Sapnap narrowed his eyes as he tried his best not to let his hands shake, making sure that he would get the right measurements in while ignoring how Quackity and Karl were bickering about how they were working. "You two, [i please."] He grumbled lightly, making sure that he got the right chemicals together while stirring some chemicals in a beaker. There it was, the color he was looking for. He grinned lightly before pouring them into another beaker set over a bunsen burner, yawning lightly and tying his hair up a bit using the ties of his bandanna as he hummed. "Alright...here goes nothing..." He whispered, pouring two chemicals together before pushing Karl back as the mix poofed out a bit of smoke. "Yesss!!"
"Ayo, that was pog??? Let's go Sapnap!" Karl supportively cheered as he sat atop a stool inside of the lab-like classroom soon after Sapnap gently pushed him away from the chemicals he was toying around with. For his own mentality, he decided to ignore Quackity despite the three of them being grouped together for their latest assignment, which was what Sapnap was experimenting with currently. If he were being honest, he was tempted to pull out his phone and play Subway Surfers, trusting Sapnap enough to finish the experiment. The only thing stopping him was that he needed to pass this class as much as any other person did; it was a mandatory credit to get, after all; so, reluctantly, he kept his phone hidden in his pocket, fiddling with the sleeves of his issued lab coat and goggles.
Quackity huffed softly as he decided to go over and bother Wilbur, leaving Sapnap with Karl as the bandanna-wearing man looked over at him with a quiet smile. "Thanks. Do you want to try and do the next one? It's pretty simple." He smiled wider, putting his hands near Karl and leaning on the table. Sapnap knew that Karl was better with astrophysics but he also wanted Karl to get a good grade in this class, his eyes glimmering as he watched him. "Part of the grade for this is participation, so." He hummed lightly, putting his arms behind his head while tightening the ponytail he'd put his hair into.
"It almost sounds like you're accusing me of not doing my fair share of work. You know I prefer black holes over your oh-so-beloved chemical flames," Karl sneered with a giggly laugh, sliding off the stool he had sat on moments prior. It was just mixing chemicals from what the instructions had stated, and plus, he got a live little demo by watching Sapnap, so he had the next experiment in the bag as if chemistry was a game for him set on easy mode. Technically it [i was,] as astrophysics oftentimes had to reference various chemistry terms in order to explain the unknown. "Aaaalright, so, I just gotta make sure these beakers have some [i spicy] chemistry? Easy, easy," He joked as he moved forward, crouching down to carefully follow the instructions he had to, cautiously mixing together specific amounts of chemicals until they produced the certain colour he needed, paired alongside with a similar puff of smoke that Sapnap's chemical concoction had created.
Sapnap put his hand over his heart with a soft scoff, but clapped once the chemicals mixed together like they were supposed to. "Nice job, Karl." He chirped excitedly, smiling to him as he sat at the table in order to write down his notes on what he was supposed to. His eyes glimmered as he glanced at him, watching him for a moment before reaching out and tugging on Karl's sleeve. "Hey." He hummed lightly, pushing a piece of paper over to him as he smiled gently. Sapnap had some sparkly pens from George anyway, so he'd decided to use them in order to do something cute. "My heart is made of Gallium. It melts when you’re close to me." Was what was scribbled on the paper with silver pens.
Karl quietly sat back down and scribbled down the notes the class was encouraged to take, switching between numerous colours of gel pens because he could never settle for just one colour. He curiously eyed Sapnap when the other pushed a paper his way, looking down to it and reading over what he had written. It didn't take him long at all to noiselessly gasp in slight surprise and go a light shade of pink, nor did it take him very long to write something in return, of course still using various different colours of his gel pens. Karl slid the paper back over once he was done taking his sweet time writing up a response, quietly giggling to himself the entire time he wrote. On the paper, he had neatly written, "I must be magnesium and you must be oxygen because I light up when I’m with you!"
"You’re so hot that you would make a nuclear reactor meltdown." Sapnap snickered as he pushed the paper back, quietly covering his mouth before scooting closer and moving to nuzzle at him lightly. "Hello." He mumbled out, closing his eyes as he smiled lightheartedly. Of course he wanted to flirt with him even in class, smiling at him before sticking his tongue out at him. "Want to go on a date with me?" He asked after a moment, tilting his head and smiling to him while putting his head down in order to pretend like Karl didn't sit up straighter than the chemistry major.
Karl only smiled further, looking between Sapnap and the notes on screen while still jotting them down in his journal. "Geez, do you want us to get in trouble? Go back to taking your notes," He lightheartedly scolded, only half-meaning what he had softly hissed out, softly nudging Sapnap away with the quietest of giggles. He didn't want either of them to get in trouble for disrupting the class, so he tucked the conversation to the side for the time being, though he did have an answer for Sapnap's question. Karl grabbed at the paper the two had passed between each other, writing something else onto it with decorative calligraphy, quietly sliding it back in Sapnap's direction. Of course, he took the opportunity to make it yet another chemistry-themed reply, happy to support Sapnap's major even in silly ways such as he did. "Deuterium, Uranium, and Hydrogen; DUH, you nimrod."
He didn't look at it at first, just sliding it under his own notesheet before opening it after a moment. His eyes lit up a bit before he grinned and tried his best not to squeal, seeming pretty excited as he looked over at Karl with a soft grin. He was [i going] to say something but the bell rang, making him flinch as he looked up at the door. "I'll, uh- I'll pick you up after classes end for the day??" He kinda sounded like he was questioning himself, but he didn't have time to question it more as he grabbed his thing and jogged off to his next class.
The astrophysics major let out a chirpish laugh at how questioning Sapnap sounded, softly nodding a few times in approval with the idea he was pitched while he gathered his things and shoved it all into his bag. "Sounds good to me, talk to ya later then," He didn't have to rush nearly as much as the other students, considering a good majority of his classes were in the same space/science wing of the building, waving Sapnap off as he jogged off, soon after heading to the next classes he had for the day, visibly excited for the rest of the day, eager for the school day to officially conclude.
Sapnap was fidgety the whole rest of the day, running up to the astrophysics major once the day concluded before grabbing him and hugging him tightly. "HI!" He chirped lightheartedly, closing his eyes and smiling to himself. He wanted so badly to just cover his face in kisses, grinning softly at him before booping him. "You ready to go out? I know a place we can go!" He chirped softly, wiggling in a form of a stim since he knew he wouldn't be able to focus on [i anything] if he didn't let himself vent out some energy.
"Nimrooood; you're so clingyyyyy, you won't even let me get dressed and look all cute for our dateeeee," Karl playfully whined, having to force himself to not erupt into a giggling fit, giving the chemistry major a gentle nuzzle. "But yes, I'm ready to go Sappitus Nappitus, show me de way! You [i do] know de way, don't you?" He joked with a lighthearted laugh, sifting a moment through his pockets before pulling out a slinky and fidgeting with it. Much like Sapnap needed to wiggle to stim, Karl needed small fidgets to keep himself focused; gosh, he'd get hellishly embarrassed if he spaced out for a moment staring at Sapnap and how admirably handsome he was... Aaaand he already did that, blinking back into reality a few times, forcing himself to play it off with a smile.
Sapnap grinned lightly before pulling Karl to the dorms that him, Quackity, all the Feral Boys share as he pushed Karl towards the purple-clad boy's room. "Go get readdyyyyy!!!!" He squealed softly before going into his own room, grabbing some clothes and quickly changing. He loved this outfit to death, but never showed it to many people since he preferred wearing long clothing around both other people and chemicals. Given, this was pretty long, but he knew that this was more of a date outfit than one for class or many other people on campus to see.
Karl giggled up a storm, running into his room when prompted to do so, more than happy to take the extra time to pamper himself to ensure he looked good. It didn't hurt that he already had an outfit in mind either, sparing him the gruelling and time-wasting task of debating over what he should or shouldn't wear. He even took a few moments to touch up his nail polish to ensure it wasn't cracking or flaking anywhere; if there was one thing he hated, it was flaking nail polish, it drove him livid sometimes. Karl slid out of his dorm room and quietly closed the door behind him once he was done, fidgeting with the same slinky from earlier to silently stim as an attempt to contain his sheer excitement from the fact he was going on a date with [i Sapnap.]
Sapnap slid out of his room after a moment, looking at Karl before grinning softly and running over to him. "Hi! You look amazing!" He chirped excitedly, hugging him tightly before nuzzling his cheeks lightly. "Okay okay...uh...we could go to a bar and get wings, or like-...a regular restaurant- that might be better- uh-" He sighed quietly, shaking his head to calm down. Never mind he was going on a fucking date with the man he's had the biggest fucking crush on since [i forever,] or that Karl had seen fit to actually try to date him! He squealed a bit as he wiggled softly, grinning to himself.
Karl let out a happy giggle, he himself doing his best to stay calm, though that was a difficult feat to manage considering he found Sapnap's excitement to be wildly contagious, which only amplified his own giddiness. "One sounds openly casual and the other sounds like a more serious date, if you ask me, but they both sound just fine to me, Sappy," He offered out, genuinely and honestly approving of both ideas that the other had spewed out. Karl smiled evermore while the seconds passed, his light fidgeting also getting mildly more consistent as he rocked on the balls of his feet.
He smacked his cheeks gently in order to focus on the task at hand, looking up at Karl before gently holding his hand out to him. "I'm gonna give you the best date you've ever been on, Karl Jacobs, and that's a promise!" He spoke out in a serious tone that completely contrasted the grin on his face, that [i stupid,] [b dorky] grin of his. He gently lead him out to the car that Sapnap owned, opening the door for his date and letting him inside first before getting into the car and holding his phone out to Karl. "You wanna choose the music?" He offered lightly, smiling to him as he hummed gently.
Karl had to pause for a moment to process the offer, positively beaming with joy once his brain had computed enough to understand. "Ohohohoho??? You're already off to a good start, like holy honk???" He giggled out as he gently grabbed Sapnap's phone from him, happily typing away to find the [i perfect] playlist of iconic songs he knew that the both of them knew by heart. After all, music was always better when you could enjoy a song with somebody else, especially when the first song on the playlist was Sweater Weather. Karl swiftly returned the phone back to his crush- now date, geez that made him so bubbly and giggly realizing- not wanting to betray his trust by snooping around on it, instead happily singing along to the song that played.
Sapnap happily sang along with him, driving them to the restaurant he had in mind before grinning at him. "Do you want to go inside to sit or just get takeout? Either way is fine with me!" He hummed out, putting the car in park and quietly hugging one of his knees into his chest since he felt like he was going to explode if he didn't curl in on himself more. He looked up at the sky as he himself considered the options, knowing that it was gonna rain later. "We should choose soon, it's gonna rain soon."
Karl quietly leaned forwards, turning down the volume of the music that played from the speaker so it was playing softer than before. "Good question, we don't want to risk getting soaked by taking too long to think..." He mumbled out, drumming his fingertips against his thighs for a moment before fiddling with the rings on those fingers. With a quiet breath of air, Karl hummed. Surely just this once it wouldn't hurt to be greedy and have his crush completely to himself, right? Sapnap [i did] say he was fine with either, after all. "Takeout, uhm, gets my vote... Your car is cozy, plus, I get to control the music, and you can count on me that this is a certified good playlist." Karl answered with a quiet laugh, offering up Sapnap one of his fondly goofy smiles.
He smiled at him before putting his arms behind his head, casually humming. "Why don't you look at the menu online, give me your order, and I'll go get the food?" He offered out, humming along with the music as he closed his eyes. It seemed that he was happy, quietly waiting as he closed his eyes and smiled. "I'm sure this is gonna be fun." He hummed lightheartedly, smiling to himself as he leaned against the window.
"Aww, you're so kind Sappy! Okay, okay, give me a second then," Karl said, skittering in his seat a little to pull his phone out from his pocket, glancing up to catch the name of the restaurant before looking up the menu online. He skimmed through it briefly, looking for anything that caught his eye; he didn't want to take long considering it seemed like it was bound to rain soon and he didn't want Sapnap to come back from inside the restaurant with their food while it was pouring. Karl lightly bit his lip as he continued to search for a moment longer, finding what he wanted before showing his phone to Sapnap as he smiled. "There ya go, and I'll trust your drink judgement, so get me whatever you want as long as it's not dogwater."
He laughed at the last comment before kissing his cheek and getting out of the car, closing the door and running inside to order the food. The sky was dark with storm clouds, and it took until Sapnap got out of the restaurant before the first drops came down slowly. He ran over to the car quickly as he could, getting into the car before panting softly. "Whew..." He panted lightly, handing Karl's over to him. "Here ya go, Jacobs, eat up!"
"Honk yeah, thank youuuuu!" Karl chirpishly cheered out, leaning over a tiny bit to kiss his cheek to further emphasize his thanks, otherwise as visibly excited as a little puppy would be at the arrival of Sapnap. And the food too, he supposed, that was also something to be excited over. Speaking of said food, he more than happily dug into his meal without needing to be told twice, munching down on it while he hummed contently along to the song that was softly playing from the speakers, doing his best not to be a messy eater as he didn't want to stain his clothes nor Sapnap's car.
Sapnap closed his eyes and began to eat quietly, secretly pulling a shake out and placing it into Karl's lap as he opened his eyes once again to ensure the shake didn't get knocked over. "Heeereeee...I got this for you." He smiled up at him softly, singing along with the song between bites of food. He seemed so happy to be spending time with him, looking at him with a gentle grin. "Having fun yet, Jacobs?" He teased softly, laughing happily while eating the rest of his chicken strip.
Karl let out a happy, quiet snort, playfully rolling his eyes as he finished the last few bites of the grilled cheese Sapnap had kindly fetched for him. "I [i always] have fun when I'm with you, nimrod. I don't see how that question's any fair," He teased softly back in return as he stuck his tongue out in playful defiance. Karl was happily grinning at this point, pulling his hands into his sleeves to make ever so slight sweater paws before sipping at the shake he was given, silently appreciative of the other's consideration for having got it for him.
"What's with that nickname?" Sapnap pouted as the rain gently beat on the exterior of the car, sticking his tongue out. "I'm not a nimrod, I'm big and tough! I might not be a jock, but I could still kick someone's ass if I needed to!" He grinned lightheartedly, hoping Karl would take it as a joke, as he intended it. In all actuality, he would try for diplomacy first before anything else. He didn't want to get attacked after all, instead preferring to work with chemicals and make fire or even better, spend time with the love of his life. He sighed lightly as he watched him, not realizing he was just...admiring him...
"You are a nimrod, you are a nimrod! Nimrod, nimrod, nimrod, nimrod!" Karl chirped out in a sing-songy voice, sticking his tongue back out in an overly childish manner whilst he giggled. It wasn't a bad thing in his opinion to be called a nimrod, as it was a silly-goofy term of endearment to him. Karl quietly sipped at his shake to help himself calm down from his giggle-fest; he would be bouncing off the walls of the car otherwise; humming along to the song to himself before reaching one of his sweater-pawed hands over to gently boop his nose. "Boop!"
He looked at him before reaching out to take Karl’s hand, his own hand shaking as he hesitantly took the sweater paw in his hands. He looked at it before moving the fabric in order to place Karl’s hand on the chemistry major’s cheek, kissing his palm and letting out an oddly comforted sigh. “Mm…I…” He started, but his voice trailed into inaudible mumbles as he purred softly.
Karl blinked a few times in silent shock, keeping his hand set still where it was placed on Sapnap's cheek, quietly processing the calming sight in front of him. It took him a few moments to internally calm down from a tiny flustered and panicked mental episode, but he was quick and more than happy to gently rub his cheek with a fond smile with an all too familiar content and goofy smile on his face. He couldn't help himself, he was genuinely happy. "I didn't know you could purr like a kitty, Sappy..." Karl muttered out softly, his voice oozing with adoration.
He looked up at him before smiling softly, stroking his hand over the back of Karl’s as he took a breath. “Can we get into the back and cuddle…?” Sapnap was known as someone kind usually, but even this side of him was seldom seen by anyone. Only people he feels safe with can see even a hint of this, smiling softly as he slowly slipped into the backseats and held his arms out for his date. They were acting like a couple, he’d realized, but he didn’t care. It just emboldened him.
Karl blinked in surprise yet again, watching Sapnap as he slipped into the backseats, quietly gulping down what little remained of his shake. He turned the speaker's volume up just a smidge before following after the chemistry major's example and sliding back to join him, albeit a little clumsily as cars weren't exactly built to be switching between the front and backseats. Who was he to deny an opportunity to get some physical affection, especially so considering it was his love language? Karl proceeded to cuddle up to him, humming out in sheer bliss, "I honking swear if this ends up being a [i really] livid dream, I think I might just wake up bawling..." He mumbled out, moreso to himself than anything, quietly hinting at just how badly he hoped it all was real.
Sapnap quietly pulled a vape from his pocket, fidgeting with it before taking a soft breath and looking down at him. “Trust me, this is real, Jacobs.” He hummed softly, cuddling with him in the backseat of the car for a while as he occasionally took hits from the vape. He luckily blew them out the window, but he set it aside as he leaned his head back with a soft groan. He was sleepy and kinda in and out of it, quietly pulling Karl up so that their faces held close to one another. His breath smelled pleasant, their lips nearly touching. “I just wanna…taste, please..”
Karl hummed out quietly, letting the hum dissolve into a light giggle. He fully understood what was requested of him, and, in any other situation, he would have easily turned red and shy. This time, though, he was too lost in the moment to care much about getting flustered and embarrassed; the astrophysics major [i did] turn a warm hue of red, however; instead giving the other a teasing little peck to his lips, as a sample if you will. "If you wanted some of my shake, you could have just asked, Sappy," Karl added on, continuing with his playful tease by giving him another quick little peck.
He pulled him into a deeper kiss after a moment, letting out the softest of sighs as he instantly relaxed. Sapnap kinda tasted like the flavoring of his vape, kissing him multiple times before swallowing as he pulled back and lightly panted. He was very much out of breath, but he enjoyed the moment as he looked up at him with a gentle look. "...Hi...you taste really good." He mumbled out, leaning their foreheads together and sighing as he held him close. His heart was speeding up hardcore, snuggling with him as he giggled softly.
