Sam looked around in a stressed manner, taking a soft breath before running through the halls of the prison. "Ponk, Ponk, Ponk, come on, please don't have taken the cards..." He whispered softly while looking around in panic, searching for the lemon mayor. "Please please please let it just have been me being stupid and dropping them somewhere or something, I don't want it to have been Ponk..." He continued to whisper, looking around before taking a sniff of the air around him, his tail swishing as he slowly picks up the scent of lemons, Ponk's specific body wash, and the slight smell of lava. He cursed softly before darting down the hall quickly, looking around as he struggled to keep the Warden down in his head, hugging himself as he trotted around. "...Ponk...? Are you here? Please come out, I don't want to fight with you...I don't want you to have stolen the cards! Please, Ponkie!" He called out.
Ponk popped his head out of the breakroom, munching on a sandwich he held in his mouth, glancing around for Sam after hearing the creeper hybrid calling out for him. He finished his bite and swallowed, taking a few steps out of the warmly decorated breakroom just to keep an eye out for the other. "Yeah, Sam? I'm at the breakroom!" Ponk called out in response, munching at his sub once more. Speaking of said sub, he had to beg Antfrost a little bit to get him something to eat, having forgotten his own meal at home, thus explaining his earlier disappearance. He was happy with ending up bartering his lemon bar recipe in exchange for his favourite sub, stuffed silly with various meats and cheeses. He slid back into the breakroom after keeping an eye out for a few more moments, going back to plopping atop the couch and casually chilling as he contently ate.
Sam's eyes widened before he walked over to the breakroom, entering it and watching him for a moment before coming over to him and settling down in front of him. "Hey Ponkie..." He mumbled out as he looked up at him, moving and placing his head onto his lover's lap with a soft smile. "Mmm...Hey, I gotta question for you, sweetie." He mumbled out as he looked up at him, his tail patting the ground in happiness from seeing his lover. He was oh-so lovestruck by the lemon mayor, seeming to purr as he closed his eyes happily. "Do you know where the keycards are? I've lost track of them, I need them quickly." He put his hands under his head quietly, looking up at him as he stuck his tongue out slightly in hopes that it would make him smile and maybe tell him where the cards are, if he knows where they are.
Ponk softly smiled and giggled a little at his lovers slightly silly expression before he hummed and thought, chewing a small bite of his sub while doing so. He offered the sandwich to Sam as he shook his head gently a few times. "No, I don't know where they are Sammy, I'm sorry. Maybe they're in your office somewhere? You could have misplaced them on accident. You could also try asking Antfrost too, I was with him up until a little while ago." He said, genuinely not knowing where the keycards were, but offering up a few of his ideas as to where they might be in return. "I could help you look, if you'd like. After lunch, though. Lunch takes first priority, Sam; food *always* takes first priority."
"Maybe for you." He responded to the last statement casually, then moved to lay on the ground quietly for a moment. His eyes glowed lightly under his mask as he looked down to the ground, being quiet as his tail twitched softly. "..." The fur on his bottom half looked ruffled up in stress, and he sighed before moving onto his side and ignoring how cold the ground was. Well, as much as he could, given how cold it actually was, and the fact that his fur wasn't layered correctly to stand up to the cold. He stood up after a moment, grabbing his blanket before putting it around himself and laying back down on his side in order to be comfortably. His front two paws before kneading the air softly, his hands remaining close to himself.
"Food is very important, Sam. You should try it sometime," Ponk shot back sarcastically as he kept munching away at his beloved sub. He eyed the creeper hybrid silently as he ate, looking him up and down, from top to bottom. The lemon mayor took a second to simply think before he sat up fully and tore off half of his more-than-filling sandwich and managing to place it in Sam's hands, expecting him to eat it, swiftly scarfing down the rest of his part before getting up and promptly leaving. He didn't explain where he was going, merely leaving the room to fetch something; specifically, Sam's brush; returning soon after he found said item. Ponk then plopped down on the floor next to Sam and gently brushed through his fur, humming a Kanye tune to himself as he did so.
Sam rolled his eyes, then thought to himself until he looked up at the feeling of the food being shoved into his hands. He stared at the food before sighing softly and beginning to eat until he felt the brush run through his fur, beginning to purr softly as he smiled happily. He seemed so happy now, closing his eyes as he continued to eat the sub while Ponk brushed his fur. He seemed oh-so comfortable now, relaxing as he sighed out and smiled more, feeling his fur tamp down comfortably as Ponk brushed his fur out. He then finished the food comfortably, closing his eyes and purring softly while looking over at Ponk.
"Your fur's in light knots again, Saammm. Have you been brushing it regularly?? You know you're supposed to," Ponk softly whined as he did his best to gently brush his fur out so it was nice and soft once more. He enjoyed doing so, though, letting a happy smile grace his face as he worked away at brushing out and lightly cleaning his lover's fur. "It's a-okay though, you're lucky you have me to brush it for you! And brush it I shall until it's soft and fluffy again!" Ponk exclaimed cheerfully, rubbing his other hand gently across Sam's side before going back to contently humming his beloved Kanye tune to himself.
Sam let out a soft chuckle before looking down at him, beginning to purr sweetly as his front paws went back to kneading the air happily. He seemed so happy to have Ponk brushing his fur, closing his eyes comfortably as his tail brushed the ground slowly. "Mmmm...thanks, Ponkie..." He mumbled out sleepily, sighing as he used his arm as a pillow in order to be more comfortable. "You're amazing at this, you know..." He whispered out as he looked at him, his tail lightly smacking the ground as he continued to lay on the ground. He had caught on to the tune, and began to hum along with him happily.
Ponk smiled further at the sound of receiving praise for his work, shifting his position a little bit once he was done brushing the fur on the side Sam wasn't laying on. He more than happily continued to hum his tune with the creeper hybrid, scooting away until he was on his other side, gently pushing him over so he could properly brush out all of his fur, not just what little he could manage to brush. "Show me your belly!!! I must continue brushing!!" He declared playfully as he kept trying to get Sam to flop over on his other side.
"I'll never surrender to you, I'm the alpha here!" Sam played back as he let out a creeper hiss, knowing Ponk could tell the difference between when he was playing and when he was serious. He let out short, almost bursts of hisses when he was playing, but let the hiss draw out like a regular creeper's when he was serious. His tail smacked the ground as he looked up at him, giving him a challenging look as he stuck his tongue out. "Fight me." He declared playfully, making some sort of puffing sound as he leaned up to smirk at him softly.
Ponk let out a snort mixed with a giggly laugh as he rolled his eyes. "Fine, ask for a fight and a fight you shall get." He retorted, setting down the brush on the floor next to him before standing up and sitting on top of his back, straddling him without a saddle as if it were something they casually did all the time. "Let's go kitten, one lap around the prison, no saddle." Ponk playfully demanded as he did his best to contain his giddy giggling, lightly pulling at Sam's fur, knowing it wouldn't hurt since he was being gentle. "Let's go show aaaaaall the prisoners how nicely groomed only *one* side of you looks."
Sam rolled his eyes and merely sat down, making sure Ponk slid down his back as he raised an eyebrow at him. "You were saying?" He spoke casually as he looked back at him, tsking softly before standing up and shaking himself out swiftly with a soft chuckle. "Hm, hm, hm..." He hummed out as he looked around, thinking quietly. "We should go find the keycards before they fall into hands they shouldn't be in..." He whispered before pulling his saddle out, looking down at it as voices shouted in his head. Arguing, yelling, screaming, ANGER. It made his eyes glow softly as he took a shaky breath, closing them as he sat back on the ground. "Calm down, Sam..."
Ponk sat on the floor after sliding down Sam's back like he were a slide, blinking a few times from such a weird experience. He gently shook the thought of what had just happened out of his head, looking at the creeper hybrid as he stood up once again, this time messily running his fingers through the other's hair. "I can go interrogate Antfrost if you'd like, maybe even some of the prisoners too, while you search around?" The lemon mayor offered as he pulled his typical multicoloured ski mask over his head with his free hand. "It seems like the most efficient option I can think of at the moment."
"Yeah...yeah, yeah, just...be careful." He looked at him before standing up and handing Ponk the saddle. He then smiled slightly, his tail swishing aggressively as he looked around in slight confusion. He let Ponk get up onto his back after that, wandering through the prison and occasionally letting Ponk off of his back as he looked back at him. "Be careful." He repeated before beginning to comb the prison from top to bottom as much as he could.
Ponk swiftly got to work, hunting down Ant's location first and foremost, having a chat with him to see if the feline knew anything. Thankfully for Ant's sake, he came up empty, and Ponk bid him farewell, now shifting his attention to interviewing the prisoners to see if they knew anything. By the time he got to Techno, he already scraped up enough information to make a decent educated guess as to who actually had the keycards, but his talk with the piglin only confirmed that guess. The lemon mayor went to stroll around the prison, keeping an eye out for the creeper hybrid since they had gone their separate ways to search more efficiently. "Sam! Saaaammmm! I've got *the scoop*!" He called out, now starting an entirely new search for Sam.
Sam snarled at a prisoner before perking up and running over to Ponk, grinning softly. "Ponkie! Who is it, do you know?!" He asked softly, seeming excited and nervous at the same time. He hadn't found the key cards, so he needed the reassurance that Ponk knew where they were. "Please please please tell me you know where they are or who took them..." He whispered softly as his tail twitched softly, flicking as he took a soft breath. However, a ringing filled his ears as he stiffened slightly, his ears perking up before the glow exits his eyes and his black sclera fill his whole eye. He then sat down slowly, staring at Ponk as he tilted his head curiously. His mind had shifted to a more creeper-like one.
Ponk furiously nodded as he held out, or rather made a gesture towards, the little pocket notebook he had used to take notes about what he was told, the certain page it was flipped open to being scribbled filled with lemon-themed doodles and stuffed silly with evidence and claims. Specifically, evidence and claims against Dream. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I do know! Dream! While I don't know *how* he got the keycards, there's more than *plenty* of evidence against him!" Ponk claimed, visibly slowing down and pausing when he noticed a change in Sam. He blinked a few times, eyeing him carefully, "Sammy...? Youuuu, uh, okay?"
Sam merely stood up and wandered off numbly, his saddle still resting comfortably on his back as his tail flicked softly. It took him a moment to notice Ponk again, looking back at him before hissing softly. It was a long sound, he didn't even seem to recognize him at first. His memories had been locked off and he couldn't think about anything except to blow up, find something to grief, that sort of thing. This was an uncommon occurrence for him, but it did happen occasionally. It was annoying too, it made it harder to do his job, and he often blew up things that he really shouldn't grief. He could be satiated with a proper blast site, however.
Ponk blinked a few more times and taking a few steps back for his own safety. Ah, it seemed like Sam went into "full creeper-mode" as Ponk liked to call it. He tucked his little notebook away, keeping an eye on the creeper hybrid as he kept his distance while he thought. Right, a blast site would probably help, but where was the nearest one? And how would he manage to bring him there? Wait, he could use gunpowder as a lure; that'd work. The lemon mayor swiftly dug through the things he had on him, pulling out a little container holding gunpowder. "Hey, Sammy, do you want this?" He asked, slowly taking a few steps back in the direction he recalled the nearest blast site to be.
That seemed to instantly catch his attention, moving and trying to go after the gunpowder. He may have enough in his body already, but more couldn't hurt. More gunpowder, better explosion, that was how creepers thought. He wandered after him as he sniffed towards him curiously, subconsciously trying not to let himself get close enough to trigger his explosive reaction. Part of him felt like that'd be dangerous for Ponk, and he didn't want to put Ponk in danger. He knew him subconsciously, but he didn't seem to be able to act on it now. He just hoped Ponk wouldn't try to light him after all. What if he did? He didn't want that, it would make a decent explosion, and would probably blast Ponk as well.
Ponk smiled contently as he patiently and carefully led Sam around the hallways, every so often giving him a little bit of the gunpowder. He didn't want to make it seem like the creeper hybrid was following him for nothing and he was just strictly using the gunpowder as a lure, of course. He forked over what remained inside the container once he successfully led him to the blast site, sitting down and still keeping his distance, not wishing to disturb one of Sam's special places and to be as respectful of it as he possibly could.
Sam instantly climbed into it, beginning to purr as he settled into the cold stone and closed his eyes. He seemed much more comfortable now, quietly letting his tail swish before he looked up at Ponk and pulled his own mask off. His creeper mind didn't exactly understand what it was, and he tilted his head at Ponk in confusion. Part of him was so confused, and he climbed up to the edge as he watched him. "Ssstt..." He hissed softly as he watched him, sitting in a loaf in front of him as he tilted his head quietly. "Ssss..."
Ponk smiled behind his ski mask when he sat in front of him, he himself sitting in a butterfly pose with his feet pressed against each other. "Hey Sammy, are ya feeling better now that you're here?" He asked curiously, well aware he probably wouldn't get a verbal response he actively understood. He didn't mind that fact though, content with just the creeper hybrid's presence alone, continuing to talk regardless. "Blast sites are kinda pretty in their own way. I can see why you like them."
He reached out a hand, letting out a soft hiss as his eyes quietly closed. "Tsst..." He hissed out before booping Ponk's nose, opening his eyes as he seemed pleased. "Tsss...~" He tried to mimic the sound of water on a hot pan, as if trying to compliment him or something. His eyes glimmered as he seemed to smile, soon pulling away from him before looking at his hands. Curiosity filled him as he reached out and took Ponk's mechanical hand, staring at it as he slipped his finger over the curves. "Sssssssst..."
Ponk eyed Sam while he took his mechanical hand, watching him stare at it curiously. He wiggled the fingers on said hand a little bit to prove it functionally worked, just in case that was one of the questions the creeper hybrid theoretically was asking himself. "It's pretty cool, isn't it? Who would have thought I'd become so mecha though, at this rate I'm going to be a transhumaniod before I even realize it." Ponk offered out with a light laugh.
Sam blinked softly as he stared up at him, letting out a soft hiss in seeming confusion about the word he'd used. He then pulled Ponk's hand close to sniff at it, looking down at it before setting it down and standing up. He trotted around him to sniff at him in confusion, plopping down next to him as close as he could without setting his explosive reactions off. He then closed his eyes comfortably, sighing softly as he began to hiss to himself softly. He seemed oddly comfortable, his tail twitching softly.
Ponk contently hummed, pulling his notebook out alongside a sketching pencil. He looked up at Sam, showing him both items for a second before investing his time and energy into sketching the creeper hybrid. He wasn't the best in the world at sketching life-like people, but he also certainly wasn't the worst, glancing at the other a few times to take in his features. He doodled away for a bit, eating up an entire page filled with small sketches of him, eventually becoming satisfied with his work. The lemon mayor then set his doodle-filled notebook down in front of Sam, pushing it closer to him as to invite him to take a look, smiling happily behind his multicoloured ski mask.
Sam stared down at the book before picking it up slowly and looking at the drawings curiously, quietly looking up at Ponk before opening the book to a picture Sam had managed to draw in there without Ponk noticing a while ago. He then slid the book over to Ponk, allowing him to see the drawing as he let out a soft creeper sound, almost seeming sheepish as he smiled softly. Sam wasn't the best at drawing, his hands shaky in most situations except for combat, but he had managed to make a decent drawing of Ponk in there. He'd found some dyes and made it a watercolor painting as well, so the colors were rich and deep. He laid himself down on the ground then, as if trying to tell Ponk that he wasn't a threat. He still *was*, but he was less of one now that he wouldn't immediately aggro on Ponk.
Ponk eyed the book as it was slid back over to him, shifting to pick it up, observing the page it was turned to. He had to stop himself from moving over and smothering him with affectionate kisses and hugs, since Sam's more creeper-like mindset might get confused or even irked with that, but he settled with grinning happily and awwing. "I had no idea you could watercolour this well, Sammy!" He chirped out, admiring and treasuring the page for all the emotional value he personally thought it contained.
He seemed to perk up a bit at the happy tone Ponk adopted, slowly scooting close and putting one of his front paws in his lap before flinching back. When he didn't immediately start to react, he seemed a bit happy, and moved closer to put both of his front paws on Ponk's lap with a soft huff. The slightly more human mindset was slowly moving it's way in, even if it would take a good few hours for it to truly take hold. His tail swayed softly as he hissed softly, still trying to communicate with him. Somehow, he wanted Ponk to understand, but he felt slightly frustrated when no true response came from it. He just wanted to talk to him.
Ponk stared down at the two paws that had found their way into his lap, eyeing them for a moment before gently setting down the book he was holding. Carefully and gently, he flipped one of them over, keeping a watchful eye on Sam to make sure he wasn't doing anything uncomfortable for him. He then gently poked at one of his paw beans, but stopped after just one mere poke, tilting his head as he looked at him. "Can I play with your beans, Sammy? Pleaaaaaseeee?" The lemon mayor asked kindly, giving him pleading and begging puppy eyes to try and get his way. It was just how Ponk was, if he wanted something, he'd plead and beg for it.
Sam watched him poke the beans before his tail twitched and he leaned in, sniffing at him as he tilted his head with a curious hiss. However, he turned his paw over and softly hissed at him, as if telling him it was alright to play with the beans. He was slightly curious about what Ponk wanted, not entirely understanding English at the moment, but knowing that he wanted *something.* Context clues are fun, and he hoped he got it right. After all, Ponk had seemed interested in the paw beans, so he assumed that's what he wanted. His tail lightly patted the ground as he huffed softly, looking at him before leaning in and nuzzling Ponk's cheek lightly, letting out a soft huff afterwards.
Ponk instantly beamed, jumping at the opportunity to gently poke and squish his beans. He used his non-mechanical hand predominantly, not wanting to accidentally squeeze said paw beans between the mechanical joints or push too hard; just because he knew how to use his mecha parts, it didn't mean he was entirely in control of them after all. He happily poked and squished away for a few moments, eventually coming to a sort of contentment with all he had done as he simply rested his hand in Sam's paw. Of course, his hand was tiny compared to it and thus made him feel small himself; which, arguably, was the truth; but for once the lemon mayor was perfectly fine with it. Ponk hummed a quiet tune to himself, slowly letting himself completely relax.
Sam looked up at Ponk from the ground before scooting close and sniffing at him, tilting his head at the smell of lemons. He didn't exactly understand what was going on, but knew that his beans were being squished. It took him a moment, but he stared at him and quickly leaned in to nuzzle his cheek with an affectionate purr. "Mmmsssstt..." He hissed out before moving to curl up around Ponk, his tail twitching as he purred happily. He then laid onto the ground, sighing softly as he remained curled up with Ponk.
Ponk blinked a few times when Sam curled up around him, though he didn't let out a word of discontentment as he comfortably leaned up against him. He brushed his fingers through the creeper hybrids fur, taking great care not to pull at any of it as he always did. The lemon mayor enjoyed simply brushing and petting Sam, finding it about as comforting as doing so to a dog. Speaking of dogs, Ponk made a small mental reminder to visit Fran sometime soon, figuring she probably missed the both of them. He hummed his tune a little louder to himself as he continued to softly pet Sam's fur, said tune, of course, being a Kanye song. One really shouldn't expect otherwise of Ponk, after all; it was Kanye all the way until the end, in his case.
He let out a soft sigh as he closed his eyes comfortably, his tail patting the ground as he put a hand on Ponk's lap. Sam seemed to just crave closeness at this point, his body cuddled up around Ponk's as he sighed happily. "Mmmsssstttt..." He sighed quietly before looking up at Ponk, his eyes suddenly darting to the entrance to the area as he took a soft breath. "...sSSSSTT!" He seemed angry, running up to the entrance and beginning to flash as a warning. It wasn't clear who was there, but they were probably a bit startled by the creeper hybrid's anger as Sam's tail flicked angrily. He was protecting Ponk, oddly enough, and he let out an angry huff as he gritted his teeth. "Tttssssss..."
