The Curse of the Aquatic Fiend
Vaan, Tidus, Bartz, Firion and a few other Final Fantasy characters were called upon during the eve of the summer solstice for one important reason. A particularly nasty aquatic fiend was threatening to kill everyone at the beach and was demanding sacrifices. Everyone who has fought the beasts prior ended up dead or missing. Frantic to stop the chain of sacrifice, these people called upon some of the heroes of Final Fantasy to dispatch this threat. They were told that the fiend could be lured out with a sacrifice which led the group to question just who would be the sacrifice. It was ultimately decided that in the end, Tidus would pose as the sacrifice. In response to this, Tidus was quickly dressed in sacrificial robes and walked out to the ocean. As expected, the fiend had appeared to collect their sacrifice. The Final Fantasy heroes struck just when the fiend was about to carry off their sacrifice. Unfortunately, the monster proved to be too powerful even for them and they were quickly defeated. The fiend took all of them and fled into it’s underwater lair which was in reality, a large castle. The Final Fantasy boys that had been taken were quickly thrown into underwater cages. A spell had been cast on them prior to make sure that they could breathe underwater while a ritual to turn the group into merfolk was being prepared. Tidus was the first one to be brought to the ritual site. He was shackled down onto the table where the sacrifice would be restrained to. There was a ceremonial dagger made from a special coral that when combined with a certain enchantment, would turn whoever was stabbed in the heart with it into a merperson. As if he knew what was about to happen to him, Tidus tried to get away. However, his attempts were unsuccessful as the dagger was plunged into his chest. It had pierced his heart which caused him to fall unconscious. The enchantment of the dagger quickly started to work it’s magic as Tidus’s legs had transformed into a cerulean tail. He was quickly unchained from the table and was then brought into another room. He had been inflicted with the aquatic fiend’s curse and now couldn’t leave the castle less he suffer the rage of said fiend. Everyone else who had survived this ritual also suffered the same fate hence why it was called a curse.
