Bartz was on his way to school. He was often the kind of person who was nice to everyone unconditionally. He even once deterred a bully from picking on him. He was actually determined to make it on time.

Yuki walked out the door tightening the bandages on his right hand, he then noticed Bartz walking down the street and decided to walk with him
Bartz was often silent and didnβt say anything. He tapped his foot once when he stopped.

Bartz only said the word βDecentβ. His weekend was anything but decent.

when they got to school Yuki waved goodbye to Bartz and went to his class
Bartz ended up following Yuki. He didnβt want to be left alone for some reason. He also didnβt wear an outfit that blended in. He was fond of his current outfit anyway.

Yuki went to his class and sat down at a table listening to the teacher, he was toying with his butterfly knife and drew a soul on his paper
Bartz had sat down next to Yuki. He stayed silent so that he wouldnβt be noticed.

when school was over Yuki tightened his bandages and went to sparring practice, most of the kids would use their souls but Yuki only had his bare strength, that's what he used
Bartz was playing around with a small fireball that he had created. He had followed Yuki however he didnβt engage in any battles.

Yuki grabbed a katana and blocked every flame his opponent threw at him, "you ready for me," he said getting into a running stance

Yuki stood up and turned into a blur when he got face to face with his opponent a gust of wind blew towards them, "do you want to keep going," Yuki asked with a smile, as the kid shook his head no
βIβm not really one for combat...β Bartz muttered softly.

"i know," Yuki said with a smile as he walked out of the building reading his book on the formation of souls
Bartz had continued to follow Yuki. He couldnβt bring himself to tell him about what his parents had told him about why he was different than other kids since he thought that he actually wouldnβt understand him anyway.

"hey Bartz you ever wonder if the humans are going to attack the monsters again," Yuki asked
βI donβt know... I also want to tell you something. For some reason, my soul is red.β Bartz said. I was wondering if there are other people like me.β He would say.

Yuki took a look at his book, "oh yeah, sorry, I got it mixed up," he said with a smile while walking
βWell, I heard that there are seven souls that are unique like that.β Bartz said.

"really," he said, "I heard there were a lot more, like for instance in my book there is a soul that is multicolored, one of the rarest, it represents leadership, apparently anyone who has it is able to use all soul abilities, how cool is that," he said
Someone immediately came to Bartzβs mind. He had immediately thought about someone that he had known for a long time.

βWhat look?β Bartz asked Yuki. He was thinking about Tidus and Ramza and if they were going to be okay.
