At ten, Sylus' mother sold him off to a company secretly experimenting on humans, to pay off her depts. He lives at a facility, along with many others as lab rats. If they survive the experimentation, they become soldiers for the company.
Throughout the years he's only noticed one person that could come in and out of the facility as she chooses. Aralyn is normally quiet, kind and he gets acquainted with her as she always gave him some of her food or got him stuff that weren't normally stocked in the facility. Then Sylus discovers Aralyn is the one that kills them if they fall out of line, and getting too comfortable with her will hit some nerves up there, being that she's the daughter of the company owner.

She rolled around her queen sized bed and hugged her pillow in. It was nothing... Just them fighting again. She let her mind indulge back into a dream. Her new obsession was being able to have wings like a butterfly. They were a bright vivid blue and with those wings, there wasn't anywhere in the world that she couldn't go. Over a nice lake-until those wings snapped along with a loud bang bouncing of the walls. Ara gasped and opened her eyes, staring at the wall across from her. What was that? ]] [Cabin [center She slowly pulled off her bed sheets and peered down her dark room. Her fingers gripped tightly into her bed. "[b Dad! Mom! ]" She shouted out. The door twisted and opened. Ara froze up until she saw her dad there, filling his expression with sorrow. He came up to her and wrapped his arms around the six year old as she tried to peak through his shoulder seeing a glimpse of her mom laying on the floor. He covered her view even more. "[i I'm sorry... I'm sorry,]" He spoke quietly, holding in tightly, "[i A bad man came in. ]"]]
[Cabin [center There were constant boys and girls, some her age, younger, older coming in to this company that her dad explained to her. It was to develop humanity, to help sick people. These people were volunteering but had second thoughts. That's what he told her but she was picking up. Picking up way too quickly that none of these people wanted to be here and the more days that passed, weeks, months and years, it came through to her the bad man, was her dad. She end up talking to some of the kids, and visiting now and then when her dad went to the facility.]] [Cabin [center There were two different facilities she knew. The first was the experimenting stage... That place always give her chills. They had small sterile rooms for people. It's where all the new comers came in. If they went through the testing, experimenting stage, and came out strong they'd go into the other facility. It was bigger, better, and there, they were trained to become fighters, soldiers for her dad and the government in gratitude for modifying them to be better than the normal human. ]] [Cabin [center Right now, she was visiting the first facility. All the facility's were underground. She held her dad's hand while they were walking down the hall. He was talking to some old bald man. Ara wasn't paying any attention to what they were saying. It was boring grown up stuff, stuff that she didn't want to know. Even if she hated what they were saying? What could she do? Her mom tried... And it made her stiff when she thought about what if she didn't agree to any of what her dad was doing. What would happen to her? She kept her eyes on the ground as they walked. ]] [Cabin [center "[i I'm curious. "[b No. ]" The two men started talking to each other again. Dad wasn't paying attention to her anymore either. He told he kept her around for safety. So that he always had an eye out on her. Aralyn's eyes then directed to two people pushing some boy that appeared her age in a stretcher, and towards a different room. Ara knew the process. Every person that came in was knocked out or nearly knocked out and then put into a room, let for rest, let the shock wear off and then began testing. They wasted no time. When her dad released her hand simply because he was talking with his hands now, she decided to follow where they were taking the boy. Once the guard and nurse put him in the room, they left the room. She sneaked right in when their backs were turned. She closed the door.]] [Cabin [center It was a tiny room, very tiny room. A shitty room that she didn't think any human being could live in. Not even her pet dog would live in this room. She stared at the boy on the bed, leaning right up at the edge and tilted her head, seeing his black hair. He was really knocked out. Maybe she wouldn't get to talk to him, or maybe he would wake up before her dad noticed her gone. She always disappeared like this anyway. So much for keeping her close to keep her safe. She rolled her eyes , and watched the boy. He did look her age. ]] [Cabin [center Aralyn ran her fingers through her long brown hair. It was neat, and she was wearing a really nice lacy white dress her bodyguard bought for her. She really liked it. She sighed and poked his arm. "[b Are you alive? ]" She whispered and frowned, "[b Can you hear me? ]" He didn't look too good. She went into her purse that was hung over her shoulder and went through it and found one of her strawberry lollipops and put it beside me. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Just in case you don't wake up before I have to go. The rest, were with people that were losing their mind and her dad send her off to calm them because apparently a little cute kid normally calmed a person down. Sometimes... But she never got hurt. Normally she convinced them things were going to be okay, but she didn't know what experimenting really was. ]] [Cabin [center "[b I'm Aralyn. ]" She muttered and then heard her dad's voice get closer by. Her eyes widened, wandering if he would notice she was gone yet. She didn't want to go yet. This place was the only chance she had to talk to other people. She was home schooled after all. ]]
It was cold. The room felt empty, the window left open and the cold fall breeze crept into the small space the young boy called his home. He was lying in bed, his door slightly open and he could see a faint glow of light at the end of the hall. That was definitely his mother. She was probably working hard again because she had two jobs. She was a waitress by day and at night she stayed on her laptop, selling these things in bags. Sylus had no idea where she got them from or what they were, but sometimes he'd see her eating it or putting it up her nose. He didnt understand why she had to work so much, but mommy would always tell him, [i You dont need anyone Sylus. You can always do everything yourself. People are only there to ruin you]
That was the philosophy he's went by ever since until the years past and things grew worse. His mother had divorced his dad when he was five and as a result, she hired a lawyer to help her out. She wanted to claim what was rightfully hers, but Sylus' father refused to give him or their child anything. The man took it all away. Their house was gone, the cars were gone, all that remained were mom's hard work and an old apartment building they stayed in now, just trying to get by. He could tell from his mother's face that life was hard. Their lawyer had betrayed them and ended up taking all of his mother's savings without trying to stop his father at all. Greed took him over and they found out later, he was working for her ex's brother. The bastards took it all from them, and took it all from his mother.
Over the course of the next few months, Sylus noticed his mother's change in attitude and behavior. She began ignoring him, searching up ways online to make more money, working her two jobs and just having no time for him at all. She called him a disgusting piece of filth that was just left here to taunt and remind her of what happened. Apparently he looked similar to his father and people always told his mother that. That must have irritated her to get to the point where she gave up on him the night of his birthday.
It was seven at night, Sylus had just woke up from a nap, rubbing his tired eyes as he walked into the kitchen like he always did, looking for something to eat. [b [#7401DF "Mama? It's my birthday. Can we eat cake?"]] he pulled himself onto one of the chairs and sat at the table, seeing his mother looking stressed out, her hands moving through her messy hair as she looked over at him. [+red "Oh your birthday. I have a gift for you Sylus. Im going to take you somewhere fun okay? But we've got to go now or we'll be late"] she stood up and held his hand as she led him towards her car.
They soon drove and arrived just outside of a fenced in gate, entering and then being led by two guards into the recruiting area. Sylus was really excited to see where she was talking her. When he stepped out to see other kids around him, standing in a line, he blinked curiously. [+red "We're going to line up and get your present okay?"] she told him, waiting until it was his turn. The guards took Sylus in past the secondary gates and then they looked at him physically. They checked his eyes, nose, mouth, heart rate, blood pressure, and then his pulse. He was then stamped on the arm with a number. [i 17] he wondered what that meant?
He walked inside, looking back at the window, seeing one of the guards placing a numerous amount of bills into her hands. His mother had a smile on her lips and then she looked at the window, seeing Sylus as she waved and then headed out the door. Was she supposed to leave? Wasnt she going to show him the surprise? Sylus stayed at the glass until someone pulled him back into the line. They inched their way forward deeper into the facility as a man injected something into their arms. Sylus cried in pain, feeling the syringe stab him so suddenly. He then began running around the room until he eventually passed out onto the ground suddenly.
THe guards came in and placed him onto the stretcher and then they hurried to take him into another room, leaving him and locking the doors so they could monitor the new recruit. Sylus was passed out in the venter of the room when a girl came in. He was knocked out for a while until he felt her prodding his arm. Sylus shot awake and looked around the room quickly, his eyes adjusting to the sight of her in front of him. His eyes focused on a little girl. She looked like someone around his age.
Sylus opened his pale eyes and just looked up at her curiously. He didnt remember what happened, or why he was in that room. He tried shifting around in bed, but he couldnt. His body wouldnt react when he wanted it to, wondering what the hell was wrong with him. When he opened his mouth to speak, it came out audible and he could at least understand what he's saying [b [#7401DF "Im Sylus"]] he gulped, following her voice as he looked over at the lollipop beside his bed. [b [#7401DF "Thanks"]] he was able to mumble softly, but that was all he could say when he saw some guards coming into the room with a tall man with brown hair.
Sylus just tried to move his arm, managing to hide the lollipop beneath his arm until he could get away. He didnt know where he was, what surprise his mother had, or who this girl was? He felt afraid being all alone and he didnt know why his body just couldnt move.
Sylus peeked down at Aralyn and then he tried to lift a smile so that she'd take it as a thanks. He was then taken away from her room and led into a different room further down the hall. WHen he entered inside, they strapped down his arms and legs to the stretcher and then he saw a male working there. On the table besides his desks were different sized syringe and bottles. The male had thick glasses, a bowl cut and was tall and thin. He faced Sylus and taped his mouth shut. [+red "We're going to see if you're capable to join the others little guy. Get ready. We're going to be injecting a few things, so just relax and try to keep still"] he told Sylus as the boy stared at him confused.
[+blue "Is this my surprise mommy wanted me to have?"] he wondered, closing his eyes as he thought about what it could be. He didnt know where he was, what he was doing here, or what all of those needles were for, but he was just waiting for his mom's gift for his birthday. Little did he knew, he had already been sold to a a human experimental institution.

He didn't look too good but she tried to hold up a smile because she knew two sad people wouldn't make anyone happy. She smiled a little more when she saw him smile back at her. The men had came in, and it clogged her throat up because she was very unaware of what was going to happen to him. What they were really doing. ]]
[Cabin [center As she grew she became more aware of everything and felt a new threat looming over her. A threat that meant she had to contribute into her father's work or she would contribute in being a test subject as well. One time she gave Sylus her Nintendo 3ds. ]]
[Cabin [center The bed sheets felt rough against her skin. A florescent light was making it through her eyelids and waking her up from her sleep. She slept at the girl's side of the second facility for the night. She's been doing that a lot lately. ]] [Cabin [center She rose up from the bed and head into the bathroom, just cleaning herself off before the doors unlocked and the other girls were allowed out to wash themselves and go the cafeteria to eat. The guys and girl's were separated, they only mixed for breakfast, lunch and training once a month or every two weeks. It's probably why the guys would stare at Ara like a piece of meat when she wandered in and out whenever she wandered in their side for the whole day. But, none of them would touch her. Only because there were a bunch of guys there that knew her since she was a kid and would protect her. ]] [Cabin [center Ara wore a long sleeved black dress, that was comfortable and casual. She fixed her hair and smiled at her own reflection. She was really good at holding up a smile even if she didn't want to. Everyone was in a room of four people, unless they were violent, then they roomed by themselves. ]]
[Cabin [center She hid her blade underneath her sleeve and watched herself change expressions back and forth in the mirror. If she didn't have to smile, she wouldn't smile at all. She got out the bathroom and saw the girl's just come right in. Ari stepped out and went out of the girl's sleeping quarters and into the boy's cafeteria. There were a lot of security points in between. They all let her through the cold hallway until two doors opened up to the cafeteria. It was huge. The whole facility was huge-and underground. Once she made it in, she saw some getting food for breakfast. She just strolled in and smiled sweetly some of the guys she knew, and then she caught eye of Collin. That always seemed to work, and she was wishing it wouldn't because then they would be alive instead of dead. She didn't want to kill them. She didn't want to see anyone die but unless she wanted a death wish herself, she didn't have much of a choice. ]] [Cabin [center "[i Sure. I'm going to be sneaking out here soon anyway. ]" He whispered back, "[i What to leave? We can see how the real world is like. ]" You'll never get to see it. She wanted to say. The feeling of a chill crawled up the boys spine as he laid on the bed, just waiting for his surprise. His mother did say that he would be waiting in line for his gift, but he's been in this room for what seemed like forever. He didnt know what was going to happen, but the young boy was still betting on a surprise and maybe his mother would bring him cake! That was his favorite part of birthdays.
When the thin male stepped inside and had him strapped down, Sylus just kept his eyes closed, waiting to hear him say surprise or to say his mother was waiting. Instead, he opened his eyes to take a peek and he saw the man wearing gloves and filling up a syringe with some liquid. Sylus' eyes opened and stared blankly at where he was putting it. He struggled to move from the bed, but when the man injected it into his arm, he yelped in pain, closing his eyes and shuddering as the next few injections took place after. He was left in the room for the rest of the night to be alone. Then one night turned into three, from three to a month. He was always by himself in that room with nothing to wait for but food and training.
They would only allow him out to eat or when they had training they'd let him go around. HE never saw his mother again and as the years progressed, he realized she was never coming back. He learned that this was institution for making elite soldiers and if he passed, then maybe he could escape this place. The only hope he had left were the words his mother always told him. If he could get through this training and if he could survive all of the chemical manipulations being done to his body, he'd become an elite and then maybe he could leave and find his mother. HE wanted to know why she did this to him...why did she leave him all alone the day he turned seven. He wanted answers.
Every year was exactly the same. The same events, the same training, the same injections, the same people. He had grown used to the environment and even managed to make friends. Ever since he was a boy, Aralyn would always visit him and give him good food, warmer clothes, and even some of he toys. They were talk and play together sometimes and he remembered that she was the first person he ever met at this place. Her kindness was able to help him get through a lot of things and that lollipop she gave him the first day, he still hasnt eaten. He saved it as his proof that kindness existed in this world. He even still had her 3ds in his room that he would play.
Now at the age of twenty, Sylus was more than capable of handling himself in this place. He knew exactly what they were after and people always plotted to escape. His roommate Collin had been planning this for months now and today he was going to execute it himself. He had always tried to convince Sylus to escape with him, but Sylus knew there was no escape. There were no news of anyone ever getting out and he knew it had something to do with their system. The only escape he saw was making it through the tests and he planned to become one of the elite soldiers. Maybe he had a chance to kill the mastermind behind all of this and escape.
The young man soon got out of bed, heading for a shower and then dressing up in the usual clothes they had given him. Sometimes he'd wear the clothes Aralyn got him, but he never wore those on training days. Those clothes were on the nicer looking side. He wore a black shirt and the training pants they had given him. Sylus then fixed his hair down and headed towards the cafeteria to eat.
He grabbed a tray of food and saw Collin sitting and eating not to far off. Heading over, her took a seat and just began eating without another word. [+blue "Ah there you are my man. Looking gloomy as always. Today might be the last day I see ya"] he smirked and patted his shoulder as Sylus continued eating. [b [#7401DF "Well there's nothing special about today. We've just got training. Gotta get the new injections. Nothing new. Nothing to be happy about"]] he spoke as Collin remembered what he needed to do. [+blue "Oh ya. Aralyn wanted to see you. Um...she's over there"] he pointed across the cafeteria and then he leaned into Sylus with a smirk [+blue "I might be getting some from her today before I leave. How lucky am I. A real girl too!"] he told Sylus and he just stared up at him, not believing it at all. He knew there was something special about Ara and no matter what happened, no one was able to get that close. She was the only girl to come and go as she pleased and they all knew that there was a different area for girls...she was probably important.
Sylus grabbed his tray and stood up, walking towards Ara as he kept his eyes low on his food. He wasnt a happy person at all. He was mostly always down or angry. He hated this place and the world. He hated his mother for what she did to him and he just wanted to break free. To find something else worth living for besides just becoming a soldier.
He took a seat at her table and then he set the tray down and faced her. His faded bronze eyes met her blue ones and he tried to lift up a smile like he usually did. [b [#7401DF "Hey. What's up? Collin said you needed to see me before training.um....the food you gave me last night was delicious...thanks again"]] he told her, knowing that he was able to taste something different because of her. He owed he a lot actually all do to her kindness.
Sylus looked around, seeing the eyes on her and he knew what the guys wanted. They always fantasized about her, how she was the only girl they really saw. Some wanted to kidnap her, other's wanted brutal things and it grossed him out sometimes. Luckily she was untouchable here. He wasnt exactly sure why since she never told him, but it was good to know she was safe coming into the men's ward.

"[b You look like you've all never seen me before.]" Some of them haven't up close and personal. She looked around the cafeteria, accidently wanting to find Sylus but really wanted to just avoid him f for a few days. After all...she did just kill his roommate. But if he came up to her than she had no choice but to talk to him. ]]
It was just another day, another chance to fight, to show one's skill, to survive through the physical training and to get a new dose of injections. Sylus wasnt excited about this one bit and meeting up with Collin at lunch proved that. His roommate was a very chilled guy. He always went with the flow, but his idea of breaking out seemed really close thanks to his persuasion. Collin was great at talking, great at swaying people, and good looking. HIs blonde hair would have swooned any girl out there if this was a normal training camp, but no. The guys here all grew up into becoming soldiers and the only girl they'd really seen was her.
The cafeteria was packed, but there were tables that were reserved for certain groups and Sylus usually just ate with his roommates. Now that he was sitting before him, he continued to look around, see those familiar faces around and then noticing that a few of the people he used to see missing made Sylus know that something was going on. Where could they have gone? HE didnt know if there was an escape or not, but they had watched the people who tried to escape and they havent returned at all. Sometimes Sylus would say that maybe the security was so tight that the people that tried only got themselves caught, but who knows what happened to them.
SItting at the table in front of Ara was comforting because she really was one of the nicest people here. He made it here without going crazy, thanks to her. If it werent for her clothes, her special food, and her toys, he would have felt lonely, which he still did feel, but not as much. For some reason, he felt special. LIke maybe she was only doing this for him. For him and him only. That thought would always make him feel somewhat better when his day felt horrible. That's why seeing her right now managed to put even a small smile on his lips.
[#7401DF "Thanks Ara. I'm glad you're here. I dont mind if you have lunch with me"] he placed the sandwich aside, planning to eat it later because he knew that this glob called food was already boring. It was always the same ever since he was seven years old. His mind drifted back to the day his mother called his name to head out for his birthday surprise. He could hear her calling and he was so excited.....his mind drifted back when he heard Ara say his name. His eyes looked into hers and he nodded, placing the other headphone in and listening. Her music always sound so beautiful. HE's never really heard anything like it before. It was peaceful and it calmed him down.
His eyes looked over her, watching her lips go with the music, her pretty teal eyes just glancing off elsewhere and that smile on her face when she was surrounded by hungry men. How'd she do it? He didnt now, but he admired her for it. [#7401DF "Im not going anywhere. Collin is crazy for even thinking he can"] he told her, looking as the guard called them for training. Sylus was about to get up when he felt something warm on his cheek. He glanced ove and noticed Ara's lips touching his skin. His eyes averted and then he took in a deep breath as he watched her hurry off. Sylus just stood there a little stunned as he reached up to touch his cheek. It felt so warm, kind....almost filled with love.
He smiled to himself and then headed out the doors to follow the guards. Training was intense as usual. They ran almost ten miles, Sylus near the back half of the group panting and trying to catch his breath. It was always difficult for him keep up, but he somehow managed. He was doing fine on the weight training, and he did great on combat. He put down most of his opponents. But during training, he couldnt help but think about COllin and Ara. Were they really going to be together? For some reason he didnt want that. He didnt want her to be with his roommate and he didnt want Collin getting special treatment.
He headed back to his dorm and showered, changing into some shorts and another black shirt. He walked towards the men's cafeteria, holding her sandwich in his hands as he looked around to find a seat. There was no sign of Collin at all. He hasnt seen him at training nor back a his room. Maybe he had escaped? One of the guards had approached him down the hall, saying that Collin will no longer be his roommate. He had failed the test and was sent to leave this place.
Sylus didnt believe him. He knew what Collin was planning. He knew that he was going to escape today...that he was going to escape....with Ara? Maybe she knew where he went? His roommate may have been annoying and a pain sometimes, but Sylus had grown comfortable being around the guy. He understood him and still wanted to hang around and make jokes with him.
Sylus searched around the cafeteria for Ara, seeing her sitting with a group of guys. He walked over and approached them, looking at the group surrounding her. Deep down her didnt like it...but he needed to talk to her. [#7401DF "Ara, can I talk to you for a bit?"] he asked, almost whispering as his eyes tried to focus on her and not on the guys obviously just staring at him with disbelief. As if a shrimp like this could get her to leave them. Ara was pretty and all the guys wanted her attention.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center Even a slight smile from him was enough to know that she made it even only a bit easier to withstand. Originally, she was supposed to be kind, manipulate them for the sake of gaining trust so that it would be easier to remove them if they fell out of line. But she didn't have it in her to do it for those reasons. Her reasons of being kind to them is for owing it to them for what her family is doing, to stop them wanting to leave so that they wouldn't have to die. The best chance out of here was 'graduating' and then being sent off to whoever wanted to hire them for protection. Sure, there was no real freedom but it was better than being trapped within these walls. ]] [Cabin [center There were plenty of people she chatted with, gave stuff to around here. To the girl's side, and to the guy's side. She was about friendly with everyone but sometimes she didn't get to all of them. She normally tried to direct her energy to people who she thought would leave, but it didn't seem like Sylus was plotting anything and she just enjoyed his company. She ate and let him listen to music, and when she finished she sang along quietly. She's grown accustomed to her surroundings. She knew there was no use in being miserable of something she had no control over. She lifted her eyes and dreaded to ask him that question. She felt a relief that he wouldn't try to go. ]] [Cabin [center "[b I would try to convince him not to yet...but he seems stubborn. ] It's why she wasn't attempting to convince him not to. He wouldn't listen. He would attempt it anyway and she had to get her job done if that's so. When she was saying goodbye to Sylus, she hadn't meant to kiss his cheek. She's kissed other guy's cheeks before and she stopped doing that because it lead them on and that's not want she wanted. She would never be with anyone in this facility. Sylus was just a good friend that she cared about. ]] [Cabin [center The trigger had become easier to pull. Plunging a dagger never was. When she tried combat, she couldn't bare the feeling of striking someone else. Guns was more detached to the kill than anything else. She was a sharp shooter, she could use a sniper really well. She was more than capable to train someone too. ]] [Cabin [center Lunch came around and she sat down beside Nico and his friends. She'd give it a few days before she would go around Sylus, maybe a week. Him and his roommates and Collin's friends. She smiled and talked to some of the guys, some of the things they were saying were inappropriate but she just redirected it, and Nico told them to shut the hell up. Ara lifted her eyes up seeing Sylus, and held up her expression. She smiled and gave a nod, "[b Yea. ]" She got up and took his hand. She directed him towards a quieter spot in the cafeteria and faced him. She was hoping to hell that he wasn't going to ask about Collin but that was the only thing he could talk to her about. ]] [Cabin [center "[b What do you want to talk about? I'm all ears...and oh, how was training? Not too hard on you was it? ]" She asked and she went into her bag again over her shoulder, wanting to grab something but then noticed that she hadn't checked her little bag properly. There was just a bit of blood at the edge. She zipped her bag and tried to cover it with her hand and looked back at him, deciding to completely listen and hoped he would never notice that little bloody spot. ]]
He couldnt help but try to smile around Ara because she was always there. She was always helping him out, making sure he was okay, and watching his back since the first time he came to the institution. She's been here longer than he has and because of her, he was still here hoping to graduate so he could escape this place, even if he does turn into a mutated monster. This place was like a prison and there were times when people would gossip. No one really knew who was in charge or why they were doing this. They just knew that if they passed, they were considered strong and could have all they wanted. At least that's what's been going around.
During training, Sylus was still thinking about that kiss. He wasnt sure what that meant at all. Was she just being nice? Was that a show of affection? He didnt understand, but he managed to get through the day until it was time for lunch. As he walked into the cafeteria, he was stunned to hear that Collin wasnt coming back anymore. Why wasnt he coming back? Did they catch him? If they caught him what would happen? THey would get punished wouldnt they? Was the punishment death? Sylus had all these questions in his mind, but he did know the last person that COllin went to meet up with and that was Ara.
So as he approached her table, he noticed the looks the guys were giving him. IT looked like he was trying to take the only girl from their table all for himself, but Ara was just a close friend of his. His expression lifted when she said she'd talk and then he held her hand, following her towards an empty area as he looked down at her [#7401DF "Training was okay. TIring as usual. All of these injections every week are making my body feel weird too, but Im alright. I needed to ask you something.....it's about Collin. Do you know where he is?"] he wondered, looking over to see her grabbing something from her bag. He noticed there was a bit of blood at the edge and he wondered what that was. Why did she have blood on her bag?
Sylus watched her covering it up and he knew it must have been from someone....what did she do? [#7401DF "He said that he was meeting up with you"] he told her, his eyes moving back to meet hers, feeling a little off now. What was this strange sensation he was feeling. It felt wrong...
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center There was no use to be kind to them, she knew that it wouldn't make a too much of a difference. They were stuck here. They were stuck being tested and if they managed to live, their life would be subjected to more fights to survive. And if they fell out of line, if they failed to keep up or slacked off, then she was the one that had to handle it. If she didn't do it, she knew what would happen. Sylus had kept up, never had any real threat of escaping and so she never had to deal with him. She's grown up with him and stayed with him the longest. Anyone she's met at his age when she was younger died. Everyone else she knew was normally older now, and had left to whatever her dad sent them off to. There were younger kids that she met too. Sylus was someone that she felt the closest to out of them. She didn't mean to kiss him, because she knew it just wouldn't happen. ]] [Cabin [center It was clear that she could avoid him. She could say no, she was busy or she needed to leave but that would only bring more suspicion and she didn't want that. She pulled on a smile and kept her regular personality on with him. She couldn't constantly spend time with him either because she knew these guys were vicious and they would bug him if she singled him. ]] [Cabin [center They went into a quieter spot and listened. "[b Well keep working on training and I'm sure you'll graduate. If you do really good...maybe we can still see each other. ]" She wanted him to stick around her. And if wasn't higher than standards they'd never even consider him as working as security detail for her. "[b Remember, if those injections are giving you real bad symptoms, go back and tell them. They're starting to make antidotes in case your body can't take it. ] Finally... She had to put her foot down for that to happen. It took a lot of talking, and convincing and hell. She managed to convince her dad that he lost millions of dollars killing one person. ]] [Cabin [center Ara followed along with his question about Collin. I'm sorry Sylus... ]" While her hand was going into her bag she picked up where he was looking at he. He saw. He definitely saw. She looked back at him and heard him speak. It wasn't a question, it was a statement. She uncovered the blood. "Ah... I got hurt before. It looks like some of it wiped off my bag," She bit her lip and gave a nod, "[b Yea. He was. I wanted to try to convince him out of it. But the guard saw us and made me leave. ]" She stared down at the ground and inhaled a deep breath and stepped forward, and hugged him. "[b I'm sorry... But she wasn't going to lie to anyone about that. ]] [Cabin [center She backed up and gave a sad smile, "[b Do you want to eat with me again?" ]" She asked, and then saw someone come up to her, one of Collin's friends. She tried to get up and felt her heart beat pound against her chest. Ara was getting up again, trying to gain her composure. She inhaled a deep breath and tried to get up and knew help would be here, and they'd help her out of here. ]]
There was no happiness around here and Sylus knew that. The only happiness he would ever find from being here was to be able to graduate as a soldier and then leave and be lucky enough that his boss was nice enough to let him outside to explore. Maybe then he could try and figure something out. Run away to another country, change his identity so no one would find him. All he wanted was to live his life normally and maybe try and find his mother. Everything had been a train wreck since his seventh birthday and all he could really do right now was just get past each test...live past each day and hope those injections didnt kill him.
Ara was always there. She was there since he was seven, since he last saw his mother and she'd always come by and take care of him. He knew that she was kind at heart and ever since then he's been thankful. When his roommates brought her up, he kept quiet because he didnt like the way they talked about her. Why would anyone want to do that to someone as kind as her?
He followed her to an empty area of the cafeteria and felt relief when she said that they could still see each other if she worked hard. He did want to see her still, but he didnt now what would happen when he graduated. [#7401DF "Will you still be here? Or do you want to leave?"] he asked, before getting to the question about Collin. He didnt know what he was expecting her to say, but when she said he got caught, it was no surprise to him. He felt bad because he was warming up to COllin and did see him as a good friend. He didnt know what he was going to do now that one of his roommates was gone.
Sylus' eyes saw the blood on her bag, but when she tried to say she got hurt, he just decided to believe her. He didnt know if she's lied to him before, but Ara was always nice to him. Her arms around him surprised him as he felt her hang on. Sylus just felt down, but it did give him some comfort. [#7401DF "It's not your fault Ara. He tried to escape. I had a feeling they killed the ones that tried"] he frowned, just staying still because his friend had just died. He died and no one really knew....how or why.
Sylus saw Collin's friend walk over, but the minute he saw him slam Ara up against the wall, he hurried to try and stop him. [#7401DF "Hey! Leave her alone Eric!"] he got in between them and then he reached down and helped her up onto her feet. [#7401DF "Ara are you alright?"] he turned back around to face Eric. [#7401DF "she didnt do anything. She just tried to stop him from escaping"] he told Eric, but Eric looked furious. [i "That bitch does it to everyone. She acts all nice, gives us clothes and food to get close...and then she probably turned Collin in!"] he hissed and Sylus looked a bit shocked. She's been giving clothes and food to everyone? Not just him? He stayed in between them and looked up at Eric [#7401DF "She didnt do anything. Collin got caught. That was it"] he told Eric. The tall male just narrowed his eyes at Ara and stopped when he saw the rush of guards coming in to stop them.
He just glanced back at Syrus [i "SHe's nothing but trouble. I feel it and IM not falling for it like Collin did"] he told him before walking off back to his table. Sylus looked up at the guards as they rushed over, seeing Sylus by Ara. They tazed him and Sylus fell to the ground, his body spazzing as he tried to get a grip. [b "Get down boy. Leave the girl alone if you dont want to be kicked out of here''] the guard told him as they pinned Sylus still to the ground.

And that chip had a time limit, if they weren't checked in every week, the kill switch would activate and kill them again. But she knew the safest jobs to have, to have more freedom. There were a very extreme few that got out. One of them was her old bodyguard when she was a child. She didn't know how they did it, because even without the chip it was near to impossible. No one really had a clue about what happened after they were able to graduate. All they knew was that they'd be working for some top organization to defend people, but they didnt know they'd still be monitored with a kill switch. That was a horrible thought and if they were trapped like that in the outside world, what was the point of even becoming a guard when your freedom was stripped away from you like that. Trying to escape would have been the best option if it wasnt so damn impossible. Still, Sylus wasnt going to try and escape. He wanted to graduate, he wanted to complete something that he could be proud of. Maybe if he was a full fledged guard, he could save someone important and be on the news. That would teach his mother to abandon him again. He was definitely worth something and he belonged in this world. He wanted to prove that she should have kept him than sell him here.
Sylus spoke with Ara about the future and just staying in this facility. He wondered why he'd see her less, but at least she was still here. [#7401DF "Less and less? Where will you be going?"] he wondered, hoping that she was able to get out of here if she could. He could sense something odd about this place and he felt it everyday. His friends disappeared, he didnt know what happened to them. All he would ever hear were the guards saying that they were caught, now they were being punished, while he did nothing like a coward and just tried to live his life without breaking the rules.
Everyday he's seen those guys come and go and ever since then, he hasnt seen anyone that's been a recruit since the day he came. THey were mostly gone or graduated. Sylus continued talking to her and wondered why she couldnt leave. He always thought she could do whatever she wanted [#7401DF "Why cant you Ara?"] he asked, knowing that she seemed like she had the most freedom compared to everyone else. It was clear she was going to give special to the institute and he was just another experiment.
He held her in his arms and then he could feel her trembling a little. He wasnt going to try to escape, especially not now after what happened to his roommate. [#7401DF "I wont try to leave. I want to graduate. That I can promise you"] he hesitantly reached up, letting his hands rub her back until he saw Eric harming her. What in the world was he doing to Ara!
Sylus was completely pissed off. He had to hurry in there to stop the fight, blocking Eric from getting any closer to Ara. He did his best to defend her and managed to get Eric to leave, but it stunned him to hear that she gave food and clothes to other patients. He really did believe she only was nice like this to him. It was very disappointing to hear, but at least it wasnt so bad. It still helped him. He just wished Ara was doing this for him and him only. He liked being special to someone.
When Eric left, he sighed in relief, seeing the guards and not expecting to be tazed to the ground. Sylus was shocked and then he blacked out. The guards pinned him down, but when Ara spoke and pulled them off, managing to get his roommates to help bring him back to their room.
As he laid in bed, he was out cold. Sylus' roommates were there, looking at Ara closely. She looked very attractive and now that they got a chance to see a girl for real, they wanted to see more of her. [i "ILl stay and look after Sylus too. Clyde, you go get us a table and something to eat. Ill meet you there"] one of the other roommates said as he took a seat beside Ara. His eyes were clearly on her hair, her face, her chest, and her behind, but he didnt do anything. [i "Dang I dont know why they tazed him? Was he trying to take advantage of you too?"] he asked and then noticed that Sylus was beginning to wake after an hour.
His eyes opened and looked up at the two, trying to move, but his body seemed disconnected. IT was like the signal just wasnt working and he couldnt really move anymore. What was he supposed to do? Sylus watched the two and then he managed to speak a little [#7401DF "What happened....Ara, Are you alright?"] he asked to make sure no one hurt her. THe more he sat up to think, the more he was beginning to gain the feeling back in his body.
[#7401DF "Did they catch Eric?"] he wondered, thinking that if he was still just out there in the prison. He didnt want Ara to get hurt again. [#7401DF "Im fine Ara. YOu dont have to worry about me. You should just go grab some dinner and relax. I dont mind joining you if you want to eat together"] he suggested, although, he hadnt figured out how he was going to get out of his bed just yet.

No one knew what really happened after graduation, but most of them would gossip at lunch or in their rooms about a better life. Being able to guard someone rich, who'd let them explore the world or let them live a life. Most people that Sylus interacted with had dreams of getting a career, going to a real school, or just finding the girl of their dreams and starting a family. Their dreams were anything that a normal human being would want and it was unfair to see them suffering because they were placed here in this prison.
Sylus didnt really have a dream as big as they did. He just wanted to experience the outside world. Have someone care about him and saw him as someone important would be amazing as well. He's never really felt needed or wanted, so he's always just drifted out as an outcast. Still, all he wanted was to just graduate and be free of these walls.
Sylus' birthday was coming up as well, but it was always a day he dreaded ever since he was seven. It was the day this hell broke loose and his mother abandoned him. The day he had received the worst present of all. Loneliness. He never looked forward to that day, but he did swear that one day when he got out of here...he'd buy himself something nice. Something to change such a horrible day to something normal. If only their wants could be fulfilled, even if it was a small want.
As he spoke to Ara, he wondered why she'd be going all over the place. Abandoning everyone? Why would she want to do that. [#7401DF "Why are you going to abandon us?"] he asked, not wanting her to leave. She was the only kind person he's really met here and he practically grew up beside her.
When he was taken into the bedroom, Sylus woke up after a while, but it was still difficult to move his body. He just turned his head to face her and then he saw saw his roommate Luke beside her. What was he up to? He better not lay a finger on Ara. He wouldnt allow that to happen. His eyes moved back to ARa, feeling surprised she didnt tell them it was Eric. He didnt want anyone else hurting her like that and he could see from her wrist that it must have been painful. Sylus reached over and then he held her hand, looking for a while [#7401DF "You should stay away from here for a while Ara. I dont want you getting hurt like this"] he told her, sighing a little as she stepped out to go get them some food.
He looked at Luke and shrugged a little [i "She's your friend Sylus? Why didnt you tell me you and Ara were close! She's like the the only girl that gets to be here and she's such a beaut. Look how nice she is getting us food. HOw lucky are you"] he smiled and Sylus just shook his head. She got food for other people too and was nice to them as well. His mind was conflicted with what reason she had for doing those things. Was Eric right? NO, he couldnt be. He's been Ara's friend for years and she hasnt done anything to betray him like that.
Just as the two were talking, he heard a soft yell in the hallway. IT sounded like Ara. He tried to move, the feeling in his muscles coming back as he walked towards the door and then Luke hurried to help him. When he opened the door to see Eric holding her against the wall, Sylus could feel the panic kick in and he immediately began moving on his own, running towards him as he pulled him back. [#7401DF "Get away from her!"] he yelled and pulled Eric back. Luke walked over and helped Ara up onto her feet as he kept her away from Sylus and Eric. [i "I told you Sylus. That girl is nothing but trouble. Just wait. She'll turn her back on you too and you'll end up like COllin. Dead!"] he told him and Sylus just shoved him back.
[#7401DF "I dont care. Ara wouldnt do that...she's nice"] he argued back and Eric just walked over and lifted him up by the collar [i "She's nice? Then why is COllin dead when she was the last person with him"] he narrowed his eyes and threw him against the wall. Sylus fell to the ground, but he managed to get back up. His muscles were working again, so he decided to defend himself. Eric walked over throwing a punch to his face, but Sylus managed to dodge. He slammed his right hook into Eric's gut and saw him fall back, backing up against the wall as he coughed up some blood. Sylus wasnt as big as most of these guys here, but his punches hurt. He had more power behind them than just being big with tons of muscles.
Eric ran after him and Sylus just kneed him more into the gut and slammed his fists onto his back so he fell to the ground. He backed up a bit and looked at Eric [#7401DF "Dont lay another finger on Ara. She didnt do anything. Collin tried to escape....we should know better"] he sighed softly and then he walked over Luke and Ara, massaging his fists a little before he tried to lift that smile again [#7401DF "Are you alright?"] he asked, thanking Luke for helping out. He saw the guard returning with a bag of food and he just walked the two of them back into their rooms for now. He didnt want to deal with Eric anymore, not to mention the fact that he still felt tired. The adrenaline in his blood was fading and now he could feel his muscles dying down again so he took a seat on his bed and laid back down.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center Abandonment was something she never wanted to do. Sometimes, she had to follow through what was required of her. She lingered her because she felt responsibility, cared about them. That and no matter how she attempted to find ways out of it, she figured there was no way out. "[b No Sylus... I wouldn't ever abandon any of you. I mean I wouldn't leave because I don't want to abandon anyone here or you. But...my time here will decrease more and more." She didn't want that. She wanted to make things easier for the people here, just even a little bit, even if it was false hope. ]] [Cabin [center After seeing Sylus try so hard to defend her, it left a bad taste in her, knowing how Eric was right. It felt wrong having Sylus defend her but she let him. She sat in their room and kept quiet with Luke around. Then Sylus woke up and it put a smile on her to see him awake. It looked like he would be fine then. Her eyes traveled to the touch of her hand being held. She smiled and looked back at him, hearing his concern. "[b You boys get hurt all the time... A little bruise is nothing compared to what you've been through. I can take it, and I'm still safe here. ]" She then got up, wanting to get them food and for herself too. Then she felt the weight fall off. She opened her eyes and saw Sylus had pulled him back. She took Luke's help and followed along to keep away just she wasn't in between but she could still hear everything. She hoped as hell that she would never dear have to have orders to kill Sylus. Being that closed into letting Eric do whatever he wanted actually made her frightened. She watched Sylus until he came in front of her and attempted a smile. Even a slight smile made her light up a bit from him. "[b Yea. I'm alright. Thanks to you...thank you. ]" She hugged him and looked at Luke and decided to give him a hug too, "Thanks." She saw the guard come back and released him. ]] [Cabin [center "[b It's probably better if I go. You two enjoy your lunch, and rest up. She knew that it appeared like she easily recovered from what happened and she knew her smiles looked genuine. Some were but most weren't. She wasn't happy. She felt broken. He would have more work tomorrow and falling behind would be bad. She left and had returned home, and the first room she entered was a spacious room. A room with no personal touch, no computer, no pictures, nothing in the desk. The only thing personal she saw there was her elder brother in his bed, glancing at her. He was getting up when she shut the door and decided not to talk to him again, since ten years ago. ]] [Cabin [center She entered her bedroom and hid herself in her bed sheets. ]] [Cabin [center For now...she didn't want to go back to the facility, until they needed her, or mentally gained better control of herself and her thoughts. ]]
It frightened him to think that Ara would just disappear soon. If she was going to go away, the first thing he could think of was that maybe she was going to try and escape? Or maybe she had done something horrible and they wanted her dead like Collin? Either way, she was being vague about what she was going to do. He just didnt want her to be gone off the face of the earth. In all truth, he still wanted to see her, visit and hang out with her at least until he could graduate...and if he could, maybe after that too. SHe's been kind and she cared about him, whether she treated everyone like that or not. In the end, she still came to visit him as well, so that made him happy on sad days.
Sylus investigated her wrist, seeing that large bruise and for some reason it felt wrong. Ara had been nothing but nice to him and to see someone hurt her like this only made him upset. He wanted Eric to pay for his actions because this wasnt fair. [#7401DF "We get hurt, but it's because we're forced to. You were attacked. It's different"] he frowned, knowing that they suffered a lot through both punishments and the medications. The training had left them fatigued and in horrible shape, but no one really cared about that. Either you managed to make it out or not. Even Sylus had a few scars from having knife battles and from shooting guns. The worst scars are the repeated injections on his right arm. It almost looked like polka dots scattered in one area. Everyone had them, but they couldnt really do anything about it.
When Luke and Sylus heard some noise just outside of the door, they both hurried over and Sylus was just angry, seeing Eric holding Ara like that. Did he not know how fragile girls were? Sylus had learned that from seeing his mother and how his father treated her. He always wanted to protect her, but his father was too strong and would always over power him or hurt him.
He didnt want that happening to Ara, so he was concerned. He managed to get Eric off of her, fighting him off as he managed to get him onto the ground. WHen he made it back to ARa, he felt her arms around him and he couldnt help but lift another smile. He just wanted to protect her because she always looked after him. [#7401DF "Please just be more careful. Bring a guard with you if you need to. It's dangerous"] he said worriedly before seeing the guard and then hearing her leaving. He wanted to talk to her a little more to make sure she was okay, but when he heard about a cake, he looked surprised.
[#7401DF "Cake.....I dont know....I've never really had cake. But you dont have to Ara. It's really nothing"] he admitted, knowing it was more of a depressing day than a good one. HE didnt really want to bring her into that depressing mood. But when she started talking about presents, Sylus really didnt know what to do. He didnt remember the last birthday present he ever got because his parents never really did care much. [#7401DF "You dont have to Ara. Really....I dont want to trouble you...it's just a birthday"] he shrugged, just glad she seemed back to normal.
THey said their goodbyes and Sylus headed back to his room with Luke, opening the bag of food to see the burgers and fries. He's never really had this before, so when the two boys took a bite, their eyes widened and then they kept eating more and more. It was delicious. One of the best meals he's ever had here. All of his favorite foods were given to him by Ara. He felt really lucky, but according to Eric, she's done this for everyone else too.
[i Are you fucking serious! This is the shiiit! Damn Sylus. I dont know how you did it, but that girl is the best. No wonder everyone wants to be friends with her. If I could eat like this, I dont mind staying here for a while"] Luke finished his burger quickly and then Sylus did as well. He felt so satisfied and then he managed to just pass out in bed for the night.
The next morning, Sylus was feeling so groggy, his body ached and he just tried to force himself to get up, otherwise he'd get yelled at by the guards and be sent to do more painful activities. He quickly showered and dressed up in the training uniform, a black tank and some camo pants. He then headed outside quickly and made his way to the cafeteria, managing to grab some food before everyone left for training. Sylus felt unable to though. His muscles ached and he didnt now if he could make it today, but he had to.
He ran with the group, ending up far behind. WHen they were sparring, he was too slow, getting hit by his opponent easily. But by the time training finished, Sylus was about to pass out from exhaustion. He headed back tot he cafeteria for the day, resting his head on the table.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center She hoped she'd cross paths with Sylus after he graduated. She didn't doubt that he would graduate but she wanted to see him again. There was no telling where he would be sent off to. There were so many options. There was no use considering that there was no future. ]] [Cabin [center She decided to move in more into the cafeteria and spotted Sylus again. She wanted to talk to him. She saw him with his head down on the table. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Hey ]" She poked his arm, "[b Are you alive? Say...do you want to walk around with me? Maybe take a breath of fresh air? ]" She whispered the last bit. They weren't technically allowed outside, and it wasn't like they could find their way out anyway, but she knew the way and she definitely could sneak him out...just for a bit. This could be like a...early birthday present. Except she was getting him something else too. ]]
He didnt know what would happen after he graduate, but at the same time, he did want to still see Ara because he did see her a good friend. She's been there since he first came to this horrible place and in truth, she brought him comfort. Would there still be comfort wherever he would be next? He wasnt sure, but Ara was his source of comfort, so he hoped that wherever he was, he'd still be able to see her.
Sylus couldnt help her right now and he wanted to make sure she was doing okay. He was worried about what Eric did to her and he couldnt just sit around and do nothing. She was kind and she did help him out so much, so he was going to help her out as well.
Having her safe was one thing, but if he saw her in trouble, he'd go and save her. Seeing her trying to celebrate his birthday was sweet, but it was a kindness that he didnt really want. Sure he was thankful she wanted to do something for him, but his birthday was a very sad day. No amount of cake or presents could make him enjoy his birthday. At least he didnt think so.
But he could see how hard she was trying and he didnt want to let her down. Sylus just nodded his head and gave her a small smile. [#7401DF "Okay. Ill make sure to try it. If you're making it for me....I have no choice"] he shrugged a little and then he headed back to his room for the night.
THe next day was starting out to be a bad one. Sylus was slacking off in training. His body just wouldnt let him run as hard as he used to now and he didnt know what was going on. WHy was he so weak today, he ran this many miles before no problem....but why wasnt his body working? He eventually got yelled at and was told to get off of the field, so he just showered and headed towards the cafeteria, feeling worried now that he was resting on the table. The horrible thing was that since he couldnt keep up, they still wouldnt let him rest. THey usually trained the weak much harder and he was completely exhausted.
Sylus was resting on the table when he heard whispers and and people talking about Ara. HIs eyes looked up at her and then he noticed that she was holding hands with some blonde male. Did she get a guard? Was that man really someone she considered important? His eyes watched until the man kissed her cheek and then he averted his eyes away after seeing Ara smiling.
He rested his head on the table again and he heard her voice and felt her poking his arm and when Sylus looked up at her, he nodded his head [#7401DF "Im alive. Im just having a bad day right now. I dont know what's going on"] he sighed softly, wondering why she wanted to go out with him when clearly she had someone that was all over her. Maybe she finally accepted one of the guards as someone she could be with? He didnt know, but he decided that he needed fresh air anyway.
[#7401DF "Ya sure. I can walk with you"] he heard her whisper and he wondered why. Was it because she was taking him outside? He didnt know, but he did like the idea of getting fresh air. [#7401DF "Ill follow your lead. Only if you want to....did you want to take your guard too? He seems to be really attached, maybe he doesnt like you being with me right now. He might think I'm going to attack"]

Great. ]" ]] [Cabin [center Slacking and falling behind wasn't an option unless someone had a death wish. It didn't make sense, that he would be slacking off. He was doing so well. What changed it all the sudden? His life was at risk and it built up this horrible ache in her chest. He couldn't, he just couldn't fall behind because she didn't want to be ordered to put the gun to his head. It was always harder to kill someone when she's seen them as a child. If she could convince the system that she was with Tanner outside rather than Sylus, then there was no worry. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Sylus... I heard you've been falling behind, ]" She mentioned, "[b Are you feeling okay? ]" She spoke as she lead him to the room she stayed some time. The girl's weren't near their sleeping quarters yet, so they wouldn't notice her sneaking in a guy. She opened her room door and pulled him inside with her. ]] [Cabin [center Her space was pretty typical. Small, and there was a basket of her clothes that she had fold up. She was hoping Tanner was going to be quick, so they could spend more time out there. ]] [Cabin [center "[b This is where I sleep sometimes. ]" She said and was hoping he would sit beside her while they wanted. "[b So, what's wrong? Why are you slipping? You know how dangerous that can be. I can get you help if you need it. ]" She held up her usual expression but her chest felt heavy and the threat hung in the air. In all of the time he's been here, she hasn't heard him once being an actual problem. She looked over the door, getting impatient and then back at Sylus. She trusted him, that he wasn't like Eric or some of the boys out there that would probably try to use being alone with her as an advantage. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Just so you know... I plan on taking you outside. So, that would mean you'd have to appear as a guard, wear Tanner's clothes, so they think I'm with him outside instead of you. I highly doubt we'll get caught but there's still a risk. Do you want to risk going outside with me or just stay here? ]" She asked. ]]
He didnt really understand why she couldnt leave because if anyone had the chance to, he knew she'd be the one that could probably pull it off. Ara was in and out of everywhere in the facility. She could come and go whenever she pleased, but Sylus didnt really feel the need to ask her about why she couldnt because she never really talked about personal things that much.
He was hesitant when she mentioned the cake and the presents because he didnt want to involve her in his own personal problems. There was nothing he had against her, it was just that he didnt want her to be a part of an upsetting day for him. He didnt think she'd be able to change his mood much, especially if she only saw him as a regular person. She treated everyone the same as the way she treated him didnt she? She just seemed to talk to him more, that was it. She gave special food and clothes to others and she obviously had a guy with her. What did she need him in her life for anyway? He could stay as a friend....maybe that was enough. He was just glad her kindness was around, so maybe he should stop questioning this uneasiness. Sylus was still confused about the way he felt, but tried to just move on. He didnt want to get attached to anyone else because they were just going to leave him.
At the table, he decided to go along with her out as he looked up at Tanner. What did that man want anyway? Why would he hurt her? he just held Ara's hand and followed her down the halls to her room. When he walked over, he took a seat beside her on her bed, his eyes looking around the room curiously. [i [#7401DF "So this is what a girl's room looks and smells like"]] he's never been in one before, so he was surprised to be here right now. This thoughts were disrupted when he heard her speak. He took in a few small breaths and shrugged [#7401DF "I dont know. Maybe my body is still fatigued from the shock. I wasnt able to keep up today so they made me run more and I got exhausted....so they sent me home for the day"] he explained to her, thinking about what else he could do. HE wasnt sure what....but he didnt want to fail.
[#7401DF "If we're going outside isnt that bad? I dont want to get caught and be like COllin Ara.but if you're sure it's safe....I do kind of want to feel that fresh air and see the sky"] he asked and then he kept his hands on his lap. HIs head was facing down to the ground as he thought about what would happen to him if he kept slipping. He needed to graduate and failure wasnt really an option.
[#7401DF "So....is Tanner your boyfriend?"] he wondered, seeing the two had gotten cozy earlier. Was he someone even more special than everyone else.....for some reason he wanted to know.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center Nothing was going to stop her from attempting to give him a good birthday. It didn't bother her if he was going to be upset on that day. Being miserable with one other person was better than being miserable alone. There was just something she never understood. Why did she attempt to do more for him than she had done with others? Why? Sylus was only of the many she talked to, that she met. He was the only one her age that she met at a young age and didn't die. Maybe it was because she felt like they were surviving through this together, but she wasn't surviving it. She was just living through it. She didn't have to survive anything because she knew she would live. So what was it? ]] [Cabin [center When was the last time she had taken anyone out? She liked to remember them, remember that they existed, even if they didn't live long. There were also people she killed in here. These pictures broke her sanity or lifted it depending on the day. "[i I'll stay here if you two decide to go. ] ]] [Cabin [center "[b Ready to go?]" She looked over at Sylus. "[b I'll be right outside the door, so you can change. ]" She stepped out of the room, and waited right by the hall. This hall was completely safe since Eric had no access to it. ]]
He didnt think that a birthday was a good idea at all. He didnt want to be reminded of things he didnt have and he honestly just wanted to forget about the day completely. Nothing good ever happened that day and he didnt believe anything great would happen either. He was happy that she was trying, but she really didnt need to. A day to just forget about everything was a day he wanted. If only he could erase his memories of that day, then he could actually enjoy it.
Ara was special to him. Even he understood that. She was always so warmhearted, kind, and generous, risking her own life to help many of the others. Sure it wasnt just him, but as long as she stayed kind, he'd look at her the same. She kept him going when all he looked forward to was hard work and pain. If only he could give her something back in return because he felt indebted to her.
Syrus' eyes looked around the room, seeing the pictures of many inmates. He recognized many of them and he had a feeling she did this for remembrance. There was no way she could be faking a kindness like this. No one would go through the trouble of saving pictures of the dead, unless they had memories with them and that was Ara. She was friendly with everyone. [#7401DF "It's a girl's room. There's plenty to see. I've never been in one before"] he told her, taking a seat and just relaxing by her. He just felt a little nervous because he was thinking about their plan to escape, or how he was failing right now. He just wasnt in a very good mood.
WHen she said she'd talk to the instructors, Mason just shook his head [#7401DF "YOu dont have to Ara. You've already done so much for me....I feel like I owe you too much already. I think ILl be fine"] he told her, thinking about how he was going to deal with this. He didnt know what he was going to do if he continued poorly, but he just hoped that it was enough to still graduate.
[#7401DF "I want to risk it. Let's do it"] he told her, knowing this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. If he didnt do this now, when was he ever going to get another chance. When Sylus glanced back and asked, he heard her reply and he wondered if Tanner really was just a no one. He clearly saw her smile when he kissed her. [#7401DF "I saw him...kiss you"] he spoke quietly before he saw Tanner hear inside.
[#7401DF "Ill change. Tanner can you keep and eye on her"] he asked for them to leave as he changed into the guard uniform. WHen he finished, he walked over towards Ara and then he smiled a little more [#7401DF "Okay IM ready. So where to? I havent seen the outside in years"] he told her, glancing down at her hand and getting used to the fact that she'd always hold his hand. Sylus held her hand in his, laced his fingers in between hers and then he looked up at her blue eyes [#7401DF "Lead the way!"] he said, feeling sort of excited now. THey were seriously breaking some rules, but what else could they do? IT was their only chance.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center She never wanted to forget a single person she's met here. No one else in the world knew what happened to them. To the rest of the world they were missing or dead. She wanted, needed some kind of proof that they were here. It haunted her sometimes. The many faces of the dead, and some of them still alive but who knew how long they would be alive for. She didn't have to be here, she could have been completely detached from them and never show up to the facility except to do the job. But pretending like it wasn't there didn't mean it wasn't there. ]] [Cabin [center She gave a weak smile because she knew this room was pretty awful. But he couldn't have saw what a real nice room looked like. She would show him some but then it would probably would remind him of what he didn't have. She saw how he was keeping to himself right now, and decided not to push it. She hoped he would like to go out there with her. There wasn't much to see out there but she bet he would like just being out in the open blue sky or feeling the sun on his skin. ]] [Cabin [center "[b But I want to. ]" She stated. Done so much? If she's done so much than why was he still here? Why was everyone still here. She could never do enough. "[b You don't owe me at all. I'll tell them to give you some rest if you really need it. They shouldn't be pushing you so much. ]" She's knew a lot of people were grateful for her but she didn't want them to be, because she wasn't doing much. She couldn't do enough for them, not yet. One day, she would, even if it killed her. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Alright.]" Hopefully this wouldn't make him want to take any other risks. Tanner as her boyfriend? Sure, he was attractive and she did like him but it wouldn't happen. Only because she couldn't bear to be that emotionally close to someone she knew had no good ending. Besides, it would distract her. She only had one goal in mind and it wasn't love. Love just didn't seem real. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Oh. ]" Kiss her... "[b It was just a kiss on the cheek. He asked me to go out with him, so I said yes. But it's nothing serious... You sound upset.]" Tanner came in and she stepped out into the hall. She saw Tanner come out with her and she end talking to him for a bit. He asked her about where they should go, and she suggested to go out watch a movie or go walk around a park. She didn't feel good telling him yes when it would end up nowhere. If she was a normal girl with a normal crush, then she would be more than excited but she wasn't. ]] [Cabin [center Ara smiled seeing Sylus out and appear excited. It was really good to hear him so excited. She held onto his hand and lead the way towards one of the exists. She went through down the hall, further and further until she reached a rusted door. There was one guard there. She gave a smile to him and he moved aside and looked the other way, as she opened the door. When she opened the door there was a iron ladder that lead up all the way to the top. There was another exit that was the elevator but that was way more guarded. She climbed up the railing and let Sylus follow her up. She pushed the swinging door above her head open and climbed out, feeling the sun hit her face and nearly blind her. She waited for Sylus to come out before she closed the door. They were in a huge grassy field with trees way up ahead. Ara stretched out her arms, and smiling. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Hmmm...The sun is so nice and the weather's nice today too. I picked a good day. ]" She looked back at Sylus and smiled, "[b Nice to the sky again isn't it? ]" She then decided to fall back and lay down on the grass. She looked back at him again, "[b You look pretty good in that guard uniform. ]" It almost fit him like second skin. It was black so she hoped it wasn't too hot with it on. ]]
He didnt know how tough all of this was for her, but just by looking at the pictures, even Sylus felt a little upset inside. Not only was he unable to do anything about a lot of these people, but they didnt even have that chance to outside like he had right now. He was lucky that she was showing him all of this. Did he deserve it? Probably not because he was risking both of their lives just to see the sun again, but Syrus really wanted to see it. It could be his last time before he did end up like Collin. He had a feeling the more the guards saw him slacking, the more they'd try to get rid of him and honestly Sylus was feeling a little nervous. That time could be anytime soon.
Still, her room was nice, it was clean, cozy and had some sentimental memories. All Sylus had in his room was his bed really. HE had nothing from his old life anymore and no pictures besides what he had in his memory. IT was nice to see something different for once. HE stayed at her side, wondering why in the world she wanted to do so much for him? She did this much for everyone didnt she? She shouldnt have to work so hard for him. He was nothing special.
[#7401DF "Im really fine Ara. Im sure I can make it tomorrow. Maybe I was just really tired today"] he told her, not wanting to trouble her at all. His eyes just focused on his hands, keeping to himself because he wasnt sure how he felt right now. He was both nervous and excited, but he couldnt really focus on anything else. That was until she explained who Tanner was. It didnt make him feel any better. He didnt mean to sound upset, but just the thought of her going to a few places with another man...it made him feel tense inside and he didnt know why. Why was he getting so upset? Syrus didnt really understand. He tried to just relax and not care about it when Tanner came in.
After dressing up, he seemed really excited because not only was he in a guard uniform, he was going to see the sun. He really hoped this worked. Following her towards the rusted door. When he climbed up the ladder behind her, he felt the heat hit his skin and Sylus just had to squint and close his eyes as he climbed out. He used his hands to cover his face, peeking out at the sky slowly and then he opened his eyes fully. Sylus looked completely stunned when he looked around the area, seeing grass, trees, the blue sky and feeling this warm heat. It felt amazing, something he hasnt felt in nearly fifteen years. His pale skin warmed up and he saw Ara, copying her by stretching out his arms as well. [#7401DF "I cant believe this. This place is beautiful! I almost forgot what it was like living a life outside of here"] he laid on the grass beside her, his fingers reaching out to touch the leaves of grass as he looked everywhere.
He seemed like a child seeing a candy store for the first time. It was more than amazing! He had a bright smile on his face and as he stared up at the blue sky, he almost felt like crying. It reminded him of his room as a boy staring out the window of his room. HE remembered playing at the park with his mother sometimes, going out shopping....he remembered it all. This was the real world. THe one everyone was striving to see.
Sylus just took in that fresh air and relaxed in the grass, hearing Ara compliment him. He had forgotten why he was upset earlier, but right now he was grateful she took him here [#7401DF "Thanks. This uniform feels great. It's like Im almost there about to graduate and maybe wear one of these. That would be nice"] he admitted, knowing that Tanner was probably able to go out here and enjoy the world with Ara. He could experience that with her, while he couldnt. Maybe he should just butt out of that and let her do what she wanted. If she want to go out with guys, that wasnt up to him and she could do what she truly wanted.
[#7401DF "Thanks for taking me out here Ara. It reminded me of my goals and what I want to do. I want to be able to live on real ground. Even if it wasnt for long"] he gripped the grass between his fingers as he just took in the smell of the breeze and relaxed. IT was so beautiful out here. [#7401DF "You're lucky to get to see all of this when you want"] Sylus just felt himself at peace for once, feeling slightly emotional. This was one of those dreams come true moments but now he could feel that really could go up here eventually.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center When he called himself fine, she decided to let it go, but she hoped he wasn't going to strain himself too much. It was clear he was upset, but why would that upset him? She didn't get any answer so she decided to let that go too. ]] [Cabin [center The sky, the sun was nothing new to her. She always could feel the sun on her skin on sunny days or rain when it was pouring. It was different for them. She stretched out her arms for a moment and would give a look back at him, smiling. She then fell back to lay on the grass. She stared up into the couple of clouds in the massive infinite blue. "[b If you think this is beautiful, you should see all the other places around the world. You might get to once you're out here. ]" Instead of watching the sky now, she watched him. ]] [Cabin [center His smile lit her up. She hasn't seen him smile like this. When he smiled it always seemed like he was trying, but now it seemed like he didn't have to put a single effort. She rolled to lay on her side and look at him. She knew her pale peach summer dress was going to get ruined by the grass but she didn't care this time. ]] [Cabin [center "[b You will. You know..." Her eyes drifted away, her fingers running through the grass. "[b If you do really...really well or be the best. You could...be stationed to protecting me. I mean, if you wanted that.]" She felt a little shy suggesting that as an idea. It left a little warm feeling in her thinking that he would be around her. It wouldn't feel so lonely, and she trusted him. She did have a major goal and wanted someone to fight with her to make this all stop, but she didn't know if he would ever want that. ]] [Cabin [center Ara's blue eyes directed back into him, smiling seeing him grip onto the grass, seeing him smile and listening to his words. It was good to see him enjoy it out here. She looked back at the open blue sky, laying back on her back, "[b Yea... I guess. ]" But she's been out here for so long that it didn't feel like she was lucky. It was just normal. She sat up. She then got up and start picking up some dandelions and then sitting back down with him and blew into them, watching it's white seeds flow out into the air. She passed him two, "[b Make a wish and then blow on them. It might make it happen. ]" She smiled and stretched out her legs. She just realized how important it was to them or him to be outside. She was really hoping to get him to enjoy his time out here. Maybe she'd take him to that small pond really close by after they relaxed in the grass for a bit. ]]
Sylus didnt want to rely on her too much because he knew they would suspect something. Ara was obviously a related to someone in a high position, otherwise she wouldnt be able to be doing all of this. The other girls were just like them, spending their days in the institution and being forced to train relentlessly. He knew that she had some sort of secret, but Sylus never wanted to pry in her life. IF she wanted to tell him she would, otherwise if he found out on his own....well then he would also.
When he stepped food on the grass, Sylus was more than shocked to see everything out there that he hasnt seen in years. It was like stepping into a different world, breathing air that was so natural. It felt amazing and he couldnt help but have a smile on his face because he really did not believe he'd be able to see a sight like this again.
He closed his eyes and took in the warmth of the bright sun and listened to the wind blowing through the trees. He felt calm for a while till he heard Ara. She mentioned working hard and maybe being her guard. If he protected her, wouldnt that mean he'd always be watching after her? Would that mean watching after her when she got married? When she still stayed in here? He didnt know, but he did still want to be around her. He just didnt know what she was planning to do with her life yet either. [#7401DF "That would be nice. I hope I could graduate and get placed into a nice job like that"] he smiled and saw her watching him.
He sat up and looked at her, watching her blow the dandelions as he stared in amazement. He's never seen anything like this before and he wanted to try it too. Sylus held onto and made a wish, blowing it into the wind as he watched all the seeds disperse beautifully. He made another wish and blew the second dandelion towards Ara, seeing it scatter all over her as he laughed a little, not having been this cheerful in such a long time.
This was so amazing and he felt so free right now. He wanted her to show him more things, to introduce him to the world he didnt remember. Sylus stood up and then he ran towards one of the trees, looking up at it curiously, touching it's trunk. [#7401DF "This place is so great. I completely forgot what being outside was like!"] he said still stunned by the environment.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center Her own life had to remain a secret. She couldn't utter a single world to him. It altered some fear into her not knowing how he would take in that her father was the one who was the cause of his misery, of everyone here. She wanted him by her side but if he was by her side, he would be informed that. Maybe he wouldn't look at her the same, maybe he wouldn't want to be alongside her with that knowledge. She didn't want the way he saw her to shift. She liked the way he saw her now. ]] [Cabin [center The weather was just perfect. It was calming...silence. The only thing that could be heard was the rush of the winds, rustling of leaves and maybe a couple of bird chirps. For a horrible place hiding underneath, this spot wasn't too bad. There were better spots but she could see how much this mattered to Sylus and it made her warm up inside seeing him enjoy it out here. She smiled hearing that he would like that. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Then be the one of the best. I know you can be. ]" She wasn't exactly allowed to pick out her own security because everyone knew she wouldn't exactly pick the best rather than who she liked the company of most...and that wouldn't end well. She could only recommend someone if they were really spot on. ]] [Cabin [center She grabbed a bunch of dandelions and blew it out into the sky. She made her own wishes. Wishing something didn't mean it would happen but she would try as hard as she could. She passed it onto him and watched him blow, the white string seeds floating around. She turned her head to him and closed her eyes when they came out of her. His laugh followed and she smiled hearing his laugh, dusting it away. "[b Sounds like you're having fun. ]" She loved seeing him having fun out here. She crossed one leg over the other and saw him go over to a tree trunk. She tilted her head and was trying to see it how he was seeing it. But she couldn't. She wasn't cooped up for years. ]] [Cabin [center She got up and then took his hand, "Come on. Follow me." She lead him past the trees, climbing over fallen trees until they came across a pond. It was pretty. The water was clear, and blue because it had been untouched. "This is just one pond around here." She mentioned and then looked around the trees. She saw one tree that she could climb. It's branches stretched out over the pond. She would go in it if she knew how to swim. She knew that Sylus' must have known, they had a pool in that facility. She was just too afraid to go in it. She moved over to it and start climbing, one branch out at a time until she was half way. She moved down a branch that was over the water, and then decided to sit on it, her feet swinging. "[b Do you think you can get up here? ]" She asked "[b Or if you want, you can go for a swim. ]" ]]
In truth, he didnt know anything about Ara when it came to her personal life. He didnt know her favorite food, her favorite animal, or anything when it came to her. No one really had a preference down there, especially when it came to the routine lives they lived. The only things that were Sylus' favorites were the things that Ara had brought him. Those new things, seeing this world right now. SHe made him have his favorites, especially his favorite day.
Today was amazing because he got to do something that everyone dreamt of doing. Being able to be out here in the world was more than anything he could have asked for. A lot of people strived to make it out here, but never did, so he would feel proud for all of them.
Being one of the best? There was no way he could do that....he used to have a decent spot, but now he was just slacking and even though he was trying hard yesterday, he felt exhausted. He would try, that was for sure [#7401DF "I will. Hopefully it'll get me into at least the top ten"] he smiled, playing around with her int he grassy field as he smiled and laughed. He wished he'd be able to graduate and live the life he wanted afterwards, and his second wish involved Ara. He blew it towards her, seeing her close her eyes and he laughed for the first time in years.
He followed her towards the pond and his eyes widened at the clear water. He took off his shoes and dipped his feet in as he watched her climb up the tree. Sylus decided to go for a swim, taking off the uniform and staying in his boxer briefs as he jumped in and felt the water surround him. He's never swam out in nature before. With the trees and the sun, it felt amazing on his skin. He stood in the middle of the pond and stared up at the sky as he reached up and tried to touch the clouds. Man they were so far underground to even be this high.
He looked over at Ara in the tree and then he swam over just under the branches. He didnt know if she knew how to swim, but he was having a good time with her. He reached up and touched her swinging feet, smirking [#7401DF "Why not come in for a swim Ara"] he saw her dress blowing in the wind and just seeing her up there made him realize that she was in a different place than him. She was in a higher position and was probably worth more than he ever could be. He looked up at her and waved his hand, jumping to see if he could reach her. [#7401DF "Im going to get you down here!"] he smiled.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center No one really did know about her. She never really talked much about herself. She just tried to make people's days and when people asked her questions which rarely happened, she avoided the question and gave some other answer to something else. She didn't like talking about herself. She didn't want them to find out what kind of person she really was. She wanted to be just that girl that was really nice to them and helping them out. She didn't want them to see her as anything else. She didn't want Sylus to see anything else. ]] [Cabin [center She was counting that he would be one of the best. Would it be too much for him? Either way, she hoped he would make it a goal because if he could stick around her, then she wouldn't ever let him suffer like this again. She assumed she wasn't too hard to protect since she was always around a large crowd of people or places that no one really could aim for her. "[b Okay, within the top ten, you can do it. I believe you. ]" She nodded. She didn't want him to be falling behind. The last thing she wanted was having to aim a weapon at him when she would never want to hurt him. He had to make it out of here somehow. ]] [Cabin [center She doubly blinked surprised that he blew it on her but it lifted her up to hear him laugh. She could make him laugh. To think that was possible. Ara decided to climb onto the tree. She loved the water but only if it was shallow and that pond was definitely not shallow. That's why it was okay with her just to be over the water and watch him dive in. She end up eyeing him and forgot how attractive these boy's bodies were. She smiled as she just watched him go into the water and enjoy himself. ]] [Cabin [center The wind was moving a bit more roughly but didn't think it was that bad until it moved her dress up. Her eyes widened and she pushed it down and tried to keep it down. She had taken off her sandals before climbing since she did want to dip her feet in a little after. She nearly jumped when he touched her. It worried her...going into that water. What if she drowned? She didn't know how to swim and it kind of scared her. She put her feet him and laughing seeing him trying to reach her. "[b No way! ]" She saw him get closer and stuck out her tongue playfully at him.. ]] [Cabin [center "[b But Sylus... I really can't actually go down there. I don't know how to swim. I don't want to drown.]" It did frighten her a bit. She didn't really want to embarrass herself by not knowing how to swim either. "[b Besides... I don't really have anything to wear... ]" She muttered. Did she want him to see through her dress? She wasn't so sure about that. It wasn't like it would bother her too much, it was the not knowing how to swim that bothered her. ]]
He knew that she didnt talk much, but at the same time, he understood that there was no reason to talk about personal lives right now. All he wanted was to hear more about her and maybe have her tell him a few of her favorite things, even if he didnt know what they were. Most of his favorite things she probably already knew about. Hell, most of the things he wanted were already given to him by her.
Sylus did want to do well and get out of here, to prove his mother wrong that he was worth something. He could try and do his best, after all ever since he was a kid, he easily made the top five since he was here for a longer period of time than most people. This was the only time he really was failing and he knew it was because he did get tased the other day. Still, he believed he could do well without having to rest.
When they both reached the lake, Sylus would wanted into the water, just swimming around the pond for a bit, feeling the cold water against his bare skin relaxed him as he resurfaced and wandered over to where she was on the tree. Syrus didnt really pay attention to what had been done to his body already. There were bad scars, there were injection scars, punishment scars, and just so many. They didnt even have to worry about being fat because they were always pushed to the extreme to work out.
He stood up and saw her dress fly, getting a peek of her underwear before he averted his eyes. He's never seen a girl in that way before and the only girl he's seen is Ara. He reached up to try and catch her, but when she shifted, he laughed and then he heard she didnt know how to swim and had no clothes. She literally was in a dress and he guessed her couldnt force her. [#7401DF "Maybe I can teach you sometime. That would be fun"] he lifted a smile and then he ran his fingers through his damp hair, not even noticing how dressed his boxers were, pretty much sticking to his skin.
He walked towards the tree, climbing up as he took a seat beside her, feeling the breeze drying him off as he looked at the whole pond from above. [#7401DF "Oh wow, you can see everything up here. I wish I could stay above here....I dont want to go back"] he sighed, knowing that even if he tried to escape here with ARa, he'd get caught. No one ever managed to escape that he knew about.
[#7401DF "If we ran away right now...they'd still catch us, wouldnt they...?"] he asked her, wondering if she knew.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center Ara kept to herself. All the time. If they didn't get to really know her they couldn't be that attached to her, right? Well, she hoped it worked that way. Not that they could in some of the small amount of time some of them were given. ]] [Cabin [center When it came to being in the top, she hadn't seen Sylus really waver and it concerned her seeing him fall. Maybe they wouldn't take it as a big deal that he was swaying because he's been doing so well before. She knew that they would at least give him a month before making any decision. If he didn't improve, or something else was seen about him that wasn't what they wanted then she knew what would happen. She didn't think she had to worry about it. She never worried that he would be cut out because he was so strong. ]] [Cabin [center It looked like he was having fun in the water and she was glad to be the one to see him have fun. There was no fun time in that facility, so it made her feel good to be the one to bring him out here and enjoy the weather with her. Sure, she saw the scars and plenty of other things and all the boys here had it but she hardly even noticed them at all since she was so used to seeing it on them. They were all really fit, they had to be. She didn't think she would last what they were going through. ]] [Cabin [center Her cheeks lit up when she spotted her dress lifting up and saw him avert his eyes right away. At least he was nice enough to look away. She felt embarrassed and did her best to hold it down. But then she was noticing other things, like his boxers. Well... She glanced the other way and heard him suggest teaching her. She found it cute that he suggested teaching her sometime. She smiled back at him, watching him and was starting to see something in him she hadn't seen before. She nodded, "[b Uh hmm... That might be fun. ]" Even though the thought of stepping into deep water scared the daylights out of her. ]] [Cabin [center She watched him get over to her, sitting beside her. She loved being out here. She never loved it this much being here, maybe because she was on her own before. She gave a nod, "We can stay a bit longer." But she was feeling a little uneasy when he talked about not wanting to go back. He had to. That was definite. If he tried to run, she would have to stop him but then again. She couldn't. She couldn't because he would overpower her if he really wanted to but he would fail. She knew he would fail to run and make it. ]] [Cabin [center Her smile snapped off. Running away... She knew well about attempting to run away. Trying to explain to people what a lunatic her dad was. They always found her. Always. The government was working with her dad. There was no place in the world that a person could hide without her dad lifting out favours and getting what he wanted. ]] [Cabin [center "[b They would. ]" It was definite. "[b There's nowhere to run. I learned that. So since I can't run, I'll fight. ]" She shook her head and tried to clear her mind again. She looked back at him and lifted a smile, "[b One day. If you work hard enough, you won't have to run. ]" She was hoping to make that possible. She then looked over his soaking wet body and eyes lurking lower again. She turned her head slowly. She hadn't really seen another guy either... She scooted a little but when she scooted the branch couldn't support her weight and sapped off. The next thing she knew she was falling into the water and panicking because she wouldn't be able to swim. ]]
It was more than enough to be out here in the open world because Sylus really did believe that he never was going to make it. He never thought that he'd be able to touch real grass, to breath in fresh air, or just to see the bright, blue sky that everyone was talking about. He clearly remembered it when he was a child, but he didnt live long enough to really enjoy it all. The most he saw was the world when he was a six year old. After that, hell broke loose and he never saw the sun until today.
He didnt want to falter and he sure didnt want to be the weakest link. He wanted to be able to be at the top so that they'd let him go. Let him choose his own path, and let him have his freedom. Of course he knew he'd be bonded to this facility forever, working for them until he died, but it was better working out there, than in here. It was nice to just be able to relax for a while at the pond with her. He hasnt really spent time with Ara out here, so he was falling in love with how beautiful nature really was. Sure they taught him about it in classes, showed pictures of places, but he never saw them with his own eyes. Right now he felt like he could make it here.
He sat beside her in the tree, wanting to teach her how to swim because she showed him so much. The least he could do was show her something that only he knew. [#7401DF "If we ever got a chance to come out here again I can show you. Or maybe use the facility pool"] he smiled and wanted to be here much longer. He didnt want to go back to that suffocated facility.
He frowned to hear that there was no where to run, and it surprised him more that she had already tried. If she couldnt make it out, how could he? SHe was more important than he was to these people running this facility, so why couldnt she escape?
Sylus swung his legs and then he looked over, seeing her eyes looking at him. When he saw her move, the branch snapped and he saw her falling into the water. Sylus could hear her scream as he quickly dived off into the water after her.
WHen she hit the water, Sylus swam to her side, seeing her struggle as he kicked his feet and hurried, his arms wrapping beneath her, lifting her above the water and into his arms. [#7401DF "Hey it's going to be alright Ara. I got you"] he told her, holding her in his arms as he lifted her out of the water and walked towards the shore. Her dress was all soaked and he was beginning to see through her pale peach clothes. He kept his eyes on the shore and then he set her onto her feet.
[#7401DF "Here, just change into this uniform and we'll let your clothes dry"] he suggested, handing her the suit as he sat down onto the grass and turned his back so he wouldnt see her changing.
[Cabin [center Being out in the surface must have been really important to him. If only she thought of this sooner but a couple of years back she probably wouldn't be able to get him this far. She didn't have that much authority but more and more she was. It was going uphill but she didn't really know what to expect. How far she could push it, and what it took to take it all down. If she could even get away with something like that. But she knew one thing, she wouldn't live without trying until she couldn't breathe. She felt strongly about this. She knew her dad and some others saw it. That she cared too much about the people here and that's why they weren't really certain to give her any authority at all. In case she might just attempt to help somebody sneak out, or open the word out into public somehow. And well, their fears were right. ]] [Cabin [center They weren't wrong at all. ]] [Cabin [center Being out here, was nothing but she could see to him it was everything. She didn't really want to go anywhere near past shallow water but she felt like she was willing to try if he was going to attempt to teach her. She gave a nod, "[b Okay. Hope I can take you out here. Next time, I'll bring my bikini. ]" She didn't see why she couldn't try but she was kind of really afraid of going in this deep water. The thought of falling into that...that would be horrifying. She already knew the feeling of near drowning and she didn't want a re-enactment of that. Her eyes shifted to him and she moved a little away when the twig snap. ]] [Cabin [center She didn't even hear herself scream because the shock hit her hard. The water overwhelmed her and she tried to move up but could feel herself sinking. She felt him wrapping her arms around her. And she clung onto him like her life depended on him. She was heavily breathing and squeezing her eyes shut, feeling her heart pound against her chest. She didn't utter a word. She was shivering. When her feet touched the ground she felt a load of relief, even if her heartbeat wasn't settling down. ]] [Cabin [center Ara continued to keep quiet as he passed her the suit. She watched his back turn and decided that she would listen. She peered down and saw all that revealed but it didn't bother her because she was still in panic, still shaking a little and trying to calm herself down. She changed into it and sat down, and started to focus on her breathing in, and out. "[b I'm done...changing. ]" She spoke. [i Way to go. You embarrassed yourself. ] She shook her head. ]] [Cabin [center [i You deserved that. ] ]] [Cabin [center [i And you deserved it when they attempted to drown you. ] ]] [Cabin [center Go away. ]] [Cabin [center [b Thanks. ] ]] [Cabin [center She inhaled a deep breath and out. ]] [Cabin [center [b I thought... I was going to die. ] She laughed "[b Maybe I should stay away from swimming. ]]]
This meant the world to Sylus and he didnt know that it didnt mean that much to her. She was always doing whatever she wanted, maybe going out all the time was something she did as well. Still, Sylus was glad she took him out today because he never would have seen the light of day if it werent for her. Who knew if he even made it to graduation at this point. It was all he was thinking about, but no one ever knew. He was going to work as hard as he possibly could, but he did that yesterday and they sent him home. Everything was unexpected.
Staying here was so nice being able to just relax in the water and take in the heat. He had a nice swim around the pond, but when he sat beside her on the tree, he didnt know if he was disgusting to her or what, but the minute he saw her moving away, Sylus just glanced away and kept his hands to himself. Maybe she didnt feel comfortable around him like she used to? Maybe since he wasnt wearing any clothes it scared her off? HE didnt know what it was, but as the branch snapped off, he knew he had to save her.
Sylus dived in, managed to hold her in his arms, carrying her towards the shore as he set her down onto her feet. He could see she was shivering and he did his best not to look at her even if her wet clothes revealed a lot. He kept his back to her and sat on the grass for a while until he heard her say she was done changing.
He looked back at her in the suit and he laughed a little. IT was obviously too big for her, the sleeves and pants were too long. [#7401DF "Too big! You look like you're being attacked by too much clothes"] he joked and then he noticed she was still trying to calm down from the shock. [#7401DF "I wouldnt let that happen. BUt maybe you should stay away from the water for now. Just relax for a bit and then we can head back. I dont want anyone getting in trouble for staying out too long"] he suggested, sitting on the grass as he rested his elbows on his knees. He kept his eyes on the pond and just thought about how he was going to survive tomorrow. Sylus knew he needed to keep up, otherwise they'd kick him out...or kill him. He didnt know which.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center Normally, she was awfully close to people. She took their hands, hugged them and kissed them on the cheek like she knew them really well. But when she saw him not really clothed, something hit and she was nudging away but that caused the branch to snap. An overwhelming fear tunneled down her bones. The water was swallowing her up and her mind snapped back to it. The feel of her lungs burning to the extreme, over flowing her body was hitting her, and she was trembling when she held onto him. She clung onto him so hard until she reached the shore. ]] [Cabin [center Her brain wasn't processing anything but fear. So, she did whatever he suggested and curled up into herself. There was no way she would be able to survive what Sylus and everyone else in that facility went through. If they used her own fear against her, she would cave. ]] [Cabin [center At the moment she felt embarrassed. That she couldn't swim and that all she did was appear as some kind of weakling. She didn't want to be seen as weak and not being able to take care of herself. She could. At least...sometimes she could. She heard his laughter and wondered if he thought it was funny that she was scared. She frowned and kept quiet. And then him heard him talking about making fun of how they were too big on her. Of course they were. She already felt embarrassed and felt more embarrassed when he mentioned that. ]] [Cabin [center Ara was still struggling to calm herself down. It was just so vivid. That memory was so clear in her mind that she could remember what it felt like and she felt like it was going to happen just then. He wouldn't let that happen? Well...of course he wouldn't. But she wasn't thinking anyone was going to save her from it anyway. She gave a nod and looked up into the sky. "[b We should get going in ten to fifteen minutes. I'll just change back into the dress. I'll just hurry to my room when we go" They had been here for a little too long. She knew they would be checking up if Sylus was there, and she didn't want to put him in that risk. ]] [Cabin [center This time, she was feeling uncaring. "[b Try not to look. ]" She took it off, still in her bra and underwear. She'd rather be half nude than look stupid and have him laugh. She grabbed her dress and squeezed the water out of it. She sighed and put it on again and set a smile, "[b I'm glad you liked it out here. ] and sat down and looked up into the clouds for a moment. When it was time to go, she would lead the way back and when she lead the way back, she saw a helicopter land further ahead on the field. Her dad was here. He would be using another exit and he was too far to see her but it was safer to wait until he went inside. She directed Sylus back to stay hidden behind the trees. "[b Just wait for a bit... ]" There was only a small level above ground, That's the entrance her dad was going to use. She could see him go inside with his guards. ]] [Cabin [center When they were out of sight, she lead the way again and opened the latch to the ladder. She climbed down and opened the door and saw the same guard there from before, but he eyed her wet dress. She tried to pretend like she didn't notice and whispered back to Sylus' "Just follow me back to my room so you can change your clothes." She continued to lead the way in a hurry, taking his hand again and arriving at the door of her room. She unlocked it with her key and saw Tanner sleeping on her bed. She nudged him and he woke up. He stared directly at her wet clothes. [i What happened?]" ]] [Cabin [center [b Forget that... Guard the door. We both need to change ] ]] [Cabin [center Tanner raised an eyebrow to both, but nodded and guarded the door. ]] [Cabin [center Ara quickly change into her white pretty top and shorts in a rush and heard voices from out of the room. Dad. ]] [Cabin [center "[i Tanner. Is Aralyn in there? ]" Her dad asked. ]] [Cabin [center "[i Yes sir. ]" ]] [Cabin [center [b Stay here... ]" She whispered to Sylus and stepped out of the room, shutting behind her quickly. She put on a smile and looked at her dad. [b Hi, did you need me? ] ]] [Cabin [center "[i We need to talk. Elsewhere. Follow me. ] ]] [Cabin [center She nodded and looked back at Tanner, "[b See you later. ]" ]] [Cabin [center "[i Why is your hair wet? ]" Her dad asked while they walked down the hall. ]] [Cabin [center She shrugged. She knew that Tanner would help Sylus' get out of there and back to the guy's side once it was all clear. Hopefully, Tanner wouldn't ask Sylus about why she was in a wet dress. ]]
Sylus understood why she was being nice to him. It could be because she either felt sorry for him or it was because of the fact that they suffered and she didnt. He wasnt exactly sure, but he guessed it didnt come at a surprise anymore to see her holding other people's hands, giving them food, clothes, hugging and kissing them. He shouldnt be shocked and why should he care? Ara had her own life, her own dreams. Why would he bother butting into that?
The thought just confused him, so he tried not to think about it too much. He didnt want to upset her to tell her that he found what she was doing wrong. As long as she was still nice to him, he'd accept that and wouldnt expect any more than that.
WHen she fell, he managed to save her, walking her back to shore as he stayed seated on the grass. He waited for her to finish, but when she changed back into her dress, he put the suit back on and then he nodded [#7401DF "Okay. I guess it's been a while since we were out here. Let's head back to be safe"] he would glance over and see her putting on the dress, catching a glimpse of her in her bra and underwear. His eyes widened to see everything he was able to see. He's never really been this close to a girl before, let alone see what one looked like without their clothes. He didnt know they could look so attractive. He averted his eyes again and then he dressed, following her back towards the facility when he saw the helicopter landing.
Sylus did as he was told, hiding back and then following her back down the ladder and headed back to her room quickly. He decided to change when he heard voices, hearing the sound of someone calling Ara. He stopped moving and watched her leave before changing back into his black shirt and camo pants.
He stepped outside of the room and then he looked up at Tanner, wondering if he was going to lead him back to the guy's dorm because he honestly didnt know where he was right now. [#7401DF "Who was that?"] he wondered, following Tanner down the hall towards the guy's dorm area. He didnt want to be caught and he just hoped that if he made it back in time, he wouldnt try to trouble Ara like that again. He didnt want her getting in trouble because of him.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center She was close to the others because she figured they hadn't really had that love and affection. Hadn't had someone to hold their hand, hug them, or treat them in a kind way. She just wanted to make it easier for them and know that they still meant a lot. She cared about them. All of them. She didn't pick and choose who she was nice to and didn't judge either. How could she judge after what they've been through? ]] [Cabin [center She changed back into the dress and tried not to look at him in case she saw him looking at her, which would make her feel a little nervous. She gave a nod and headed out with him when she caught that dear dad had arrived. She didn't know what he was doing back here. He normally didn't show up here at all anymore. It was odd. And he hadn't brought some important person to show them around on what he was doing to set up some deal either. So, why was he here? She would figure that out later, after they got out of here and not get caught. Getting herself in trouble wasn't as big as Sylus' getting in trouble. There was no getting kicked out, there was being part of it or dying. That was it. ]] [Cabin [center When they were in a room, she changed in a rush. Getting into whatever she found first in her basket to go meet up with her dad before anyone start poking their noses in her room. She stepped out and followed him along the hallway. She knew he would question her wet hair. "[b Took a shower. ]" ]] [Cabin [center Tanner waited for the guards that followed along Ara and her dad were gone with them. Once they were out of sight, he opened the door and stepped in. Damn right he had some questions. Why the hell she wet? He knew for a fact that girl didn't like going any deeper than her waist in the water and wouldn't go in it by purpose while she was wearing a damn dress. He allowed Sylus out and lead the way back. "Aralyn's Father." Tanner was a little annoyed and didn't care if Sylus knew who that man was. He wasn't going to tell him he was the one behind all of this though. ]] [Cabin [center "[i Why was Ara wet? ]" Tanner kept a neutral expression, "[i Did you push her in the water? Just so you can catch a glimpse of her. Because let me tell you something. If you so much as touch her or look at her body wrong, I'll give a little nudge to kick you out and she'll be the one to do it. ]" Tanner like the many here hardly held a good temper unless he was under threat of being killed from the people who ran this place. He lead him all the way back to the guy's side, by passing security doors and came to a stop. "[i Here you are. ]" Tanner turned his back and decided to leave. ]] [Cabin [center Ara was lead into a private large office. She sat down with her dad. Listening to everything he had to say. It was boring stuff. It was stuff about being too kind or giving things away that these girls and guys should not have with them. She end up yelling back at him, and got into a verbal fight. ]] [Cabin [center "[b I'm so sorry I'm not a sociopath like you. ]" She spat out. [b But I'm still doing what you want me to do. I'm still killing them if they falling out of line. What more do you want? ]" ]] [Cabin [center "[i I need you to stop attaching yourself to them, before you fall out of line. ]" ]] [Cabin [center "[b Then kill me. If you think I'm going to fall out of line, then kill me like how you order me to kill them. Go ahead. Do it. Shoot me. Shoot me like you killed my mother. ]" ]] [Cabin [center The arguing continued. He claimed he didn't kill her mother that she had no idea what she was talking about, how hard this could be and that he couldn't put this at a stop and these kids, would die out in the street anyway. How he 'saved' them from that. She argued and argued and decided to tell him to get down to the point. ]] [Cabin [center When he got down to it, she didn't like it. She left the room without another word. She didn't want to speak to him. Didn't want to deal with it right now. She went back into the room she stayed in and shut herself in it. ]]
In truth, Sylus didnt know how close to other guys she was compared to him, but he tried not to mind it so much because he really shouldnt be butting into someone's business. It was nice of her to take him out here, so he shouldnt be complaining anymore. He just ended up doing as he was told, changing back into his uniform and then walking towards the hideout with her. He kept his eyes low and tried not to make a lot of noise or catch anyone's attention. If there was one thing he was good at, it was getting off of people's radar. It was easy for him to blend in and hide. He did that for all the times his father came looking to vent out his anger at him, or the time when he would fight with his mom and he just wanted to disappear. He had his ways and knew that if he needed to, he could be gone as well.
In her room, Sylus managed to change, hearing someone's voice outside as he kept quiet. He waited for Tanner to come in and when he answered his question, Sylus just kept silent. So at least she had a parent here at this facility too. Maybe her father was important...maybe someone in charge of security or something?
When he heard Tanner's question, he shrugged a little and decided to tel him the truth. What was wrong if he knew the truth? [#7401DF "She was sitting on a branch above the water and it snapped. I managed to bring her back to shore"] he said normally and then he heard his threat. Sylus wasnt afraid of this man at all. He's been through worse shit. If he wanted to kick him out for doing something, he better make sure he was doing something wrong. [#7401DF "I didnt do anything to her. Ask her"] he said flatly and followed him back to the guy's side.
Sylus walked towards his room and took a shower, changing into some sweats as he headed to the cafeteria for dinner. When he sat at the table, one of the leader's of the physical training sat in front of him. He spoke to Sylus about his performance. [i "Look kid. You need to pick it up tomorrow or you're going to be kicked out soon. We're on a tight schedule and we cant afford to support the weak. We'll be speeding things up, so either you do great or you get the boot"] he told him before leaving. Sylus just sat there, eating the glop served to him as he headed back to his room for the night. He didnt know how his performance was going to be tomorrow, but he was definitely going to try his best.
THe next morning, Sylus was already dressed and ready for morning training. Everyone met up at the track and the normal ten mile run was started. He was falling behind again, but he struggled to keep up. He ended up towards the back of the pack, but managed to finish a tad bit late. The guard ordered him to run an extra five miles for finishing last, so he spent the rest of the morning trying to finish, reaching the end and then catching his breath. He was then forced into combat training immediately, where he was punched in the eye for lack of stamina. He fell to the ground and the guards had him go against another student. since he couldnt really see well, he only took in more punches until the captain ordered him to leave for the day.
Sylus was sent to his room and told to clean up the men's restrooms. All of them. He spent the rest of the day, tidying up, but he was exhausted and not to mention his eye hurt and the bruises were irritating him. He mopped the floors and cleaned up the sinks and by the time he finished, he headed straight to his room, collapsing onto his bed. He didnt know how much longer of this he could take before it really did kill him.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center Of all things, she wanted to keep her family a secret. She didn't want anyone knowing who she was. Only the guards knew who she was. Some of them she knew, but a lot of them didn't speak to her after they found out who she was and what she did around here. Not that she could blame them. ]] [Cabin [center Tanner was expecting him to take advantage of Ara. He cared about the girl and didn't want something to happen to her, and so he was on his guard when he saw Ara soaking wet. He knew while he was in this facility, just training what the guy's wanted to do to her and still wanted to. So, he was on guard. He made his threat and decided to relax a little when he got an explanation. "[i What you're saying better be true. I don't want anything to happen to that girl, you understand. ]" He lead the way and left him by the guy's side. He left, hoping to catch Ara on the way. ]] [Cabin [center Ara woke with a phone call. Security explained the conflict and she was up. She looked down on her own wrist where the bruise was meant to be. It wasn't there anymore. Sometimes it amazed her how fast her body could heal. She hardly got sick either. She couldn't remember the last time she got sick... She shook her head. She didn't know why she was thinking about this again. She got up to her feet and head down the hallway and dealt with the problem and calmed the girl, bribing her with food. She didn't know why no one ever thought that maybe they should just be kind to them and maybe they might just listen instead of threatening them. ]] [Cabin [center She spend time at the girl's side. Eating breakfast there, chatting with them and then decided to go in combat class again with them. She wasn't any good at it, so she got someone to help her out and teach her a bit. But when they had to pair up for sparring, she got beaten badly. And the girl who beat her, was enjoying it way too much, as if she wanted to knock her out for the longest time. Ara was getting back up on her feet and felt her body ache. ]] [Cabin [center She had lunch there and then for dinner headed to the guy's side, not really catching glimpse of Sylus. She spend time with some of the other guys and was told by one of the guards that Sylus' was falling behind. Why? She told him to give him the day off tomorrow to relax. He didn't seem to like that but it was her order and he couldn't fall back on it. ]] [Cabin [center She decided to use the kitchen for that afternoon, and made a chocolate hazelnut cake. She was smiling by the end of it. It looked sweet! She wrote happy birthday Sylus on it and set it aside in the fridge. She decided to head home for the night, sleep over there. ]] [Cabin [center In the morning, she took up her courses and then headed out shopping. She bought a few things, one thing for his birthday and some other stuff that she wanted to get others. By the time she finished, she decided to go over the facility and go for dinner there really couldn't wait till it was his birthday. She didn't know why she felt so excited but she did. She wanted him to enjoy the day or just enjoy having someone around and remind him that a birthday was a good thing. She wanted to see him react to the cake, or the present...or the card. It was tomorrow. ]] [Cabin [center She put things away in her small room first before heading the guy's side. She went through the cafeteria, to look for Sylus. She brought her bathing suit this time and maybe she could drag him out into the pool for a bit. She didn't know if she actually wanted to learn how to swim but she did want to use it as an excuse to spend time with him. But wait? Why would she need an excuse? She always dragged whoever she wanted with her if she wanted them around. ]]
[Cabin [center She found Luke, getting his food. "[b Tell Sylus to meet me by the pool when you see him, okay? ]" Luke seemed to agree, so she smiled and thanked him and headed to the pool. Changing into her white bikini and dipped her feet into the water, waiting for him, always looking at the door. It wasn't like he was going to blow her off... But she kept looking at the door. ]]
He had no past. He had nothing to remember, nothing to cherish, and nothing to remember him by. He was practically a ghost to the rest of the world and all the people that had met him...they probably thought he was dead by now. His eyes looked around the area and he just could see his mother talking with strange men, receiving money and then holding onto his hand as she led him further down the street to get more money. He never understood what she was talking about since she always told him to stay back, but that was how she fed them. That was how they lived.
Sylus woke up the next morning, feeling nothing but pain and exhaustion after the day at the pond with Ara. He was using up too much energy and he did turn down her day to rest because he believed that he was strong enough...that he could do it. So when he spent the day training, he worked as hard as he could, running and exerting himself, but it just wasnt enough. He finished in last and ran a few extra miles to make up for it. Then he got beaten up in combat training and was sent home to clean up the facilities.
What he was sent to do was gross and disgusting, but he just managed and quickly took a shower soon after. He headed towards his bed that night and he could barely move. His eye was healing rapidly and so were his bruises, but that didnt change the fact that he was exhausted. Fifteen miles of running, sparring, and cleaning, Sylus was worn out. He passed out that night.
The next morning, Sylus wasnt looking so good. He looked really pale and his eyes were almost blood shot. He didnt know what he did yesterday, but he felt horrible and didnt think he could even make it past training today, but he had to. He did his best on the run but failed to even win any combat matches. Each day was getting more difficult than the last and with these new sets of injections, his body seemed to be having a bad reaction to them.
He headed into the cafeteria and then he managed to eat some food before heading to his room. Luke managed to catch him and when he told him that Ara was waiting, he rubbed his eyes tiredly and then he decided to go for now. He grabbed his speedo and then he changed, heading towards the pool area as he found her sitting at the edge. Sylus managed a wave and decided to just to forget about his other problems as he took a seat beside her.
[#7401DF "Hey. You look great"] he saw her in her bikini and Sylus tried to just keep his eyes off of her because it didnt feel right to stare. It made his cheeks feel warm to see her dressed in so little, but she looked really good in that swim suit. If only he could touch....no he couldnt do that. He didnt want to be like what those guys did and he didnt want Tanner being upset with him either. He needed to graduate, he couldnt do anything wrong right now.
He took off his shirt and his shorts, staying in his speedo as he sat beside her. [#7401DF "Are you ready to practice?"] he wondered, sliding into the pool. The water was up to his waist as he offered his hand to help her in. [#7401DF "We can start with your kicks"] he smiled weakly, just happy to be seeing her here and wanting to be with him. He's been having a crappy few days, but Ara could always be of comfort.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center News were moving around that he wasn't doing so well. It concerned her more and more each day because she didn't want to lose him and she felt that threat looming over her head. She needed him to step it up. He had to step it up before they didn't give him any other chance. He would make it. Sylus would definitely make it. At least that's what she told himself while she bought his gift. Really she knew that objects weren't going to make that much of a difference but she thought that just being there for his birthday and giving him that cake and card would make him happy. Maybe even take him out afternoon. ]] [Cabin [center She informed Luke and waited by the pool, swinging her feet into the water. The water's reflection was hitting the ceiling and all around the room. Staring into the water was like staring to the abyss. The fear still hung thick in the air. ]] [Cabin [center The last time she trusted someone... ]] [Cabin [center A voice lifted her out of her mind. She peered down at her own body and gave a light smile, "Thanks. " She saw his cheeks a little red and wondered if maybe she should have got that one piece instead...although it might have not made that much of a difference. She got up on her feet and watched him take of his shirt and shorts and her eyes directed down. She lifted her eyes back at him and watched him move into the pool. No, she wasn't. She was afraid to step into the water. But he wouldn't let her drown here. He helped her out that last time and it wasn't like they were going in deep. ]] [Cabin [center She inhaled a deep breath and nodded. She took his hand and walked into the water with him. She saw his weak smile and hoped that he did like hanging around with her. "[b Okay. ]" She held onto him and worked on her kicks and was fighting that bubbling fear of falling into the water and drowning in it. She was hoping he wouldn't release her. [b How are you feeling lately? ]" She asked and offered a smile [b You're birthday's tomorrow. I made a cake, hope you'll like it. ]" She was excited about his birthday, even though she could tell that he wouldn't be. ]] [Cabin [center After working on her kicks she got up and held his hands, swinging them back and forth. "[b Are my kicks okay? What else do I need to work on.]" She honestly did not come here to learn how to swim. She wanted to talk to him, spend time with him here while no one was here. She didn't know if he picked that up but as long as she go to spend time with him it didn't matter. "[b Are you tired?]" She wandered. Hoped she didn't take away from his rest. ]]
He didnt know that everyone was talking about how horribly he was doing now. All he thought was that the guards were upset with what he was able to do and he couldnt help it. His body just wasnt keeping up even though his spirit wanted him to fight. He did his best on the track and even in combat, but he was beaten and badly bruised. The more injections he got, the worse he felt. It felt like his body wasnt getting used to this new formula and it was only ruining him. Maybe he just needed to rest, or more time to adjust what was happening to his body.
He ate some food, feeling disappointed in himself when Luke told him that Ara was waiting by the pool. He didnt promise her swimming lessons, but he didnt think that she'd want to do them this quickly. His eyes watched caught onto her when he entered the pool area and he couldnt hide his expressions. His skin was much too pale to begin with, so when his cheeks burned red, he was sure she noticed. He helped her into the pool and then he held her hands in his, walking towards the center as he decided to start on her kicks. At least spending time with Ara could clear his mind and just relax him a bit more. He wouldnt have to think about his problems.
He heard her speak and decided on thinking about what he was feeling. [#7401DF "Im just a little tired that's all. All of this training this week is a little too hard on me. Im not really sure what it is, but Im still trying"] he admitted and then he just nodded to her statement. [#7401DF "Ya...my birthday....Ill definitely give your cake a try. I bet it'll taste amazing"] he told her, not feeling excited at all for tomorrow. His birthday was just another day that wasnt so special so why should be happy about it. Ara shouldnt even be trying so hard because either way, it would make him depressed.
WHen he watched her work on her kicks, Sylus smiled when she swung their hands. He held her close and nodded [#7401DF "They're looking good. We can work on floating if you want to next...but Im just a little exhausted. They had me cleaning up the bathrooms yesterday"] he released her hands and then he leaned back against the side of the pool, just feeling both tired and worn out, but he did want to hang out with her more. He rarely just got to spend time with Ara like this so he didnt want to ruin it.
When he faced her, he reached down and splashed a little bit of water towards her, having a smirk form on his face. [#7401DF "What about you? Are you okay?"]
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center His blushing showed through but she didn't mind. At least that he did like how she looked. Not that it should matter... She frowned hearing that he was tired but it was to be expected. They must have been pushing him too hard. He must have been trying hard. He just needed time to rest. She knew it and she wanted him to rest. Why didn't he take up her offer to take one day of rest, at least one day? She was really wishing he did. "[b I know you're still trying, but I really think you just need rest. I can tell them to back off you." She wanted to make it easier on him and help him out. ]] [Cabin [center It didn't matter if he would still be depressed tomorrow. Because she still wanted to be around him for his birthday either way. She hoped she could make a little difference, a little was better than no difference at all. "[b It will and you can share it with your roommates if you want. ]" She knew he didn't sound so happy about it but she still kept a smile and remained enthusiastic about it. She took his help and worked on her kicks even if that wasn't what she was here for. She just wanted to be around him. ]] [Cabin [center She saw that smile again and was surprised when he held her close in. She understood that he would be exhausted but she didn't think he would have to be cleaning the bathrooms. She frowned. She let go of him and followed a long to lean against the pool with him. "[b To be honest. I'm not here to learn how to swim. So... just relax here with me. ]" She thought that would be good at the very least. She leaned into him and then felt water splash towards her. She laughed and splashed him back a little and stared at him for awhile when he asked. Did she even know the answer to that question? Was she...okay? ]] [Cabin [center But it was just one of those questions that you'd have to stay you're okay even if you weren't. She didn't know if she was. She was concerned. She shrugged, "[b Yea. I'm okay. I got beat up at the girl's combat class last time I went, ]" She quietly laughed, "[b One of them must have really hated me because she took every chance to hit me. But I'm okay. Nothing too bad. ]" Although she had nothing to prove that she did get beat up because it healed up. ]] [Cabin [center She took his hand again and leaned into his shoulder. "Sylus... Do you trust me?" She did wonder. She hoped he didn't. "[b Always keep your guard up. ]" But it made her feel sick thinking that she would have to hurt him. No. It wouldn't happen. he would be fine. It was just a couple of days. ]]
He didnt meant to blush or show any kind of emotions from looking at her bathing suit, but he's never seen a girl's body before, let alone one that was almost bare. She had a great figure, her curves where they should be and he really had no one else to compare her to, but what could he say, he liked her. Ara had always been there and cared for him when no one else cared. She did it for all the guys and he admired that. Maybe he wasnt special but she did go all out to make him a cake and to be here for lessons. That was definitely something special.
Sylus was adamant about his decision. He didnt want her talking to the guards about him. What if that made things worse? What if they kicked him out even faster because he was getting help from Ara? Either way, he just wanted to be there for her if he could because he did want to make it up to her. [#7401DF "It's okay really Ara. Dont worry so much about me. I've been here long enough. Im sure ILl be fine after I sleep tonight"] he told her, thinking about what she had planned for his birthday. He honestly didnt want to have a celebration at all, but it didnt seem fair to her when she was already doing so much. He just decided to try and be happy for whatever Ara had for him because he didnt want her to be down and sad just because that's how he was on his birthday.
Sylus headed towards the side of the pool, just relaxing a bit when he heard her say she didnt come to learn to swim. What did she come for? It made him wonder, but he just agreed and then he felt her splash water back at him. He smiled and then he swam a bit away from her, looking up to see her thinking about his question. Was it that hard? He frowned when she said she got beat up. [#7401DF "You and I are the same. I got beaten up earlier too"] he sighed and then he held her hand in his.
[#7401DF "Im sure we'll get better"] he told her, feeling her lean against his bare shoulder. His eyes looked over at her and wondered what she was doing....was this normal? Still it felt really nice. [#7401DF "Trust you? I do Ara"] he admitted, knowing that she hasnt hurt him for thirteen years...why would she do so now?
He knew he had to keep his guard up, but from who? He would for everyone else, but ARa he wouldnt. He felt like he could be himself around her and she still wanted to be around him. [#7401DF "WHy do you ask Ara? Do you not want me to trust you?"] he wondered, thinking that maybe she believed he wasnt that good of a friend or maybe she didnt want him around her anymore. Why was she saying this to him now?
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center It seemed like he really did want her to back off into pulling him out. She still wished he would take up her offer and get a good day rest and show them what he had after the day of rest. She knew he was a lot better than that. He's been at the top for a really long time and him dropping all the sudden meant something was effecting him. Was it the injections? Either way she didn't want to butt in if he didn't want her help. She gave a nod and would go for what he wanted, even though she still thought he could use a more than just a night's rest. ]] [Cabin [center She stepped into the pool with him and worked on her kicks up until he told her that he was exhausted. It wasn't like she was here for that reason. She leaned up against the pool wall with him. She still felt the excitement of tomorrow. The promise of it coming and making his birthday only even slightly better than most. ]] [Cabin [center Seeing people smile back at her always lit her up. It made her feel like she was doing something right. Even if she was part of conducting this facility. She admitted that she wasn't here for the swimming so she thought that made it clear enough that she just wanted to spend time with him. She gave a sad smile. They weren't the same though. He was able to do a lot better. She couldn't. And even if she couldn't, she wouldn't be condemned to death for it. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Hmm... You'll get better. I don't know if I can. ]" She leaned her head on his shoulder. When she felt his eyes on him, she looked back at him wandering if he wasn't comfortable with her leaning onto him. A part of holding hands, hugging and kissing cheeks with others wasn't always just for them. Sometimes, she needed it. To feel like she wasn't alone. She couldn't really compare to their life and she couldn't say she was like them either but she still felt like it was easier to be around them than the people that ran this place. ]] [Cabin [center Of course he trusted her. She hadn't done anything to break his trust yet. Not in his eyes. She was really good at making people trust her. It was too easy. Trust was supposed to be so hard to get but she always gained it, and she wished she didn't. Because they would never except her to be the one to end it all if they did something wrong. She's done a lot of wrong. But she never got killed for it. Sometimes, she wished one of them expected her and it would just end, but at the same time she didn't want it to. She wanted to work hard to make this stop, so she never had to see another kid never enter their room again, and all that was left was toys scattered that she left them, and nothing more. It was as if they were there but weren't. ]] [Cabin [center She felt her throat lock up thinking about it. Thinking about faces she's seen and go. Seeing a girl that she's made best friend not coming back. She held on Sylus' arm and remained quiet for awhile when he asked that question. She didn't want him to trust her. [Cabin [center She inhaled a painful breath and shook her head. "[b I don't want you to trust anyone. Not here. ]" She stared down at the water becoming so still. This place was a nightmare. Sometimes she wondered how she could still put on a smile and make it seem to others like everything could still be okay, when it wasn't. She felt like she was fooling them, bringing hope that wasn't there. Promising that they could make it but they didn't. ]] [Cabin [center "[b I hate this place... ]" She whispered. Not able to smile and she didn't think she could ever say this in front of anyone here. She never complained, never said anything wrong about this place. But she was slipping. She couldn't make this time miserable. So, she put on a smile and moved a little apart from, taking his hand. ]] [Cabin [center [b I'm going to take you up there again tomorrow. I probably can do it. At night though. When everyone's asleep. ]" ]]
To Sylus, all he really wanted was to be able to graduate and to look good doing it too. That's how he has been doing well the past few years, being on top, but now he was slowly slipping and he didnt know why. He honestly knew that something was wrong, but he never admitted it because he believed in himself to pull through. Never did he think that he needed help, needed ARa to pull some strings for him because no one else got that chance. Here, everyone was alone. They couldnt really work together because it all depended on oneself.
The time spent swimming was great, he was able to help her learn how to do simple swimming techniques until she asked him if he was okay. Of course he was tired. He spent the whole day yesterday running and doing chores because he was a failure as a soldier.
He heard her say he'd get better and he agreed. He knew that eventually they would, but why wouldnt she? [#7401DF "You'll get better. I know you can. You're always trying your best, just keep doing that"] he didnt know if the girls got injections or not, but he didnt notice any scars on Ara. Her skin was flawless, as if she hasnt had the need to really brutally fight someone.
He couldnt help but let his eyes wander to her body before he quickly looked away. Sylus knew it wasnt right to stare. Staring in the guys dorms got you beat up. Here, he just hoped she didnt really notice. Sylus did trust her. She's always helped him out, always showed him something new, made him experience things he couldnt experience on his own. His eyes moved to hers when she said she didnt want him trusting anyone, so he just nodded his head. Was there a reason why she didnt want him to trust her? He was curious now to what she meant, but seeing the agony on her face made him realize she didnt like it here as much as the next person. [#7401DF "No one likes this place"] he admitted, seeing her smile so suddenly as she took his hand and changed the subject.
Sylus just smiled and decided to let her do as she pleased. It was clear she was working hard for him, so why stop her. [#7401DF "Okay. Whatever you have planned, Ill go along with it. I love being up there"] he thought that maybe she was still feeling down, maybe she needed comfort of her own? Sylus knew the one thing that made him feel much better and he decided to do it to her. He faced her and wrapped his arms around her arms, pulling her against his chest as he gave her a warm hug, taking in her own warmth as well. It always felt good to hug someone and he just hoped she felt somewhat better. [#7401DF "Tomorrow is a new day. Im sure it'll be better. Let's head back before we get in trouble"] he told her, pulling back a bit to face her, trying to sound optimistic, but he knew that he'd be depressed tomorrow.
Sylus used the steps to get out of the pool, offering his hand to her as he led her up the steps.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center It didn't matter if she wouldn't get any better. She didn't need it. There were plenty of people to protect her and they were a lot more capable then her to be able to protect herself. She wasn't like them. She didn't get injections or be able to have the same amount of strength, speed, stamina. The girls were incredibly tough too and to be honest, she was more afraid of them than she was of the guys because they did not even hesitate to beat the shit out of her. That was frightening and she always end up running but she wasn't as fast as them either, so it never worked out. Still... There were some things about her that made her wonder. ]] [Cabin [center Ara shrugged and just shook her head. "[b Even if I got better I'd still be beaten up. I can't compare to any of you. But that's fine. As long as I can learn just a bit. ]" She only wanted to do it because she wanted to somewhat be able to protect herself. Counting on others was fine but if she didn't have someone with her, then she really needed to be able to protect herself. She spotted his eyes wandering her body and blushed seeing him look away, but she didn't mind if he looked. [b It's okay. You can look. I'm in a bathing suit. ]" ]] [Cabin [center Trusting her was dangerous. She knew it because once they trusted her, they would never expect it. She never failed because of that, only that. Otherwise, if they didn't trust her, it would be difficult for her. Her mind got a little dark. It was clear that this place was hated and it was natural that she wouldn't like it too, but she never mentioned it. It would only make it even more depressing. She changed her expression and smiled, mentioning about tomorrow. Maybe he would like it, maybe he would still hate it but at least he wouldn't be alone. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Perfect. I'll make sure you have a good birthday, or at least better than most. ]" She knew he loved it out there from the last time she saw him. It would be during the night, but since there wasn't a city for miles, they would be able to see those stars clearly and she knew he hasn't seem them in a long time, if at all when there was no lights on the ground. ]] [Cabin [center He was stepping forward. It puzzled her until she felt arms around her. She leaned her forehead against his chest. She never had one person try to comfort her. Not that they would need to when she always appeared like there wasn't a single thing wrong. She didn't speak because she didn't know what to say but felt like saying nothing was enough. His arms around her felt like comfort, making want her to drop all of her worries and secrets, like she could trust him with that much. He pulled back and heard him talk about it being better, being optimistic. She never heard him sound optimistic. She doubly blinked, feeling her eyes slightly hot. ]] [Cabin [center She smiled and nodded, "[b Okay.]" ]] [Cabin [center She saw his hand and took it. She looked up at him and gripped onto his hand a little tighter, her lips parting almost to say something but she shut it. She walked up the steps with him, releasing his hand and grabbing the towel to dry off her hair. "[b I'm going to get changed. You can go and sleep. You'll need it. See you tomorrow, okay? ]" She smiled. ]]
Everyone knew that she was special, otherwise they'd be seeing more girls through this side of the facility as well. She was the only one they ever saw and they wondered why. The guys had their theories, some were better than others. She could be the mastermind's daughter, the security's daughter, or maybe she was dating someone important, or used as bait to calm down even the roughest guys. They didnt know for sure, but she was there for a reason and they all just had to figure out what.
Sylus knew that she did go through the harsh training, but she couldnt have done it without injections could she? THe injections were what made them strong, what made them heal quickly. If she was beaten in combat training....where were her bruises. Where was the bruise on her wrist from yesterday? SHe had to be taking something that made her keep up.
[#7401DF "You dont have to compare and you dont need to. As long as you can hold your own, that's all that matters. Besides...I get the feeling that you dont even need to be in the training. You are mostly just looking out for us right?"] he stayed in the pool with her, deciding that maybe she was right. Maybe he didnt need to trust anyone right now.
On the bright side , she was going to take him out tomorrow during the night when everyone was asleep. He wondered what surprise she was going to have for him, but that reminded him of how excited he was for his seventh birthday. ALl he wanted was cake, something from his mom, but he was sent here to struggle and suffer. He didnt know if this was going to be a good idea a tall, but Ara seemed so excited.
After holding her close, even Sylus was surprised by his actions. When did she ever look so down? WHen did she ever admit that she hated it here? He felt bad, so he held her close, seeing her smile as he pulled back. [#7401DF "Ill see you tomorrow then ARa"] he waved goodbye and headed back to his room for the night.
In the morning, he showered and felt a little tired, but at the same time depressed. It was his birthday, the day he was sent here. Luke had a small card made for him and even patted him on the back. Clyde gave him his favorite boots. THe three of them were roommates for a while, so he thanked them both and then he headed down towards the cafeteria with them for breakfast. Sylus ate slowly, thinking about what his mother could be thinking today. Did she regret it? Did she want him back? He wasnt sure, but someday he'd figure it out.
During training, Sylus was far behind today. Maybe it was the mix of sadness along with the effect on his body, but he just couldnt keep up. He tripped and fell into the dirt, the leading guard ordered him to get up and run, but he just couldnt find the energy to stand. [#7401DF "I need to see the doctor"] he told the guard, but the guard only took it at as an excuse. [i "The doctor? Get your butt out there soldier!"] he forced Sylus to continue through training, seeing him fall behind in every event. He was even knocked out on combat training with his first opponent. At that point, the guard told him to go see the doctor, but he'd have word with the higher ups about his performance. This whole week he's been nothing but falling behind and they werent having it anymore.
[google-font http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin] [Cabin [center Who she was only a secret to them, everyone else knew. When they graduated, some of them would be told who she was, eventually. A lot of them came to resent her because with that secret they also knew what her part she took in all of this. It didn't stop her from being kind to them either way. She would try even if they looked at her differently, and gave them gifts for their birthday. Most of the time it blew up in her times, but there were those sometimes that it didn't. So, she still did it for those times. It was funny how maybe out there, that kindness would be seen as a good thing and hear, it was seen as an annoyance. There really wasn't room for anyone being kind around here, she knew it. It's why she still wasn't as nice as everyone thought when she had to kill them for falling out of line. ]] [Cabin [center It was clear to her she couldn't compare to them, so she didn't let it bring her down so much. They survived through a lot more than her, worked years and if she suddenly got good and beat one of them? Well, then all their training felt like it was for nothing if she suddenly got good-which she wouldn't. She only recently started to try first hand combat here. She's tried out before but she never really spared, until now. It was odd.. No bruises. She would have to test that out. ]] [Cabin [center She had to agree with him, she didn't need the training. Looking out of them though? She knew he must have thought that they couldn't just allow her to wander around and look out for them. Why would such a cruel facility allow someone just to give them stuff? She knew they had theories about her. She wandered if Sylus had his own theory. "[b I don't need it... But who knows if I might need it later. Mostly...yes. " She would let him believe that. Because that's what she wanted to do, look out for them. Not slaughter them in cold blood. ]] [Cabin [center It was nice to feel somebody else's arms around her. It was comfort and she didn't have that either here. She wasn't as alone as them, because she had a family but she still did feel alone. Somehow, she was feeling safe for a only split second when he was so close. She saw him head out, and nodded. She changed her clothes and headed into her room. She slept off that bat that night. ]] [Cabin [center Morning rose and she made the decision to test something out. She would meet Sylus' afternoon, and she didn't want to bother him now. In the morning she rushed to grab something to eat and then she went to the girl's combat lesson. The person instructing kept on trying to convince her out of it but she won the round of staying. She wanted to see...how long would it take before she couldn't get up. How fast these bruises healed. She should definitely not be healing in this rate. She didn't remember anyone injecting anything to her, so how? It wasn't natural. ]] [Cabin [center She went through it, sparing, getting knocked right on the ground. She always got a little dizzy and her body hurt a little but she got back up and kept trying and trying, until she was nearly knocked out. When she was on the floor, heavily breathing the instructor came toward her and was getting someone to get her out. But she got up again and controlled her breathing rate. "[b Not yet... ]" She looked back at her. She had bruises on her alright but she still could stand. And the next second she was tipping and swaying back into the wall. ]] [Cabin [center "[i Get her out. ]" The instructor told Tanner. ]] [Cabin [center Tanner nodded and helped her up. ]] [Cabin [center "[b I'm fine. ]" She tried to pull away from him. ]] [Cabin [center [i Ara... You're bruising everywhere. What's wrong? Are you upset about something? ]" ]] [Cabin [center "[b I'm telling you, I'm fine. I just need a couple of minutes to recover. ]" She's been counting the seconds that it took to recover from falling down, getting beat up and it wasn't as fast as the girl's here but it was still fast. She was dragged out anyway and taken to the medical center. She end up having to lay down and met up with one of the woman she knew that worked here. ]] [Cabin [center "[b Aren't you surprised I'm still conscious? ]" She looked over at Tanner. ]] [Cabin [center "[i Theoretically, you should have been knocked out that second time that girl struck you. ] ]] [Cabin [center She just shook her head and decided to forget it about it now. But she talked to the woman and told her to help her monitor how fast she was healing. It wasn't making sense. If her dad had something to do with this, she was going to be more then pissed off. She got out and by the time she got out, a guard came in front of her. She faced him and he gave the word to her. Her heart dropped, the sickening feeling returning to her stomach. ]] [Cabin [center "[b I'm not killing him. ]" She stated. ]] [Cabin [center [i Orders...are orders. If you don't then one of us will have to. ]" ]] [Cabin [center "[b Sylus will get better. Revoke it. ]" ]] [Cabin [center "[i You're father agreed to it. If you don't Ara...they'll be consequences. Not just on you, but on him. ]" ]] [Cabin [center On his birthday? She stared back at him, her vision blurring. No. "It'll be done." No. No... The guard nodded and she started making her way back to her room. It was night. Night... Her heart sped up. No... She went into her room and sat down. She didn't want to go. She didn't want to do this. She screamed out of frustration but she grabbed the gun, the gift, the card and her feet lead her down, up intill the guy's room. She opened the door and put on a smile. ]] [Cabin [center [i No... ] ]] [Cabin [center "[b Sylus. ]" She whispered. She tossed him the guards clothes. "[b Change into this... Hurry up. We're going to the kitchen to eat your cake first. ]" ]] [Cabin [center [i Don't trust me. ] ]] [Cabin [center She was wearing a red lace dress, she made sure she looked nice. Once he got dressed, she would lead the way towards the kitchen. Her mind was screaming but her body followed the order, her own expression betrayed her own thoughts. She was going to pull the cake out of the fridge. She could have put poison in it, she had it with her. But her mind won, and she couldn't. She didn't want to. She set the cake on the counter and grabbed some candles from the drawer to put it on the cake. "[b What do you think of the cake? ]]
Right now, no one knew who Ara really was. Some guards knew, but they swore under oath and didnt say a word to measly trainees. He didnt know who she really was, but Sylus had an idea she was important. People around them had their theories, had ideas about why she was so nice, why she was the only girl to be around them, and why she was basically untouchable.
Sylus believed that she was probably the daughter of someone important, but he didnt know who, but after being with her in the water today, he had an idea that she didnt like it here. Did that mean she was being forced to stay here? Forced to learn combat but not take injections? He didnt understand. Why would her parents force her to stay and not let her be free? He didnt know, but at the same time he didnt want to ask because it seemed too personal. Ara usually dodged those kinds of questions, so he would always just end it there. He said his goodbye to her and went back to his room for the day, just passing out instantly and waking up to his birthday. Today always made him feel down no matter what happened, but it did put a smile on his face to see gifts from his roommates. He thanked Clyde and LUke before heading out with them for training.
At training his day was beginning to go downhill. He couldnt keep up at all, his mind was focused on other things and was eventually sent to the doctor. He couldnt keep up and his body felt extremely weak. Sylus didnt even feel like he was healing at all. HE was sent to the doctors, where he told him all that he was feeling, how he was tired all the time, the moment he was tased, and even how he wasnt healing. The doctor had an idea and decided to change his injections as a trial run. [i "You're probably having a bad reaction to the new drugs. I think the taser didnt help either. Im going to change the injections for you and then you should be okay after a good night's sleep"] the doctor said as he gave him five new injections and sent him off for the night.
Sylus headed back to his room and was going to change for bed, not wanting to do anything else today...but he did remember Ara had things planned. If only he could say no. When night came, he was laying on his bed, thinking about that day he was sent here, how his mother was being paid. It made his hands curl into a fist and when he slammed it against the wall, he heard her voice.
He sat up and felt the guard clothes in his hands as he began changing into them. He followed her into the kitchen and then he noticed the clothes she was wearing. Ara look so beautiful sometimes, but today she looked amazing. Sylus couldnt keep his eyes off of her as he watched her set up the cake. It looked amazing. A cake just for him with his name on it. It was something he's always wanted since he was a boy. It was what he was expecting that day his mother sold him here. How did she know?
[#7401DF "Ara....this looks great. I cant believe you made this"] he smiled and then his eyes glanced back to her in her dress [#7401DF "You look stunning too. You didnt have to do all of this for me..."] he told her, feeling really lucky right now. It did put a smile on his face and he was glad to have met with her today.
[#7401DF "Let's eat a piece"] he offered and then he walked over and grabbed a knife from the drawers, cutting two slices of the cake before putting them on two plates, handing one to her. [#7401DF "Here you go. This looks delicious"] he smiled and then he didnt even question whether it had poison or not. Sylus took a bite and licked his lips...chocolate. His favorite flavor [#7401DF "Oh wow. This is good. I wish I had this on my seventh birthday. But if I didnt come here....I wouldnt have this on my twenty first"] he grinned and licked his lips, finishing up his slice as he looked at the cake once more. It was all for him and clearly his name was on the cake. He still couldnt believe Ara did all of this for him. Even dressing up like this. She was amazing. [#7401DF "Thanks for everything Ara.....you really didnt have to"]
