Being the boss is a tough gig and running a business is no joke. It's a hard job to do but when you know how to do it and you can do it well, you do whatever it takes to keep it afloat. Now, the boss is not the nicest human around and figured if you were below her, you basically didn't exist. She had made the company from the ground up and she was always taught to work hard for what she wanted. She had taken it too far and in the midst of upbringing her company and making it run, she forgot how to live life or see people as actual people and not just replaceable workers for her company. She was a strong woman but she wasn't well liked among the workers below her, but the pay was good enough to keep most people there. Her company was everything to her and made sure to keep a tight running ship, which was not an easy feat. With a ton of applicants trying to work for the boss, the current employees are basically just numbers and if there was any wrong doings among them, she would fire them instantly and without skipping a beat. She had forgotten how to be a human among other humans.
Cole Bennett, however, a young poor boy from the sticks had worked hard his entire life. He never got a company going but he was proud of all the work he had put into his life. He was brought up being taught the same things as the boss but with a little more sugar rather than vinegar. He was a sweet boy who loved to help people out in any aspect of life and made sure his work, while mostly going unnoticed, got him to the places he needed to go. His hard work had landed him a job along side the boss as a secretary. To her, someone to do all the meaningless work that she didn't want to do and fetch her coffee. Someone to schedule appointments and make sure she gets what she needs when she needs it.
Cole didn't mind the job, he liked his co-workers and the pay was pretty decent, especially being the bosses dog. He was well liked among the other co-workers and often questioned as to why he still worked under the boss and how he could stand her. He didn't mind the job and while she was ruthless and strong, he quite enjoyed constantly being on his toes and getting new challenges thrown his direction. He also liked the pay that followed.
The boss wasn't close to her family. She didn't have time for them, but when her mother calls her, requesting she make an appearance for her younger sister's wedding, she refused, not wanting to take any time off from the company and running it. Her mother insisted she come, knowing her sister would be heartbroken if she didn't come and bringing up the fact that she hadn't spoke to the family for a long time since running the company and once again, insists that she come and stay in their home for a week. The boss regretfully accepts, knowing she'd have to figure out who would run the company in her absence. A conversation goes on and eventually leads to the conversation of relationships. Her mother makes fun of her, saying she was too busy for a relationship and the boss, in an angered state of being made fun of, accidentally lies saying she actually had a boyfriend. Her mother insists she bring him, if he were real, and it leads to the boss asking Cole to assist her in going to her family's place for the week.
And that's where the whole thing will start. We can start with her asking him though... just to make the whole thing come together I guess. I wasn't sure how to write the plot out but I knew I wanted to RP with someone. I haven't got much going on lately.
I know it's long but it's basically the plot to the proposal... if you've seen that...
"I just want something to do honestly :P

Now our characters will be PLAYING as boyfriend and girlfriend, they are not instantaneously together.
Cole's body shook awake when the alarm went off. His eyes opened slowly, a hand peeking out from under the blanket to hit the top of the clock. His body slowly pushed up, every muscle tired from the amazing sleep he just had. He would soon miss his bed as he inched himself off of the bed and let his feet hit the floor with a small sigh. His eyes remained half closed as he stood up, wanting to do nothing more than to fall back into the bed and fall asleep again. However, he needed his job so the only thing he could do now was get a good breakfast in him and a strong cup of coffee before he got himself into the office to get yelled at or pushed around by the boss. He liked the job, loved the pay and had a great relationship with his co-workers, but the boss was a bit of a hardass.
Cole pushed himself to the bathroom, stripping himself of his clothes and stepped into the shower, letting the warm water wash over his body to further wake him up. Once he was done, he got out, wrapped a towel around his waist and walked to his closet to pick out his outfit for the day. Miss Thompson liked a pristine outfit, especially since she had to be around Cole for most of the day so he made sure to keep up with his suits and outfits for work, most of them on a completely different level of the closet to make sure they didn't wrinkle or get wrecked by other elements.
Cole dressed himself in a white button down shirt with a pair of black dress pants and a matching jacket, with a tie tightly hanging from his neck. He brushed his hair back, making sure it slicked down with no fly aways and walked to his small kitchen, making a quick and effective meal to start his day off. Once he was done, he put his dishes into the dishwasher and put his jacket onto the crook of his elbow, walking out to his car. He drove down towards the office, making sure to stop off at the small coffee shop nearby and grabbed the boss' coffee and a coffee of his own before finishing the commute to the office.
He walked in, holding the coffee's in his hands and made his way to his own small desk, greeting a few co-workers on the way. Once he reached his desk, he set his own coffee down, put his jacket onto the back of the chair and let out a deep sigh before walking slowly to his boss' office. He knew she'd be in there already as she liked to be there and working before most employees got into work. [+red "Good luck, Bennett."] one of the guys grinned, looking over his shoulder at the boy before looking back at the computer screen. Cole gave a sheepish smile before entering into the young girls office, looking towards her as she was hard at work. "Good morning, Miss Thompson.." the boy started, keeping his voice as low as possible as to not disturb her too much. "Your coffee... and you have a meeting with Mr. Pearson at 3." he commented, stepping back after putting the coffee on the table for her.
When it came time to wake up to get to work she didn't wake up a very happy person due to the phone call the night before. She woke up in a very shity mood which would make her even more bitchy throughout the day. When she got out of bed she got herself ready for the day. After she was dressed for work she locked up her house and drove to work. Once she settled in she got to work. Her mood wasn't getting any better. [center -] Tabitha slammed her fist on the table [+Pink ''Gosh damnit!''] She yelled angrily thinking about the wedding she was forced into going to. Tabitha shook her head slightly before she started to work on a few documents. She hated the fact that she had to go to her sister's stupid wedding anyways. Once again she shook the thoughts out of her head. [i [+pink ''You need to calm yourself down..''] ] she thought to herself. [center -] Tabitha rubbed the back of her neck. [+pink ''Good morning Bennett.''] She said without even looking up at him. [+pink '' Will that be everything for today?''] She asked in a bit of a cold tone. Once the coffee was sat down she picked it up and took a sip of it. [+pink ''Oh there is one thing I need you to do for me.''] Tabitha said in a bitter tone as she looked up at Cole. [+Pink ''You are coming with me to my sister's wedding and posing as my boyfriend.''] She said quickly. [+pink ''No if ands or buts. And don't ask why it is requested off you to do so.''] She said snappily then went back to working on her documents.
Cole looked up from the ground as she spoke to him. Her voice was cold and distant which was something he was accustom to. He kept his hands at his sides, afraid if he moved any other way she'd shout at him. When she asked if it was all for the day, he turned his body slightly to leave. "Yeah, that's all." he spoke before stopping dead in his tracks as she mentioned needing something else from him. He turned his body back towards her, waiting for her to reveal what she needed from him. When she told him what she needed, his mind nearly stopped working. The whole thing sounded insane. "U-uh... W-.." Cole tried to get words out, stopped and thought about it before shaking his head, bringing a hand to his forehead. "Wait.. no what?" he asked. He knew he'd get some backlash from his questioning but he was thoroughly confused. It all happened way to quickly. "M-miss Thompson... I really do want to ask." he commented, moving his fingers together to fiddle with them, something he did when he was a bit nervous.
Usually Cole had a calm demeanor to him but this whole situation caught him off guard and nearly knocked him on his ass. He could ask why him but it made sense... he was the only one who spent the most time with her since he was basically her right hand man but he really wanted to question why he had to go in the first place. "I don't understand why I have to go?" he asked. He was waiting for his ass to get chewed for questioning. "I'm just genuinely curious.." She was already snappy but he absolutely had to wonder why he was being forced to go for his boss' siblings wedding and of all things posing as her boyfriend. "And why your boyfriend?"
Her eyes filled with anger. [+pink ''Excuse me?''] Tabitha stood up and looked at him [+pink ''I do believe I told you not to ask any damn questions about it. But what the fuck do you do? Ask a damn question!!''] She said bitterly. [+pink ''You'll get an explanation soon enough just not right now.''] As she slammed her fist on the desk. The impact made the coffee spill all over everything.[+pink ''Motherfucker.''] She hissed and pointed at Cole [+pink ''You! clean up this mess''] [center -] Tabitha took her papers that weren't damaged along with the laptop off of the desk. That was her breaking point for the day. [+pink ''Get me once the fucking mess is cleaned up.''] Tabitha walked out of the office and slammed the door behind her. She snapped at the workers that had started to look at her wrong. She was going to go work in another area but chose not to. Tabitha just shook her head and turned around heading back into her office where she was more comfortable. [center -] She rolled her eyes [+pink ''aye busboy''] Tabitha said referring to Cole. [+pink ''You come because I say so. Got it?''] She tapped her foot impatiently as the desk was being cleaned off. [+pink ''You're coming as my 'Boyfriend' because I lied to my mother who is overly nosy.''] Tabitha said as she crossed her arms [+pink ''That's all your getting from me.''] her tone was still icy. [+pink ''also after your done get me a new coffee for god's sake!'']
Cole knew from the look in her eye he had crossed a very thin line. Once she shot that look in his direction, he looked down as she began yelling at him, worried if he stared at her, she'd go off even harder. He just listened to her go off before his head snapped up when her fist hit the desk. He watched the cup tip over and pour brown liquid over her desk and spill onto the floor. He breathed out deeply when she rushed passed him, turning his body to the side slightly so she wouldn't bump into him, his heart pounding quickly in his chest. He was used to outbursts.. but something had her go off a little worse than usual. He figured it was this wedding she had brought up. Once he heard the door slam and Tabitha was gone, Cole let out a loud sigh and brought his hand to his face. "Jesus.." he mumbled to himself, placing his other hand to his chest to try and calm his quick beating heart. It felt like it would burst right from his chest at this point. He looked out of the office to see the rest of the floor staring collectively at him with worried looks on their faces. Cole shrugged his shoulders, watching as they all started turning their heads towards their computers to mind their own business.
Cole walked to the desk, grabbing the knocked over coffee cup and picked it up, tossing it into the garbage bin next to the desk and moved towards the closet of the office, grabbing out some paper towel that was stored inside it. He made his way back into the desk, his body finally calming down before the door opened again and the sound of his boss could be heard once more, his heart picking up again. He looked in her direction as she began explaining that he had no choice in the matter and nodded his head. "Alright.." he spoke quietly, hearing her foot tap impatiently as he cleaned her desk off, wiping the expensive wooden surface of it, careful not to get it everywhere else. He knelt down, grabbing more paper towel and cleaned the floor, making sure no spot was left untouched before standing up with the heaping pile of paper towel in his hands. "Yes, Miss Thompson.." Cole said quickly before exiting the office and turned his head over his shoulder to look back at her.
One of his co-workers stepped up towards him, grabbing some of the falling paper towel from his arms and stuffed it into the garbage and shook his head at him. [+red "Jesus... are you ok?"] he asked curiously, placing a hand to the boy's shoulder. Cole looked up at him and exhaled deeply. He wasn't sure how to explain the situation to him at all. It was crazy and weird. "I..uh..." Cole started, staring off into space and blinking a few times. "I guess I have to go to a wedding with her and pretend to be her boyfriend or something.." he spoke quietly, hoping to god Tabitha didn't hear him speaking about it. "It's all really insane.. but she didn't give me much of an explanation." he spoke, keeping his voice just above a whisper now. "Sorry, I've gotta go get her more coffee." he said quickly, pushing passed his co-worker and running out of the office quickly, rushing to the nearby cafe to grab Tabitha another coffee, exactly how she liked it.
Once he returned, he practically ran back into the office, his mind racing a bit as he set the cup back onto the table slowly, looking down at her for a moment. "I'll just be at my desk." Cole spoke quietly, moving out of the office like his ass was on fire.
Once everything was cleaned up Tabitha sat down at her desk. Her eyes shot over to look out the windows to the other offices in the buildings. Tabitha had noticed Cole talking to one of his co-workers but just shrugged it off for the time being. Not really thinking anything of it and what she just told him. She let out a harsh sigh as she fixed up her desk so she could get back to work. [center -] Soon after Tabitha finished her paperwork she heard the door open. [+pink ''What is it?''] she asked without even looking up starting on a new document. Tabitha looked up at Cole as he set the new coffee down on the desk. She muttered what seemed to be a thank you. Tabitha shooed Cole out of her office once he said he was gonna go to his desk. [center -] She rubbed her temples slightly before taking a drink of her coffee. Just thinking about everything made her head pound. Tabitha got up from her desk and walked out of her office and started walking out of the building to her vehicle to grab some medicine for her headache. Once she came back into the building she felt people stare but she glared at them and snapped, [+pink ''What the hell are you looking at?!''] she growled out at them.
Cole sat at his desk, a long sigh escaping his lips. He had to process what he was just asked. He had to go to this wedding with his boss... and act like her boyfriend no less. He was anxious about the request. An entire day pretending to be with her. He wondered if she would be different around her family. Maybe she'd be nicer. He hoped she would be.
Cole rubbed his temples a bit. He couldn't even focus on work. He was being made to spend time with her and he was damn nervous about it. His mind was racing with thoughts of every possible solution. He was snapped out of it when her voice rang through the office floor causing everyone to fall quiet, afraid to even speak.
Cole begrudgingly stood up and walked towards her. He didn't want to talk to her about the whole thing or even at all but he needed to know what to bring, where it was and how long the two would be stuck together. "Miss Thompson. I need some details on this wedding.. like is it for the day? Where is it?"
Tabitha snapped her head his way [+pink ''Shhh!!] she hissed [+pink ''Don't fucking talk about it out here in front of everyone!''] Tabitha growled and grabbed Coles's arm and dragged him into her office. She shut the door behind them and let go of him. Tabitha walked over to her desk and sat on the ledge of it. [center -] [+pink ''The venue is up in Mcall, Idaho.''] She started [+pink ''The actual wedding is in about two weeks. So we need to get plane tickets in advance. And we will be up there for about a week at the most.''] Tabitha said rolling her eyes not too amused with it. She crossed her arms as she looked over at Cole. [+Pink ''Also- just a heads up.. My family is hella unnerving''.] Tabitha said still sounding unamused [center -] [+pink ''Also- for fuck sake don't fucking mention this to anybody. Or you will be in deep fucking shit Bennett.''] Her tone was cold and bitter. She didn't want word to get out about her making Cole pose as her boyfriend for a wedding.[+pink ''Do you have any more questions that you are dying to ask me right this second?''] Tabitha sounded slightly irritated at the moment. She finally stood up walking away from her desk. Tabitha grabbed her coffee and took a drink waiting for Cole to speak.
Cole quickly fell quiet before being yanked into the direction of the boss' office by her. He looked over his shoulder, people staring as he fell away into the glass box with her practically slamming the door behind them. Once they were secured in the office, she began speaking. He watched her sit on the edge of her desk and kept himself as far away from her as possible. Once he heard the fact they would be up in Idaho for a week, his whole body wanted to melt away and into the ground into a puddle. Instant regret for waking up that day set in. "A week?!" Cole asked, putting a hand to his forehead for a second. A whole week with her? He was hoping for maybe a day. That was all he could personally take of her at this point. "A whole week wi- away from work?" he asked, biting at his lower lip and breathed out slowly. He felt his feet moving instantly, pacing around a small space in the office. "Miss Thompson..." he started but for lack of sounding like a 5 year old about to throw a tantrum, Cole breathed in deeply, moving to one of the windows and stared outside for a long moment, thinking over the scenarios playing inside his head. He might end up dead by the end of the week if she'd have it her way.
After a bit of staring out of the window, he finally turned towards her, watching her constantly cold glare. He had no choice in the matter. [i God Dammit] he cursed in his head, clenching a fist and nodding. "A whole week... sounds like fun." Cole said begrudgingly and put a hand to the back of his neck, rubbing at the tensed up muscles. "When do we have to leave?" the boy asked, staring down at the ground. He wasn't sure about this whole thing, but he knew if he wanted to keep his job or even work for anyone ever again that this was his only option. He wasn't getting out of this.
[+pink ''Miss, Thompson what?''] She asked in a cold tone shooting a glare his way [+pink ''Do you have anything to say back to me that you are throwing a tantrum like a small child?''] Her eyes definitely were filled with anger. She stomped up to Cole with her chair so she could be taller than him. [center -] [+pink ''Don't fucking complain about this shit right now. I don't want to go as much as you don't.''] Her arms were crossed as she still stood on the chair. [+pink ''Go on and tell you're true feelings about wanting to go. I don't appreciate you lying to me about it.''] Her tone was still cold and demeaning. [+pink ''We leave Friday of next week.''] she added. [center -] Tabitha sighed as she glanced out the windows of her office to see that they were being stared at once more. She gave them the death glare as she turned her attention back on Bennett. Once again Tabitha was tapping her foot waiting. She had been contemplating on if she should call her mother and just say she can't make it and that's the end of it. But if she did that she knew she would never live it down if she didn't make an appearance. Maybe that was a risk she was going to have to make. Tabitha shook her head shaking that thought away.
Cole looked back at her, his blood boiling a bit as she talked to him like a child. He breathed out slowly, making sure he kept his mouth shut as he usually did. He was good about keeping his mouth closed and his face straight. He kept breathing slowly and carefully but when she told him to express his feelings, he groaned loudly. "I just think it's a weird idea... and a whole week? You want to spend a whole week with me?" He asked. "Because no offense... but spending a whole week with with my boss is kind of.. awkward.. " He muttered.
"But, all things aside. I can tell you aren't happy about the whole thing and neither am I. So let's just go, get it over with, make your family believe you have a boyfriend and get it over with." He sighed a little bit, rubbing the bridge of his nose. He was trying to keep his job at this point and sacrificing a whole week with her seemed to be the only way at least. "I'll be packed and ready to go." He exhaled. He was a little surprised that he had actually talked back a bit to her but now that the moment was over, he went back to his quiet side.
Tabitha let out a slight huff as she got off the chair finally and put it back in his spot. She wasn't in the mood anymore but it's not like she was in the first place... Once she sat back down at her desk she looked at Cole. [+pink ''I need you to get two plane tickets. Both first-class.''] Tabitha told Cole. [+pink ''Ill book the hotels and get the other things in line.''] [center -] She opened her laptop and started to book the hotel. [+pink Oh- one more thing. Get something nice to wear for the wedding.''] Tabitha said looking up at him quickly than looking back at her laptop. [+pink ''You may go to your desk now.''] she says. Once she finished booking everything she had to. She stood up getting ready to go to the break room for lunch. [center -] Tabitha walked out of her office and began to head to the break room. She sighed angrily once she sat in the corner of the break room watching as more people came in to eat lunch as well... Tabitha heard the hushed whispers of the people coming in once she was seen.
(After this should we time skip to when they leave?)
Cole nodded his head and let out a small sigh. At least he could ride first class. He never had gotten to before so he was a little excited for that, but the rest of the trip, he hoped would go smoothly. He walked back to his desk, sitting down and booked their flight.
Cole didn't talk about the trip anymore, not to anyone. Not his closest co-workers or anything. He didn't want people knowing he was stuck with his controlling and cruel boss for an entire week.
The Friday came, and Cole dreaded this day more than anything in the world. He sat at the airport, waiting for Tabitha to arrive as well, bags at his side. Rubbing his temples, Cole waited and worried. He was curious as to her mood today, which would probably be a bad one considering she herself didn't even want to go.
Tabitha woke up in a pretty bad mood as she knew it was time to go somewhere basically by guilt and force. She grumbled as she grabbed her bags and put them in her car. Once she finished getting ready for the trip she got in her car and drove to get some coffee before she drove to the airport. [center -] She growled as her phone started to ring. It was her mother- Tabitha hits the button to pick up. [+pink ''What is it, mother? I'm trying to get to the damn airport''] she said trying not to sound so irritated but it came out that way anyways. Tabitha hung up promptly after. She soon pulled into the parking lot of the airport. Once she parked her car and got her luggage she started heading into the airport after the call with her mother. Tabitha scanned the area looking for Bennett. She soon spotted him and walked over to him well she took a drink of her coffee. [center -] [+pink ''This is new- This time your here earlier than me.''] Tabitha said her tone was slightly less irritated now that she made it to the airport. She took another sip of her coffee and sighed some.
Cole looked over at her as she walked up. Surprisingly her tone less harsh than usual. "Yeah, that's cause we aren't at work." He replied with a small exhale. "You are always early at work." He commented. She liked getting a Jumpstart to her day and he didn't think much of it. He was usually 15 minutes early for his shift just so he could get her her coffee and let her know the days status. He was also worried that if he was late, he'd be fired quickly. On time, to Tabitha, was late. Cole took his job seriously, even if Tabitha was a bit of a witch.
Cole handed Tabitha her plane ticket, walking to his bags and picked a couple up while rolling the suit case. "Alright, let's go." He commented, breathing outwards deeply and moved through the airport. He was just excited for first class at this point but he wouldn't let Tabitha know he was excited.
Tabitha nodded some and took the ticket from him [+pink ''Are you ready to start this shit show?''] she asked him as they walked to board the plane and check in their bags and check-in their carry on's. Tabitha's mood had seemed to be clearing up a bit she didn't seems to be all that bitch at the moment. [center -] After they were let onto the plane Tabitha sighed as she settled into her seat. [+pink ''At least this flight won't be super long. We'll be on and off basically .''] she said before looking out the window. For some reason being in a plane was comforting to Tabitha. When she was younger she had to travel back and forth from Idaho and California because of the split custody her mother and father had. [center -] She just closed her eyes and started to relax before she had to deal with her family. Tabitha opened her eyes and sighed. She rubbed her temples slightly and glance over at cole once more.
Once Cole got onto the flight and was moved to first class, he took time to look around, a smile crossing his lips. He had never been on first class and it was slightly exciting to him. He took his seat next to Tabitha and took another look around. It was far more roomy in first class, not as squishy. He leaned back into the seat and looked over at her as she spoke. "Okay, sounds good." he commented, estimating the time the two would arrive in Idaho. For the first time, he didn't have much of a plan for this trip. He didn't need to as they basically had everything settled before and the rest was just hanging around her family. The two just had to tolerate each other for a week.
Cole looked over at her as she looked at him. "One week." he commented, letting out a small sigh. "Then we can come back and get back to work." he shrugged. One week of not working was almost like a dream, then a nightmare considering he had to spend the entire week with his boss. "Hopefully it'll be over quickly." Cole said quietly, leaning his head onto his hand.
She looked at him instead of just shooting glances his way. [+pink ''Yes- just one week then we go back to work and life goes back to how we know it and yes Indeed it'll be over fairly fast''] Tabitha said sighing some. [+pink 'So when we get there. First things first are we get a car rental then we go to the hotel.''] She says with a slight huff. Tabitha looked forwards and leaned back in her seat she closed her eyes trying to rest once again. After about five minutes Tabitha started to doze off but she kept jumping slightly every time she would fall asleep. [center -] She hadn't really got much sleep the night before hints why she was being a bit nicer than her normal. Tabitha shook her head slightly sat up straight so she wouldn't be so sleepy. She hoped to god that Cole didn't notice how she was at the moment it didn't suit her whatsoever. Tabitha looked out the windows again to keep her mind off of everything that was going to happen in the next week. [center -] She figured once she got off the plane she would have to call her mother and let her know the plane had landed.
Cole looked over at her and nodded his head. "Don't worry about it, I got it all figured out already." he commented. He had booked a car rental after he figured out where they would be landing. He had planned out the accommodations, other than the hotel as she had already taken care of it. Cole looked around a little bit, keeping his mind on other things before he looked over at her as she fell asleep rather quickly. He had figured the trip and the planning had taken a bit out of her, not to mention the nights she probably spent thinking about this whole wedding thing. He watched her jump a little before looking away again, pretending not to notice.
The plane ride was short lived and so was his experience with first class as the plane landed and the crowd filed off the plane. The two were soon in the rental he had sorted out and they were both on their way to the hotel. He wondered what hotel she had booked and how their rooms looked. He barely took any trips and none recently as he was usually piled with work but it was nice to get away from the office for a week. Cole stopped at her choice hotel and got out of the car, grabbing their bags out of the trunk and looked towards the hotel.
Tabitha nodded ''Thank you Bennett'' She said as they got into the car rental. Tabitha stayed quiet as she took in the sights. The hotel Tabitha had reserved a room at had two separate rooms inside of it. [center -] She looked at Cole [+pink ''Oh, Today once we get to the hotel we are leaving to go have lunch with my mother,''] Tabitha said. She pulled out her phone to let her mother know that they made it safely and they were on their way to the hotel. [center -] Tabitha was still unamused that she had to be missing work for this stupid wedding. She shook her head once they pulled up to the hotel. [+pink ''I'm gonna go in and get the key cards for the room''] Tabitha said as she started heading inside the hotel.
Cole looked over at Tabitha with a slightly shocked expression. He knew arguing with her was useless but they were meeting her family so soon. They were barely even settled in and he was DEFINITELY not settled into the role of Tabitha's boyfriend yet. It would take a lot to pull this off and he hoped for a miracle. Cole nodded his head in compliance and let out a soft, inaudible sigh. "Alright." he commented, looking away from her as they made their way to the hotel.
Cole got out of the car, looking towards the hotel and looked back at her as she said she was going to grab the keycards. He let her go, letting out a huff of frustrated air and walked around the car to the trunk to grab their bags out of it. As a bellhop came with a trolley to help him with his bags, Cole helped piling them onto the trolley and followed the young male to the entrance of the hotel to meet up with Tabitha. He supposed it would be a quick get into the hotel room, throw their suitcases in their respective places and run out to meet the family.
Cole wondered how the entire trip would go. He hoped he would be convincing enough for her family to pretend they were together and hopefully they would buy it and lay off of Tabitha's back about whatever it was she was going through. He would try his hardest because he knew if he didn't, he wouldn't hear the end of it.
Tabitha hurried up to the front desk so she could check into the hotel. She fixed her posture as she made it to the desk. The lady at the front desk spoke kindly to Tabbitha as she made it to the desk. [+purple ''Hello Miss. How can I help you?''] the lady had asked. [+pink ''I'm here to check into my room. The name on the card is Tabitha Thompson.''] The lady nodded and got everything in order and gave Tabitha two keycards. [center -] Tabitha thanked the lady and met up with Cole. [+pink ''Bennett!!''] she said raising her voice some to get his attention. [+pink ''I got us checked into the room.''] She said finally getting to where he was. Tabitha was trying to get into a good mood before she had to see her mother. Speaking of her mother was trying to call her again but she just ignored the call once more. She did not want to speak with her mother at the moment she just wanted to get her stuff into the room before she did anything else. [center -] Tabitha left out a soft sigh as she handed Cole his keycard. She wasn't ready to pretend that she actually had a boyfriend. Let alone her secretary.
Cole looked over his shoulder at Tabitha as she called for him. Not uncommon especially when he worked under her. He would hear his last name come from her mouth 10 times a day at the minimum. He walked up to her, reaching out as she handed him his key-card and looked back towards their bags. "I'll bring our bags up." he commented, taking the trolley from the bellhop with a smile before moving to the elevator to drop their bags off in their rooms. Thankfully they had their own rooms so he could at least have some peace and quiet at night. That was at least an upside to this nightmare of a trip.
Cole brought his own bags into his room, sitting himself down on the edge of the bed with a deep sigh. He looked around the room, it was nice. He knew Tabitha wouldn't spare an expense when it came to her accommodations and thankfully it trickled down to him. Standing up again, he unzipped his suitcase and looked around for something to wear. He wasn't sure if it would be a formal occasion or a casual thing. He would have to opt for something in between. He wasn't sure what her family was like, where they stood in their financial status or how they would react to him being there. He knew absolutely nothing as, of course, she wouldn't talk about them in any sense.
Tabitha nodded a bit as she watched him walk into the hotel. She slowly started walking in behind him. Tabitha took a deep breath as she waited for the elevator to come back down. As the elevator door opened she walked inside and took a quick look around inside as the door closed in front of her. [center -] She headed into the room and got her bag then headed off into then went into her separate room that had her bed in it. Tabitha stepped out for a moment [+pink ''Oh yeah Bennett... Dress in semi-formal wear.''] she says as she went back in and shut the door behind her. Tabitha started to dig through her luggage bag trying to find something decent to wear out to dinner. [center - ] Tabitha decided on a shorter white lacy dress with a pair of tights and spandex on. She walked into the bathroom and touched up her makeup. [+pink ''God this sucks...''] Tabitha mumbled as she looked for her extra pair of shoes she had brought.
Cole tilted his head as he heard her say semi-formal. Well that answers that. He rummaged through his luggage, pulling out a black button up with a pair of black jeans. Semi-formal in his opinion. He didn't need a suit and he wouldn't wear a t-shirt and pants, so he settled for this. Moving to the bathroom, he brushed his hair back a bit, letting out a soft sigh before moving away from the bathroom and towards the main room, closing up his suitcase and setting it beside the bed.
Cole was already dreading having to go out and meet her family and put up some front like he was her boyfriend, all he wanted to do was shut himself in his hotel room and keep away from all of this, but he did come along. Not that he had a choice, but he did follow suit. He needed his job and if this was keeping him from getting fired, or possibly murdered, he would go along with it to the best of his abilities. He moved to the door of the hotel room, standing outside of Tabitha's room to wait for her.
Tabitha just got her shoes on and rushed to the bathroom and fumbled wither hair a bit braiding half of it and pinned it to the top of her head. She walked out and looked at Cole. [+pink. ''I'm ready.''] her voice was a more relaxed tone than it normally was. Tabitha knew she had to act somewhat happy around her parents. [center -] She grabbed her purse and key card be before opening the door. She took one more look around the room before walking out. [+pink ''Oh, One thing. Don't talk about work around my mother. She tends to lecture me about it if it is brought up.''] Her normal bossy tone had returned as she walked out the door. Tabitha waited for Cole to walk out behind her. She pulled out her phone to look at the time she let out a slight huff as she put it back in he purse.
Cole watched her step out of the hotel room. He heard a relaxed tone and for a moment it took him by surprise. He'd never heard a tone other than bossy and rude and it almost seemed unnatural to hear her use anything other than that. However, as quick as her relaxed tone came, her bossy tone was back again as she warned him not to speak about work or anything to do with it. "How about, to keep suspicions low.. if anyone asks me about work I just tell them I work somewhere else. Not for you." He suggested. That way, the two could keep their lives separate as if they met organically. "I can say we met... at a coffee shop or something and we hit it off. Makes you seem less workaholic like if you're doing something other than being at the office." Cole shrugged.
The other good thing about the trip was that he wasn't on the clock. He was less worried about speaking now that the two had to pretend to enjoy each others company. He wanted to suggest a few things the two could have potentially been doing to make her family get off he back a little bit. "Of course that's if work is brought up. If not, I wont speak a word about jobs or anything." He commented, raising a hand to rub the back of his neck a little bit.
Cole led her to the rental, pulling the keys from his pocket and got in. Staring the car, he looked towards her with a small sigh. He hoped it went smoothly and he was so curious as to what her family was like. She was so uptight and in control of everything. He hoped her family was different. This whole thing could get a lot worse if her family was anything like her. He wasn't sure if he could handle a lot of bossy people at one time. "So, where to?" he asked, waiting for instructions so the two could get moving.
Tabitha got into the passenger seat of the car. She looked over at Cole [+pink ''We will be going to the cheesecake factory''] Tabitha said. As she texted her mom letting her know she was on the way. [+pink ''I forgot to tell you. My mother's name is Amanda and my father's name is Damion''] she said. [+pink ''But you might want to address them as Mrs. and Mr. Thompson] [center -] [+pink ''We could say that.. It keeps things on the low.''] She says sighing a bit as she picked at her nails. Her family was nothing like her. They were all so kind and polite. Tabitha just had an attitude. Lots of it. She always had the tendency to always overdo it when she was around others. [center -] She looked out the window and sighed. Tabitha took a deep breath [+pink ''I really don't want to go do this... I'm not ready to see my family after all these years.] Tabitha says thinking out loud not realizing that she had.
Cole glanced at her as she mumbled to herself. She was clearly very nervous for this entire ordeal. He was too but for completely different reasons. He stayed quiet for a moment, beginning the drive to the cheesecake factory, an interesting place to meet Tabithas family but he didn't care either way. He just hoped things went smoothly with everything.
Cole let out a soft sigh, tilting his head slightly to the side as he drove. "Everything will be OK. It's just a quick dinner right? Then we can head back to the hotel and go to our rooms and relax for a while." He commented, more or less reassuring himself in the process of trying to reassure her. "If you really can't take it, just let me know and we can leave." He spoke, taking a quick look at her before looking back at the road.
The drive seemed short to him. Shorter than he wanted. He hated admiting it but he knew he felt the same as Tabitha in not wanting to enter the building and pretend like the two were a happy couple. "Let's get it over with." He muttered a bit, unhooked his seat belt and opened the door to the car. He looked toward the building and let out a soft, long sigh, preparing himself for whatever was going to happen inside the building.
She gave a swift nod [+pink ''Yes. It should be just a quick dinner.''] Tabitha told him as he drove. [+pink ''Thank you, Cole..''] She said sighing a bit. It was very rare for Tabitha to say that. She normally did everything that was important by herself. [+pink ''We can only hope this night won't drag on.''] [center -] She took a few deep breaths as they pulled in. Tabitha just shook her head as she took off her seatbelt. She got out of the car and looked at Cole. [+pink ''Let's get this show rolling..''] Tabitha said quickly before seeing her parent wave them in. [+pink ''Well... Here we go''] Tabitha muttered as she rolled her eyes and quickly grabbed Cole's hand a dragged him inside to the table, her family was sitting at. [center -] [+purple ''Tabitha! you've gotten so big!''] her mother said before looking at Cole [+purple ''You must be Tabitha's boyfriend!''] She smiled brightly. Her father stood up and walked towards them [+Green ''Thank you for joining us tonight.''] Her parents seemed a bit energetic almost nothing like Tabaitha.
Cole raised his eyebrows as she thanked him, something he thought he'd never hear in a million years. He kind of soaked it in, letting the words from her mouth ring in his mind a little bit before she grabbed his hand to drag him into the building, pulling him from the happy thought of the praise. He moved inside and followed her to the table, gripping back onto her hand for show. Once the couple reached the table, her parents already greeted them and welcomed them in. He was a bit shocked, picturing a hard faced parental unit when he was met with gentle faces and wholesome demeanors. They were nothing like her and he was a bit taken because of it.
Cole looked down towards her mother and gave her a smile. "Yeah. I'm Cole Bennett." he introduced himself, looking up as her father stood up and approached them. "Thanks for having me." he spoke, letting his politeness take over like he usually did. He was raised in that way and even though he worked for a stone hearted Tabitha, it never made him falter. "It's nice to meet you, Mr and Mrs. Thomson. I'm glad I could be here." he smiled, shaking her parents hands politely. He had to remember he was Tabitha's pretend boyfriend, not just a friend meeting the family randomly. He grabbed Tabitha's chair, pulling it back for her in a gentleman like manner, something he would do for her normally or even a client he was out to lunch with, but he was just lucky it seemed like a cute thing for a boyfriend to do.
She knew she had to play this night off well to get her parents off her back about dating someone. It all seemed to be going pretty well as of right now. She looked at Cole before her parents spoke again. [center -] Tabitha rolled her eyes at how unbearable her parents were being. She hated this more than anything. Tabitha looked at Cole [+pink ''Thanks Ben- I mean babe..''] She said as she cringed at herself for saying it. [i [+pink 'I just want this night to end.'] ] she thought to herself as she glance out the window. [center -] [+Green ''So son, how did you two meet?''] Her father asked Cole. Tabitha shot a look at Cole. She wondered what he was going to say to him. [+purple ''We'd love to know''] her mom butted in. [+pink ''Oh come on you two... It's boring really..''] Tabitha dreaded having this conversation with them. [+purple ''Oh hush you. We won't think that.'']. Tabitha crossed her arms and looked at Cole again. She had that pouty look on her face. The one she got when things didn't go her way
Cole looked down at her as she called him babe. It was a weird thing to be called when he was used to many other names and none so sweet and endearing, even if it was fake. Cole sat himself down next to her, looking between her parents as they asked the story of how the two met. Cole looked over at Tabitha when she made the face she made when she didn't get what she wanted. He was sure he could fudge something up. "Well, we met in a coffee shop. It was later in the day, she was sitting at a table drinking her coffee and I came in. I accidentally bumped into the back of her chair and spilled her coffee on the table. I helped clean her stuff up and offered to buy her another one. I thought she was gorgeous so I asked if I could sit with her. We talked for what seemed like the entire night and became friends then soon after that we started dating." he lied. He didn't want to bring up work in any sense of the word if he didn't have to. He tried to steer it away from that. He knew her mom would be pressing for it if he mentioned it so he had to keep the conversation away from it.
Cole looked over at her and watched her face for a moment. "Thank god I'm a klutz." the male chuckled a little before looking between her parents again, hoping they were satisfied with his answer. "I'm also really glad I made the first move. I wasn't about to leave without at least trying to talk to her." the male smiled.
[+purple ''Awww, how cute!''] Her mom said. Tabitha just rolled her eyes at her mother's remark. She still wasn't happy about the fact they had to come up with a story. Tabitha let out a slight huff. [+pink ''All I can say is I'm glad he came into my life.''] she said. Tabitha tapped her fingers on the table out of stress and anxiety. [+green ''So, Cole. What do you do for work?''] Her father asked him. Tabitha shot a look at Cole. [+pink ''How about we now talk about that..''] Tabitha said quickly. But she was shut down by her father who had a bit of the [i 'A lady must not speak unless spoken to'] mentality. Tabitha bit her lip and tried not to show she was upset. She looked away from Cole so he couldn't see her tear-filled eyes. [center -] The waiter came up to them just in time. [+Red ''Hello, ill be your waiter today. Can I get you anything to drink or are you ready to order?''] The waiter asked. Tabitha looked over and ordered along with her parents. The waiter waited for Cole to order his food.
Cole looked towards her parents, a smile planted on his face as the two bought the story he had quickly mustered up for them. At least they were convinced, that was all that mattered. Cole looked up at her father when he asked the question of what he did for work. He had to think of something rather quickly. When Tabitha cut in and was quickly shot down, Cole looked towards her, seeing the upset look that dawned on her face now and the sunken body language that he was sure he'd never see in his entire life. The big boss lady was shut down quickly by her father and acted like a puppy with her tail between her legs.
Cole cleared his throat a bit, looking towards the waiter as he came up to take their orders. It seemed like a blessing in disguise now that the tense moment between Tabitha and her parents had passed over for the moment so the table could collectively order. Cole looked over the menu quickly, picking a meal quickly and handed off his menu to the waiter. He took another quick look towards Tabitha and watched her closely before looking back at her parents. "Uhm.. I actually work down the street from Tabitha.. we found out. I'm a dental assistant.. I make decent money. I've got my own place and I get to stay close by her." Cole lied, feeling the words slip right from his mouth so smoothly and effortlessly. He was happy he planned a few things out in his head before he got to the dinner, but of course he wanted to get off the subject of himself and Tabitha.
"So... a wedding, huh? That's exciting. Did you guys have to do a lot of planning for it?" he asked curiously. He was hoping to keep their minds on something other than the two of them and knew Tabitha would want all questions of of her anyway. He was playing her boyfriend, but he still felt like he was a servant to her, keeping her protected and happy.
Her parents ordered. Tabitha let out a small sigh of relief as the subject was changed. She didn't order anything as she had lost her appetite. Her father nodded [+green ''Yes, Our youngest daughter is getting married. We really thought it would be Tabitha would be the first to get married.''] He said. [+purple ''There was tons of planning. There still are a few things we need to do but that's about it. Oh, Tabby ''] her mom started. [+purple ''We need to go and get you fitted for your maid of honor dress.''] [center -] Tabitha's eyes widened. She quickly regained her composer [+pink ''Why was I picked for that role''] Tabitha hated the fact this was thrown on her last minute. She glanced over at Cole. Her eyes seemed to have darkened a bit. She gave him the 'i don't want to be here anymore look.' [center -] [+purple ''Your sister was the one who picked you.''] Her mother said in a demeaning voice. Tabitha started to pick at her nails as they started talking about the wedding. [+purple ''Besides... If we told you earlier. We know you wouldn't have come.''] Tabitha's eyes twitched. [+pink ''You cant just spring that on me!''] tabitha raised her voice. She was almost yelling at this point. Her father slammed his fists on the table. [+green ''You will not talk tou your mother that way.'']
Cole looked over at Tabitha as she gave him the look indicating she wanted to leave. He looked over at her parents then looked back at Tabitha as they began getting a bit louder while they argued. Cole looked down quickly as her father slammed his fists on the table, clearing his throat nervously while people turned their heads to look at the group. Cole looked back up and looked around the restaurant, watching eyes move towards them while the family fought.
Cole was used to the loud talking from Tabitha and the outbursts, but hearing it from her father, he really got an idea of where her attitude came from. He still, for some reason, couldn't help but feel a little bit bad for Tabitha as her father demanded respect from her towards her mother. Cole looked back up, regaining himself a bit before looking back at Tabitha.[i Think Cole...think about how to get out..] he thought before clearing his throat again. "Perhaps... we should head back to the hotel and settle in a bit more... we've been pretty busy up until now and we know with the wedding we will be pretty busy getting everything ready, not to mention you two probably have a lot of things to do as well?" Cole asked, trying to keep the respect for her parents there while trying his best to save Tabitha from any more outbursts. "I'm sorry we couldn't stay longer... and it was really nice to meet you.." Cole commented. He knew her parents probably thought because of the outburst, the two were scrambling to get out, and it was true... but also, he knew Tabitha wanted no more of this.
She clenched her fists as her father yelled at her. Tabitha gave a quiet sigh of relief as she looked at Cole. She looked at her parents who seemed relieved as well. [+pink [i 'Glad to see they don't care..'] ] she thought to herself. Her father stood up to shake Coles's hand once more. [+green ''Enjoy the rest of your evening.''] her father said. [center -] Tabitha sighed as she stood up and pushed her chair in. She sighed as she reached for Coles's hand to keep up the act until they left the restaurant. She tried to look away from her parents. Her mother came up and hugged Cole [+purple ''Keep her safe.''] she said. Tabitha rolled her eyes [+pink ''Mom..''] she said slightly annoyed. [center -] Her father eyed her angrily. Tabitha took a deep breath. She hurried out the door of the restaurant without saying goodbye to her parents. Tabitha waited by the car because she forgot to take the keys from Cole. [center -] Tabitha was sulking to herself as she waited. [+purple ''This is why I didn't want to be here..''] she muttered to herself. Tabitha looked at the exit of the restaurant and tapped her foot as she waited fo Cole to come out.
Cole stood up with Tabitha, gripping her father's hand before giving it a shake to say goodbye. "Yeah, you too." He replied. He held onto Tabitha's hand as she grabbed his, practically dragging him from the restaurant. He was happy he could help her get out of here before more arguing ensued.
Cole looked down at her mother as she hugged him, giving her a hug back before looking over at Tabitha as she waltzed out rather quickly. "Alright.. I will. Thank you again." He spoke, letting the woman go before stepping out of the restaurant. The two could finally drop the fake lovers act.
He stepped up to the car and let out a deep breath. He saw Tabitha's face, impatient and annoyed like her usual self. He unlocked the door for her and walked to it, getting into the drivers side and place a hand to the back of his head. He wanted to say something but fear of being yelled at or hit held him back. He was just excited to get back to the hotel and be in his own room. He needed a drink, that was for sure. Then he figured Tabitha would want the same thing. "The hotel has a nice bar, I noticed. You seem like you need a drink and I sure as hell do." He commented, turning his head to look over at her.
[+purple ''Of course!''] Tabitha's mom yelled out as she watched him leave the restaurant to catch back up to Tabitha. [center -] Tabitha took a deep breath [+pink ''A drink sounds lovely.. But only one drink''] she said her tone seemed to be softer than normal. She was just drained from the stress her parents put on her. [+pink ''When we get back into town we do not speak of what happened to anyone at the office.''] She said quietly. [center -] Tabitha put her buckle on and sat back in her seat. She glanced over at Cole and took a deep breath. [+pink ''We only have a few days left of this stupid trip.''] Tabitha said in a softer tone than normal. She looked out the car window and closed her eyes for a bit. [center -] [+pink ''How long do you think it'll take to get back to the hotel?''] She asked as she opened her eyes and looked back over at him. Tabitha was tired which was when she tended to be a bit sweeter than normal.
As she mentioned not speaking about any of this to the office, he nodded his head in agreement . "Wouldn't dream of it." he commented back, letting out a deep sigh to expel some pent up tension from the adventures of the day so far. He looked over at her as she stared back at him, her expression and tone soft now from being tired. "I'll make sure to get there quickly. Once we are back, we can have a drink.. relax a bit and head to our rooms to unwind." he assured her. She, he was sure, had the exact same plan. He looked back over to her and bit at his lower lip. "Sorry that was such a...disaster.." he commented, knowing no other term would really do it. "This wasn't the most promising day.. but at least we don't have to be here long. After a bit, we will be back in the office continuing with our lives." he breathed out, waiting to somewhat reassure her.. He wasn't too sure what to say anymore.
Cole got them back to the hotel and parked the car in the large parkinglot. He looked over at her and opened the door. "Let's go get that drink." he spoke, finally cracking a smile. Whether she would stay after one drink, he was planning on having a couple to unwind himself. He hadn't ever been drunk drunk, but he did at least want to have a few to calm the nerves.
Cole walked from the car, moving to the entrance of the hotel with her and moved to the small, low lit bar that was off to the side. It was a pretty nice, spacious lounge area.. a good place to relax. "What do you want? My treat?" Cole asked, moving his hands together in anticipation. A cold beer hitting his throat was exactly what he needed.
She just sighed and ran her fingers through her hair as she looked at him. [+pink ''It's whatever... just know on the day of the wedding shits going to be way worse.'' ] Tabitha planned on unwinding as much as she could. She stepped out of the car when her door was opened. Tabitha bit her lip slightly and shut the door behind her. [Center -] She took a deep breath and headed for the hotel entrance. Tabitha sat next to Cole [+pink ''I think ill go with some vodka''] She said her tone was slightly back to normal. She let out an annoyed sigh as she looked around. [+pink ''can I just skip this stupid wedding?''] Tabitha asked Cole [+pink ''Sure I'm the maid of honor but my sister has friends that can fill my spot.''] [center -] Once the drinks were ordered Tabitha immediately started to drink her drink. Her worries started to melt away after the first few drinks. She set her drink down and rubbed her eyes slightly. [+pink ''Thank you for even coming with me.''] Tabitha as she glanced over at Cole. [center -] She picked up her drink again and started sipping off of it again. Her thoughts seemed to be rushing through her mind the more she would drink. But at this point she didn't really even care.
Cole looked towards her as she spoke, a laugh escaping him as he contemplated telling her that they could just leave and go back to their normal lives. Then again, what would have been the point of all of this if he did that? They flew all the way out here so they might as well suck it up and get it over with. "Sorry.. We have to stay" he replied back to her, grabbing the glass in front of him and took a sip of the drink he bought.
Cole leaned himself against the bar table, his elbows resting against it while the glass was trapped in between his hands. His eyes watched the ice as they sat there quietly. When she thanked him for coming with her, his brown eyes looked up to meet hers. "You're welcome." he smiled, tilting his head slightly to the side at her tone. She was far sweeter here than at work. He wondered if maybe a weekend away from work was just the right thing for her...even if she didn't want to be here.
"Maybe it's a good thing to get away from work and all the crap at home?" he shrugged. "I know you don't necessarily want to be here..but a weekend away from work..all those worries.. maybe just treat this like a vacation? Without the wedding part of course. Just relax.. do what you want to do. Let loose." Cole smiled, sitting up straight again. That's what they needed. Let loose and just have some fun. He did wonder if "fun" was in her vocabulary though. He just couldn't picture Tabitha letting her hair down.
She crossed her arms and pouted a bit [+pink ''Fine- fine.. ill stay for this damn wedding.''] Tabitha said. She took another drink of her drink. Tabitha bit her lip slightly as she listened to what he had to say. [+pink ''You really think this is what I needed? Dealing with my parents? I think I'm better off at home and at the office.''] She was scared to be herself but it was hard for her to let loose. [center -] [+pink ''Well... I have my dress fitting tomorrow... Then maybe we can go find something to do..''] Tabitha waited for his response to what she had said. As she waited she finished her drink. [+pink ''I think I need another drink..''] She told him her tone had a hint of laughter in it. Tabitha tried to push past the fear of trying to let loose. She took a quick glance around the area they were in. [center -] Tabitha started to order another drink and sighed a bit. [+pink ''Oh, Bennett.. can you come with me to the dress fitting? I really don't want to be alone with my sister and my mom..''] She asked as she took a sip of her new drink.
Cole looked up as she spoke about how she was better at the office. She was a nutcase at the office. This was the best he'd seen her so far. "I don't mean the wedding.. I mean just being away from all the bustle of the office." he laughed a little bit. Cole was seeing a different side of her. Once he knew he'd never see at the office. It was frightening and fascinating all at once. "I mean away from all the wedding responsibilities and the parents and such... just being in a hotel in a different place.. doesn't it feel kind of nice?" Cole questioned. He liked being away from where he lived. It made him feel like he was on vacation anytime he went somewhere else.. no matter what it was. He barely went on business trips and while this one was the closes to one, he was still thinking on the brighter side. He didn't have to be stuck in the office. He was still taking some orders from her though, so it wasn't like it was all sunshine and rainbows.
Cole finished off his beer as she finished off her drink, looking down at the bottle in front of him and pushed it to the side. "Another drink wont hurt." he agreed, giving her a slight smile as he, too, ordered another drink. Something a bit stronger this time. He was ready to shake off the energy of the day. "It's nice to... let loose, huh? Let your hair down." he grinned a bit. He leaned back against the chair he sat in and let out a long deep breath, letting the bad emotions completely out.
At her mention the dress fitting tomorrow, he looked over at her and tilted his head slightly to the side. "Uh.. yeah sure." he shrugged. He figured he might as well meet her sister and help keep Tabitha in line.. why not. "Yeah I'll go. Sounds like it'll be interesting." he laughed a bit. He was feeling a lot less stressed out around her than he was at the office.
Tabitha rolled her eyes. [+Pink ''I guess it's nice to get away from the big city.''] She said to him. Tabitha watched as he ordered another drink as well. This is the first time Tabitha had ever really drunk alcohol in a while. She never used to be this stuck up either. She just changed after she started her own business.[+pink ''You wanna know something?''] she asked as she looked at him. [+pink ''I actually use to be super crazy and loosey-goosey''] Tabitha said as she smiled a little bit
Tabitha took another sip of her drink and looked around again. [+pink ''You know you don't have to come with me to the dress fitting if you don't want to.''] She wanted him to at least have a little bit of fun during this trip. Tabitha started to get a bit tipsy which she tried to hide from Cole not wanting him to ask or say anything about it. he went to take another sip of her drink but instead knocked the glass over causing it to spill all over herself. [+pink ''Shit!''] she grumbled and stood up. [+pink ''I'm going back to the room.''] She quickly headed for the elevators. Tabitha felt so embarrassed about it all.
Cole gave a small smile as she mentioned she had used to be a lot more fun. He shook his head and leaned back a bit in the chair he was sitting in. "No offense but it's a little hard to imagine.." he commented. He hated saying it but it was true. There was no scenario in his head that put her in a fun tone. She was always so dark and gloomy and cranky. He figured being the big boss of your own company might do that to someone.. especially a woman as a boss in this world. You had to be tough and hardheaded just to have a thick skin in a world full of stuck up, asshole men.
Cole looked up, watching her accidentally spill the drink she had in front of her all over herself and without skipping a beat, her tone went right back to being dark. "Oh, hey.. wait." Cole spoke, trying to get her to stop for a second but as quick as she stood up, she was in the elevator. A small sigh escaped him as he slumped a little bit. He was sure he was just starting to crack that tough shell. He looked up as the bartender began to clean the spot she was sitting at, leaning forward and placing his elbow on the table in front of him, then his chin in his hand. "Sorry about that." he commented to the guy cleaning the spot. He finished off his own drink before pushing away from the table and leaving the bar to head up to his room for the night. He had hoped he got a bit more time talking to Tabitha, but figured there was still plenty of time left for that.
Tabitha had never been one to cry over something as stupid as a split drink but as soon as she made it to the room tears started to stream down her face. She sat in front of the door so no one could come in to check on her. Tabitha stayed in the wet clothes being too upset to change out of them. She pulled out her phone and texted Cole. [I ''don't bother coming on checking on me.'] Tabitha had sent it then stood up throwing her phone on the bed and going into the bathroom to take a bath.
Once she started it she sighed and locked the bathroom door and got into the tub. Tabitha closed her eyes and relaxed a bit before getting out a little bit later. She went and put pajamas on which was a large hoddie and a pair of long spandex. Tabitha rubbed her eyes as she laid down on the bed. After she laid down she almost instantly went to bed.
Cole looked down at his phone as he felt the vibration from the text message. Reading it over, he walked into his room. As much as he wanted to make sure Tabitha was OK, he had to respect that she was probably pretty embarrassed by the entire accident. He sighed and looked over the text a few times.
