Tommy chuckled as he sat beside Purpled, thinking for a moment before shrugging. “Wilbur’s as boring as ever, mostly talks about fighting. It’s boring.” He hummed softly, closing his eyes. “I missed you.”
Purpled eyed Tommy for a second or two as he smiled a touch, laughing to himself as he lightly ran a finger around the rim of his can. "Oh wooooow, is the great Tommyinnit spilling out his emotions to me now? What the treat," He joked with another laugh to himself, referring to the fact that Tommy hardly talked about his emotions.
Tommy sputtered a bit before grumbling, crossing his arms and looking away as his wing moved to cover Purpled's face for a moment. "S-shut up, you bloody idiot!" He cursed softly as he huffed softly. He didn't want to seem 'soft' to others, even if he truly was being soft.
Purpled only laughed harder, shaking his head a few times out of amusement. His antennas were perked upright once more, yet another sign that Tommy had his full attention, which was a rather rare thing to obtain. "Hey jackass, if you don't move your wing I'll pour my Coke aaaaaall over it, so, unless you want sticky feathers, I suggest you let me have my face back." He retorted with a playful fondness in his voice, raising his can as a slight threat.
"⎎⎍☊☍ ⍜⎎⎎!" Tommy huffed at him as he moved his wing off of him. Of course, he thought that the threat was empty, but didn't dare risk sticky or wet feathers. Phil would KILL him if he came home with wet feathers again, he knew that much. He moved closer after a moment, leaning into him with a soft sigh. He wanted to spend all his time with his friend.
Purpled hummed in satisfaction, once again sipping at his sugary drink, "⋏⏃⊑, ⏁⊑⟟⌇ ⟟⌇ ⋔⊬ ⌿⌰⏃☊⟒ ⏃⋏⎅ ⊬⍜⎍'⍀⟒ ⏁⊑⟒ ⍜⋏⟒ ⍙⊑⍜ ⎐⟟⌇⟟⏁⟒⎅, ⌇⍜ ⍙⊑⊬ ⎅⍜⋏'⏁ ⊬⍜⎍?" He offered out in the same sarcastic manner just before Tommy leaned into him, earning him to pause. It wasn't a little pause either, the mercenary genuinely paused as if he were surprised or didn't know what to do, blinking softly as he watched the avian. He didn't say anything, however, going back to sipping his Coke.
Tommy seemed to relax a bit when he leaned against the alien, sighing and closing his eyes a bit as he swallowed softly. He was surprisingly comfortable against the mercenary, feeling more relaxed with Purpled than he has with even his own family. "⋏⏃⊑⊑⊑...⎅⍜⋏'⏁ ⎎⟒⟒⌰ ⌰⟟☍⟒ ⟟⏁...⎅⍜☌☊⊑⏃⋔⌿ ⍙⏃⋏⏁⌇ ⋔⟒ ⏃⍀⍜⎍⋏⎅ ⏁⊑⍜⎍☌⊑." He hummed out.
"⎅⍜☌☊⊑⏃⋔⌿'⌇ ☊⎍⍀⍀⟒⋏⏁⌰⊬ ⌇⌰⟒⟒⌿⟟⋏☌, ⟟ ⊑⏃⎐⟒ ⋏⍜ ⟟⎅⟒⏃ ⍙⊑⏃⏁ ⊬⍜⎍ ⋔⟒⏃⋏." Purpled commented with a soft hum, gesturing with his spare hand to the puppers who was curled up peacefully in front of where they sat on the couch, snoozing the day away. "⟒⌖☊⎍⌇⟒⌇, ⟒⌖☊⎍⌇⟒⌇." He added on with a few soft 'tsk's at the end.
"Shut up." Tommy grumbled softly before hugging Purpled lightly. He hated contact, but he also wanted so much of it. Tubbo was off the chart, he liked contact a bit too much, so he preferred to hug Purpled instead.
"Awe, c'mon, don't be that way, Toms. You know you like hearing my voice." Purpled joked with a mild grin, setting down his now empty can but otherwise staying perfectly still. "So, why'd you decide to pay me a visit now of all times? Oh, wait, let me guess... ⏁⍜ ⌇⏁⟒⏃⌰ ⋔⊬ ⊑⍜⍜⎅⟟⟒⌇ ⍜⋏☊⟒ ⋔⍜⍀⟒?" He inquired as he raised a brow, looking to the Brit for an answer.
He rolled his eyes before hugging the alien tightly, huffing softly. "I missed you, damn it. Can't I come to see you?" He sighed softly as he closed his eyes, tears welling in them a bit before he repressed them harshly, biting down on his lip hard.
Purpled paused like he had done before, the mercenary slightly taken aback at the fact he didn't get a sassy or sarcastic response in return. He eyed Tommy silently with all four of his eyes before allowing two of them to close, letting out a quiet sigh as he thought of how to respond politely. "Hey, don't be like that Toms, you know you're one of the few people I enjoy being around. Though I do wish you could have told me earlier before risking coming into Las Nevadas... We could have met up somewhere at least a little safer..." He muttered out softly.
Tommy hid his face into Purpled slowly as he let out a shaky breath. The recent events had been slightly hard on him, and he was trying to spend time with all of his friends just in case something happened. "..."
Purpled slightly frowned, gently rubbing at the Brit's back as he thought about how to help comfort him. Comfort... His eyes snapped open as he got an idea, delicately prying Tommy off of him as he swiftly stood up. "⍜⋏⟒ ⌇⟒☊⍜⋏⎅," The mercenary said as he walked off to his room and dug through his closet, pulling out one specific hoodie. His comfort hoodie; the softest, cuddliest, highest quality, and best-kept hoodie he owned. He slid back into the living room with it and offered it out to Tommy. Purpled wasn't the best at giving out affection or comfort, not entirely understanding how to with no thanks to his foreign self, but he definitely did try the best he could.
Tommy looked at it before taking it and softly pulling it over his head. Of course, it trapped his wings, but he didn't mind if it meant they were comfortable. It made him smile softly as he looked up at him, a thankful look in his eyes. "Thanks..."
Purpled nodded as a smile appeared on his face once more, seeming to bow his head a little at the end of his nod, which was an old habit of his from who knows where he was from. He kept that information a secret after all. "Of course, do you need anything else?" The mercenary asked, staying standing in front of the other just in case he needed to grab anything else. "Something to eat maybe? I'm not the best cook in the galaxy, but if you're hungry I can cook you something."
Purpled blinked, yet again slightly taken aback. "☊⎍⎅⎅⌰⟒⌇?...?" He repeated, raising a brow in sync with his antennas perking up. The alien had never heard of such a thing, or maybe it was that he didn't remember, but his confused expression stated it clearly. Intrigued, he shifted to sit back down on the couch, his purple eyes watching Tommy carefully.
"Of course, you have my word." Purpled murmured out gently, still unsure as to what 'this' was, but he wasn't going to complain. If anything, he rather enjoyed it for whatever reason, a small smile gracing his features as he closed his eyes and relaxed, allowing Tommy to cuddle up to him.
Purpled only smiled further, his antennae gently flicking upon the sound of chirping and trilling coming from the avian. He opened an eye to look at him, curious as to what the noise was and meant, but quickly assumed that it was just a noise of happiness and contentment, which was an assumption that made himself rather happy. He let out a soft noise similar to that of a cat purring, the only difference being it sounded like it was covered in a static-y sound.
Purpled stayed as he was, purring with static in his throat as he nuzzled the Brit gently a few times, copying the foreign form of affection that he was shown. After a little while, he had a burning question he was itching to ask, so that was exactly what he did. "How long do you plan on staying...?" Purpled inquired as his brows knitted together slightly, a small, audible twang in his voice that mimicked the shakiness of somebody growing emotional. He didn't want Tommy to leave anytime soon, but he knew that they both had their own lives to live; if he was being honest with himself, he didn't like knowing that knowledge.
"⋏⍜, ⋏⍜, ⋏⍜, ⊬⍜⎍'⍀⟒ ⋏⍜⏁ ⟟⋏⏁⍀⎍⎅⟟⋏☌ ⏃⋏⊬⏁⊑⟟⋏☌. ⟟ ⍙⏃⌇ ⟊⎍⌇⏁..." Purpled quickly stated as he shook his head, his voice enveloped lightly with static as he spoke. All four of his eyes looked away, trying to figure out what to add onto his answer. "☊⎍⍀⟟⍜⎍⌇... ⏁⊑⏃⏁'⌇ ⏃⌰⌰." The mercinary said after a quiet moment, offering Tommy a false smile.
Purpled kept his gaze elsewhere, letting it land on anything; anything but Tommy to be exact. "⊬⍜⎍ ⋏⟒⎐⟒⍀ ⊑⏃⎐⟒ ⏁⍜ ⌰⟒⏃⎐⟒..." He murmured softly, just barely above a light whisper, while his antennae drooped sadly, hinting away to what was plaguing his thoughts at the moment.
Purpled grumbled and folded his arms together, letting out a huff. He wasn't going to openly admit his feelings, just about as stubborn as Tommy in that category, fearful he'd get laughed at or, even worse, abandoned and left alone. Though it was bothering him as clear as day, absentmindedly letting white static become what he little he murmured, knowing that Tommy wouldn't understand his native tongue whatsoever, but it brought him some comfort in a weird way.
Purpled looked up at Tommy the second he processed what the other had said, staring at him with a pained expression before looking away once again. He raised his hands up to pull at his own hair, hunching over himself to hide his face, grumbling to himself. "⟟⎎ ⏁⊑⏃⏁'⌇ ⏁⊑⟒ ☊⏃⌇⟒, ⋔⏃⊬⏚⟒ ⟟'⌰⌰ ⋏⟒⎐⟒⍀ ⏁⟒⌰⌰ ⊬⍜⎍.." The mercenary muttered out after a bit, yet again hinting at the fact he didn't want to be left alone.
Tommy realized what that meant, and he moved close to hug him tightly. "I'll never leave you, Purpled..." He whispered softly, closing his eyes with a soft hum out as he sighed. "I'm so sorry..." He mumbled, nuzzling into his best friend's shoulder. "I didn't mean that, you're my best friend."
Purpled tried to hide evermore, pulling his hoodie over his head in an attempt to keep himself from being seen. He didn't want Tommy to worry about his abandonment issues, let alone the fact that tears were pricking the corners of his eyes. "...I thought Tubbo was your best friend," Purpled muttered, letting out a shaky sigh before standing up, keeping his back turned to the Brit. "I'm going to go make something to eat, it's getting around the time for dinner anyway." He stated, walking off to the kitchen; it was just a distraction though, a desperate attempt to ignore his own feelings before he began bawling like a child. No good mercenary would let that willingly happen, he had told himself time and time again.
Tommy stared at Purpled for a moment before shaking his head and sighing as he hugged himself tightly, seeming to wince a bit. He then moved down to the floor to be with DogChamp, tears pricking in his eyes as he let out a soft sniffle. Purpled was more available than Tubbo, and he liked Purpled more, but he wished that he could talk to him more.
Purpled made his way to the kitchen, which was cut off from the living room, thankful for that fact for once. He quietly sang to himself as he prepped for their meal, having the idea that Tommy at least would stay for dinner. The alien paused when he remembered something. He knew how to bake, not actually cook. Well, fuck. Uneasily, Purpled made his way back to the living room, having visibly calmed down from before. "Tommy...? I- I'd really hate to bother you, but I have, uhm, zero ideas as to how to actually cook... I only know how to, heh, bake cookies and shit..." He awkwardly said, gesturing back to the kitchen, his cheeks lightly dusted with purple from embarrassment.
(*cough cough* I can imagine him singing All Of Me by The Score if you need a song for that small moment, just sayin' *cough cough*)
Tommy looked up at him after a moment, letting out a soft chuckle as he stood up and walked into the kitchen. He then began to raid Purpled’s cabinets for the ingredients for a simple casserole, his wings flapping softly as he hummed softly.
Purpled followed closely behind the avian to the kitchen, trying to brush off his embarrassment as if it were nothing, though his purple-dusted cheeks didn't change. He watched him curiously, "You... know how to cook?" The mercenary asked in a soft tone.
"Well...yeah, a lot of people do!" He chuckled and began to quietly put the ingredients together, humming to himself as he made the food gently. Was he happy to do this for him? Yes he was. He let out a soft hum as he looked over at him.
"Wait, wait, wait, how many people are we talking here? Like, majority of the population, or like just the workers in food places...?" Purpled asked, hiding in his hood as his embarrassment grew worse. Why was he getting embarrassed in the first place? He was an alien; was he really expected to know these things? He definitely still had things to learn, that much was clear. Nonetheless, his embarrassment from not knowing ate away at him silently.
Tommy blinked before raising an eyebrow at him, continuing to stir the food together as he hummed lightly. "The majority of the population, Purpled." He hummed out, chuckling and continuing his task. He then poured the food into a glass pan, his eyes glimmering slightly.
Purpled swiftly hung his head, muttering incoherent things under his breath as he groaned. "Majority of the population? Really??" He whined, hopping atop the kitchen counter that was tucked neatly out of the way from Tommy. "I thought it was a rare thing... Like Punz and Puffy and Foolish and Tubbo kinda rare..." He murmured, listing off the few people he knew that could genuinely cook.
Purpled kept his gaze solely on Tommy, his antennae perking up when the casserole was slid into the oven. He narrowed his eyes slightly in a questioning and challenging manner. "Are you 100 percent sure that most of the population here knows how to cook? Or are you pulling my leg for laughs? I've never seen Quackity, Fundy, Slime, Ranboo, or literally anyone else cook before... Most people back home in Hypixel have no clue how to cook either." The mercenary stated, for once saying the name of the place he was from. He didn't notice it either, having grown comfortable around Tommy.
(*small cough* not me suggesting that Hypixel and dsmp are two separate worlds because it makes sense in my head *small cough*)
Tommy stared at him for a moment before shrugging and humming softly. "Most of the world's population does, and-" He was interrupted by a knock at the door, and as he patted off his hands, the sound of someone thudding into the door as if they'd fallen into it. That spurred the avian into action and he ran over to the door swiftly, opening it and watching Tubbo fall back onto the floor with a loud squeak. "Ow!"
Purpled sat up upon hearing a knock at the door, warily eyeing Tommy when he ran to the door, trepidly following him as he slid out a dagger, just to be safe. He never liked answering the door after all. The alien blinked when he saw Tubbo fall onto the floor having not expecting that in the slightest, his brows furrowing together in pure confusion.
Tommy helped Tubbo up as the bee boy sniffled softly and wiped his eyes, looking up at Tommy as he whined. "Mmm..." He whined out as Tommy examined him, reaching up to stroke Tubbo's cheek. "What's wrong, Tubbo?" The avian softly asked, more tears welling in the bee boy's eyes as he sniffled. There was a slightly childish air to him in the way he held himself, like a child trying to defend themself from something or someone.
Purpled eyed Tubbo carefully before sliding past him and Tommy to go outside, holding his dagger close to himself as he scanned the area for a possible attacker. It wasn't every day Tubbo made his way to Purpled's shack, much less on the brink of tears and looking like he was trying to weakly protect himself from something. He grew even more confused when he didn't find much of any threat, making his way back inside and closing the door behind him. "Tubbo, what's wrong?" The alien asked, repeating Tommy's question from earlier.
Tubbo looked at Purpled before sniffling and wiping his eyes, raising his wings and buzzing them quickly as he hid his face into Tommy's shoulder. "Don't wanna be hurt..." He mumbled out, Tommy slowly realizing what's going on before looking at the alien. "He must've shaken them off, but...Tubbo, are you hurt? What happened?" He asked, softer this time as he stroked Tubbo's back gently. The bee boy seemed to sniffle a bit again as he wiped his eyes, whining. "Bad man..."
Purpled's demeanour of confusion swapped over to his mercenary protectiveness, clutching onto his dagger slightly. "He won't hurt you here, Tubbo, I can promise you that." He said as softly as he could, gesturing for the avian and the bee boy to take a seat on the couch whereas he stayed standing. DogChamp even walked towards the two, understanding that Tubbo was upset and most likely needed comfort.
