Caleb had been sitting here for over an hour, bidding on a male monster down on the stage... It was illegal, of course, to buy monsters as pet but here Caleb was, in the crowd amongst all the rest. He finally called out "Five Thousand Dollars!" and silence spiled from the crowd. He won of course, winning by over four hundred dollars. Caleb smiled, going backstage to go collect his prize, a fresh new pet for him. He pushed past the crowd to get to his new pet, annoyed grumbles coming from different people. He made it to the stage and handed his money to one of the guards, then they allowed him in. He walked past a few cages and over to a woman, she held the key to the males' cage, an annoyed look on her face. He grabbed the key and then looked into the cage, meeting eyes with the monster.
He shook his head, unaware of who the male 'Tom Lehrer' was. He asked kindly, "Who is this, Tom Lehrer? I've never heard of him before." His voice was low, somewhat deep with hints of a country accent tugging at the edges as he spoke. He glanced back at you through the rear-view mirror, a smile on his face.
He spoke lowly, "I dunno... Didn't think you'd be much for conversation." His accent picked up a bit heavily at this end and he smirked, glancing back at you. He then looked ahead again, a small smile on his face as his house appeared in the distance. It was a large, lodge-like house.
He laughed calmly and winked at the male playfully, giggling softly. He then shook his head, "Not anytime soon, no..." He laughed quietly again, opening the door to allow you inside. It smelled like maple and wood, both complimenting each other. He smiled and then followed you inside, locking the door behind him.
He smirked at that again, looking down at you. He tilted his head a little bit and asked, "You alright...?" He crouched down just a bit to try and meet your eyes, a smirk on his face. He held out his hand, "I'm Caleb, Who are you? I might be able to help you a bit more if I know your name..." He said, his tone was kind with a honey-like sweetness to it.
His eyes went wide and he whistled, a smirk on his face. "Fifty? That's... Wow..." He chuckled, looking at the male. "Well fine then, I don't care and I will make sure to not care in the future, then, Mr. Know-It-All~" He smirked and stood upright, turning away from you and walking off without another word.
Though Caleb said he wouldn't care for the monster, his heart got the best of him and he walked over. He slowly and gently picked the spider boy up, carrying him upstairs and to a small room. He laid the male on the bed and turned to the door, closing it behind him. He then went downstairs and laid on the couch, half-asleep from listening to the white noise of a fan in the room nearby.
[Few hours later.] Shroud woke up in the middle of the night. Rubbing his eyes, he got up. "Big mistake-.." He said as he reached for the nearest window, opening it. "It twas fun-.. but-.. freedom is much better..'' He jumped out, landing in a bush. He got sorted and ran to the nearest clearing in the forest.
He sat up, waking from a light sleep. He heard soft footsteps heading away from the house. He went to his bedroom and grabbed his blade... It was a 9" Military USMC Tactical, a glorious blade. He smiled and ran out of his house, following the footprints left by the male. He stayed a good distance away and then took a few small breaths. He then began to silently close in on the male, gripping his blade tightly.
As Caleb got closer to shroud, webs started to form around him. They started off sparse, but the webs became more dense the further he came. ''Hyh qfhw! xe'jy puwwyv haf idd!" Shroud shouted, looking at a few black trees.
