Drizzle slowly trotted through the barren desert landscape with Mocchi, his arms full with a good portion of their supplies, clutching onto them tightly as to not let a single thing drop. His boxed head looked over at his friend, eyeing them carefully before redirecting his gaze back ahead. They were essentially gypsies, never staying long in one place before needing to move locations once more. Drizzle didn't mind, he rather enjoyed the active lifestyle himself. Though, there was one thing that made the entire adventure difficult. Or, rather, two things. The first being that the, certainly unique, frosty mutt of who knows how many breeds couldn't say a word, mainly due to being mute, but he did try his best to communicate effectively without speaking. The second being that he almost literally melted under the scorching sun. His frost-covered self was drooping and dripping, which wasn't a very healthy sign. Maybe a trip through a desert wasn't the best idea, especially in the heat of the day. Drizzle soon came to pause as he stared at something. His twin tails poked at Mocchi, trying to gain their attention before flicking towards the buildings in the mirage-y distance. It seemed almost too good to be true. Here they were, walking amongst the searing sand and the scorching sun, and suddenly buildings that seemed to be fit for gods popped up out of nowhere.
Mocchi seemed to perk up a bit before sighing softly, adjusting the things in their arms. "If you're indicating something, dude, I can't see it. Remember?" They pointed to their light blue eyes before sighing softly and adjusting the items again. "So what's going on? Find a place for us to stay and for you to stop melting at?" They asked out, knowing that he would probably be annoyed by the jab and fully expecting some sort of weird response as she moved close. Their eyes closed as they drummed their fingers on their arm in a fidget. They let a soft sigh out before following after Drizzle again, holding onto the other's sleeve as best they could with a soft hum to themselves. "Also...how big is it? Because if it belongs to someone, we need to be able to hide from them."
Drizzle blinked once more, silently asking himself how the hell he forgot that fact. With an extremely silent sigh, he carefully coiled both his tails around their arm. One of the two gently tapped away at them while observing the building. "Well, one, I'm sorry for forgetting that, you know I get all weird in the head when I'm melty. Two, that's kind of rude, but yes, I did find someplace, for your information. Three," He stopped a moment, trying to accurately gauge the size of the building before giving up on rough estimates. "It's large. Like, huge. Roughly Ranboo and Tubbo's mansion kinda large, so there's more than plenty space. It might even be bigger than that mansion, I dunno." Drizzle tapped, his tail resting peacefully against their wrist once he was finished as a signal that he stopped talking.
They laughed softly before sighing out, patting Drizzle's shoulder as they smiled at him. "Don't worry, I'm not upset, I think it's funny sometimes. Let's just go to the buildings before we melt in this damned heat. I hate how I can kind of taste myself in my mouth." They grumbled softly as they adjusted a flower in their hair. They then followed Drizzle as best they could, stumbling every so often on dunes that they had no chance of seeing, hating that but not speaking about it since Drizzle was having issues as is. Besides, it gave them time to think. Who could possibly build things this big consistently? It had taken Mocchi days to fully explore Tubbo and Ranboo's mansion, so god knows how many days it would take them to fully explore this new home.
Drizzle more than eagerly led Mocchi to the overly grand building. Was it a house, possibly? The closer they got, the more it seemed to serve a function and purpose, and less like a decorative building out in the middle of nowhere. At least it was large, he figured, and could serve them well if they stayed properly hidden for long enough. Who knows, maybe they could make this new place their home for longer than they usually did. Going hand in hand with the closer the two got, the more overjoyed and excited Drizzle seemed. One of the tails loosely coiled around Mocchi's wrists had unravelled itself by the time they were standing in front of the 'house'. Cautiously, Drizzle tugged them inside with him, keeping an eye open for anybody within eyesight or earshot, finding and hearing nothing. "This place is actually... Pretty nice... I wish you could see it, I'm sure you'd like it." He tapped gently, "I'll have to map it out for you though, I don't want you roaming around aimlessly... Good thing we have paper that can be indented into easily; you made a nice find on that, by the way."
"I know, I'm pretty great." Mocchi hummed out as they chuckled softly, then followed obediently. Their eyes glimmered a bit as their fingers ghosted along the wall they were walking along together, letting out a soft sigh. "Feels like...sandstone...sand...redstone..." They mumbled out every new block they could feel, letting out a soft sigh every time they felt an expensive gem. They weren't used to people just using gems and gem blocks in casual builds, and she thought that it was a bit of a waste. "Hmmm...hm hm hm..."
Drizzle kept searching for signs of anybody having been there recently, surprised to see little to no signs of anyone other than the occasional rabbit having visited this sanctuary-like place. He let out a quiet huff of air at that fact, his grip on the supplies that he carried loosening up a touch. Hopefully, that meant that they could camp out for longer than usual, he had a feeling Mocchi would prefer if they stayed to one area over the early autumn and through winter. Drizzle glanced back at them, watching as their fingers skimmed over the surface of the walls around the both of them. "Emerald blocks; whoever made this place must have deep pockets to use these materials so casually... Even Tubbo and Ranboo didn't have these back in their mansion..." He tapped slowly whilst he thought. Drizzle didn't say anything else about it, though, as he lead Mocchi to a room he deemed suited to set their stuff up inside. He placed all he was carrying down on the floor, "There's a pile here; about five by six feet in the direct centre of the room. Don't walk into it, it's our stuff." Drizzle informed before quickly sitting down and prying the box off his head. The heat truly did get to him, evidence of such being the ooze that dripped off him, with a texture much like melted ice cream.
Mocchi quietly placed their own items down into the pile once they located it, moving and making their way around the room to press their hands into everything. They felt around everything they could, quietly locating a bed after a moment and smiling softly. "There we go. Here it is..." They mumbled before laying on the bed, sighing out as they relaxed slightly. "Ugh...You doing okay, bud?" They asked softly, knowing they would probably get no decipherable response. Their eyes glowed softly as they continued to be laid out on the bed, seeming pretty exhausted. They had gotten out of quite a few traps alone that day, and they never complained, somehow.
Drizzle huffed once more, running a hand through the tuff of hair he allowed to floof out rather than stay pulled back into a low, short ponytail. His other hand moved to the floor and tapped at it with his unkempt nails, the noise being just loud enough to be properly heard. "I'm melting, what do you think?" He sarcastically questioned with a roll of his eyes, doing his best to keep the melty goop that dripped off of him in one area so that cleanup was easy. Frost creatures really shouldn't be out in the sun, he mentally told himself. "I'll be okay eventually, don't worry about me. Are you fine, though? I know, compared to me, you're not as used to long trips like that one ended up being. Do you want to rest for a little while I set up our things?"
Mocchi slightly glared at nothing before huffing softly, blepping. "You know you gotta sleep too, dumbass." They mumbled out, reaching up to cover their eyes comfortably. However, they quietly fell off into sleep before Drizzle could respond, and seemed comfortable for once. For once, they seemed like they were truly relaxed, even with Drizzle around. They'd known each other for a little while, and their life had gotten better when they'd met Drizzle. Their body was clearly relaxed and slightly firmed up after their wander through the desert, their clothes shifting slightly to droop off of their body comfortably.
Drizzle slowly clawed at the air as he hoisted himself back onto his feet soon after Mocchi had fallen asleep. He walked over, his twin tails flicking softly behind him, and tugged a blanket over their shoulders. He strolled back to the pile of supplies and gear, quietly sorting through it all and respectively putting things where he thought made the most sense to be, feverishly working through his own exhaustion. Drizzle never liked sleeping while Mocchi was; he always insisted someone needed to keep guard over the other and their stuff, which was due to past experiences turning sour as a result of not someone keeping guard. So, instead, he patiently organized their things and snacked away at the little jerky they had left. He'd need to hunt for more meat soon since they were running on low, he noted, but at least they had plenty of berries and assorted nuts to survive off of for a while. Drizzle mapped out the room they were in whilst he waited, carefully carving indents into the thick paper so that they could be easily felt and identifiable.
Mocchi slept for a good while, the colors of the evening deepening until it was almost dark before they woke up and grumbled. "Ugh...who invited the headache? I sure as hell didn't...fuck this...god dammit..." They cursed softly as they smacked the sides of their head, then seemed to try and listen. "Driz, you still here?" They called out, hugging themselves softly and listening for the sound of their companion's tapping. They were patient as they waited, trying their best not to breathe too heavily. Even their own breathing could distract them from the faint noises, so they tried their best to make sure that didn't happen. They needed to communicate, the two of them, and this was the only way how.
Drizzle looked over swiftly at Mocchi and smiled upon seeing them awake, letting out as loud of a huff he could seeing as his hands were full with carving into the paper he held to make a detailed map. He crawled to his feet and walked over to their bed, making sure his feet made a soft scuffing noise against the floor as per usual so Mocchi could locate him. His tail coiled around their wrist after he sat down next to them. "Yeah, I'm still here. Good evening, you slept a bit, are you feeling any better?"
"Good, that's good. Did you rest at all?" They hummed curiously, placing their hand onto Drizzle's knee just to know exactly where he was. They then hummed in thought as they sat with him, taking a soft sniff of the air. "I can smell something, it's kinda...salty? Like...the ocean, but faintly." They seemed a bit curious about the scents surrounding them, and quietly blepped in order to taste it as well. That was something weird they did sometimes, just sticking their tongue out like a tiger trying to get more of a smell in their brain. Nobody knows exactly why she does it, she just does.
Drizzle looked at his friend before his chest softly heaved and shook as if he were laughing. "One, no, I didn't. Two, there's an ocean in the distance, it's just a short walk from this place from what I saw." He responded, booping their nose with his other fluffy-tipped tail. "It'd be a good place to fish, maybe I'll try my luck tonight so we can have sushi for dinner. The gods know we have too much rice to continue to carry around anyways; I might be able to snatch some seaweed too." Drizzle added on, vaguely thinking about what their dinner should be. "Yeah, sushi sounds nice and simple. Would you like to have it too?"
Mocchi huffed at Drizzle before reaching up and using their whole hand to boop Drizzle's face, grumbling softly while pushing him down. "You need your sleep too, dumbass!" They huffed in mock-anger, lightly smacking his face a couple of times before pulling back softly. "Sheesh..." They moved close and put their arms around the ice cream boye in order to stay close to him, seeming more comfortable. Obviously, they were a lot warmer than him, being white hot chocolate, but they weren't hot enough to make him melt. Or...melt enough to be worrisome.
"I can go, like, 52 hours comfortably without sleep Moh, we've been over this a few times before. I might be physically tired, but that doesn't mean I'm sleepy." Drizzle quickly tapped with a playful roll of his eyes and another heave of his chest while he laughed without sound. He stayed to himself when he was hugged, not wanting to get Mocchi uncomfortably frosty or cold and yet so deathly aware of the temperature difference between the two. "I never did get an answer for the sushi idea, by the way. Which's kinda rude if you ask me."
"That doesn't mean you get to not sleep for that long. And I don't mind sushi." They hummed as they remained close with him, seeming to almost purr as they closed their eyes again. They were already sleepy again, and let out a soft grumble as they stuck their tongue out. "...I'm hungry now, Driz. Can I-" They paused mid-sentence, then tried not to let out a soft snicker as they grinned softly. They loved begging kisses from the other this way, but they also knew that it would make Drizzle roll his eyes again. "C-can I have a kiss? Pleaseeeeee?" They begged out before leaning up and nuzzling at him with a happy hum. "Pleaseeeee-"
