waved a friendly hello nonetheless, soon raising it up ever higher at the mention of outfit ideas for him and Bad. "Tell me it's not coming out of my salary," He whined jokingly, the warm smile on his face clearly showing he didn't mind nor cared either way. Considering that they weren't the type to show up unannounced without good reason or unpure motives, he hummed out for a second, "I'm down, what did you have in mind?" Skeppy asked curiously, pausing a moment before asking another quick, yet important, question. "Do you have Bad's measurements already, by the way? Or do we need to get them first?"
"I can get them quickly." They hummed easily, Bad nodding and smiling lightly. "I'll definitely comply, then." He hummed, going ahead and taking off his cloak and any accessories he had so that he could get as accurate measurements as he could. Eret pulled a tape measure out, getting the measurements she needed quickly before thinking about what would look best. What colors, what shades, lengths of sleeves and legs...they seemed to think for a while, then went into one of the many free rooms and set up his sewing machine. Bad helped get it set up by Eret's request.
"Completely ignored my first question, ouch. Alright, I see how it is today," Skeppy sarcastically commented with a roll of his eyes, following Eret and Bad into the free room Bad had led her to, pulling up a chair to sit in it, chest facing the back, resting his arms and head on the head of the chair. "Redemption time, what did you have in mind, your highness?" The diamond golem restated with a quiet snicker to himself, unhappy to simply wait and see as he always was.
"I'm sure they'll tell us in due time, Skeppy!" Bad chirped as he sat in his chair properly, watching Eret as he pulled out a bunch of rolls of fabric. He measured some out using Skeppy's measurements, mostly using some cyans and blues while adding small patches of red. She happily sewed them together, adding a few tasteful gemstones where they felt they needed to. "I'm just gonna let my work speak for itself." They smirked lightly before standing up and holding out the freshly-stitched piece.
